The Department of Visual Communication, Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, in collaboration with the ED Cell and Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) at S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized a *“Hands-On Drone Workshop” on March 12, 2025, at the SACAS campus.*
The session was led by *Mr. Solaiyappan Ganesan* from *GMS Drone Enterprise,* who provided an enriching learning experience for the participants. He shared in-depth insights into drone technology, its significance, and its diverse applications across various industries.
During the workshop, *Mr. Ganesan* elaborated on the role of drones in agriculture, surveillance, filmmaking, and disaster management, while also shedding light on the promising career opportunities in the rapidly evolving drone industry. He guided students on how they could build a future in this field, emphasizing the growing demand for drone technology experts.
The session also highlighted the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and automation benefits of drone usage. Participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in drone assembly, flight control, and operations, enhancing their technical proficiency and practical understanding.
With nearly 180 students in attendance, the workshop proved to be an engaging and insightful experience. It not only broadened students’ knowledge of drone technology but also inspired them to explore new possibilities in this dynamic field.

S.A. College Hosts Guest Lecture on Career Guidance in Logistics & Freight Forwarding On Feb 17, 2025, S.A. College of Arts & Science's Department of Commerce (Bank Management), organized a Guest Lecture on Career Guidance in the Logistics & Freight Forwarding Industry. The session, held at 11:00 AM in the SACAS Auditorium, featured expert speaker Mr. Jayachandran Seeman, Vice President of OfficeFrameWork Operation Center Pvt Ltd and Co-Founder of Logwiz Institute of Shipping & Logistics.
Mr. Seeman provided valuable insights into career opportunities, industry trends, and essential skills in logistics and freight forwarding. He emphasized the role of technology, digital transformation, and international trade regulations in supply chain management.
Around 160 students and faculty members participated, gaining a deeper understanding of job roles, certifications, and global logistics strategies. The session empowered students with the knowledge to make informed career choices in this dynamic and growing industry.

SACAS ED Mart 2K25: A Thriving Marketplace of Innovation and Talent! On February 1, 2025 – The S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS) Entrepreneurship Development Cell, in association with IIC & Indian Knowledge System, successfully hosted "SACAS - ED Mart 2K25" at the SACAS Ground. The event, held from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, provided a dynamic platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and business acumen. With over 173 stalls, the marketplace featured a diverse range of products, including food, accessories, stationery, gaming items, pet supplies, herbal products, and more. The event attracted not only students but also external visitors, fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Adding to the excitement, popular guest TTF Vasan and his crew graced the occasion, energizing the atmosphere with their presence. From the moment the event commenced at 8:30 AM, the venue was abuzz with enthusiasm, with students from various colleges actively participating in the entrepreneurial showcase.
Behind the scenes, the dedicated staff members of SACAS played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. Their efforts, along with the discipline maintained by stall owners and participants, created a professional and vibrant environment.

The Entrepreneur Development (ED) team organized a vibrant and energetic flash mob to promote E D Mart for the year 2024-25. The event saw enthusiastic participation from top students across various departments, who came together to perform an exciting array of Indian variety songs. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the E D Mart 2024-25 banner, marking the official launch of this year's promotional campaign. The flash mob not only added an element of fun but also effectively drew attention to the upcoming initiatives and offerings of E D Mart, leaving the audience buzzing with excitement.

The event took place in Preview Theatre on 10th January 2025, at 12:00 p.m. onwards. The Chief Guest Mr. P.A Joseph Dinesh, a Financial Wellness Coach with expertise in Financial Industry. As a dedicated professional and educator, Mr. P.A Joseph Dinesh aimed to help students to improve their skills in financial areas. In this session, more than 196 students and 7 faculty members participated. The following contents were discussed in the session.

S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Seminar on Empowering the Next Generation of Women in STEM: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities under NEP On January 8, 2025, the “Empowering the Next Generation of Women in STEM: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities under NEP” seminar, organized by the School of Commerce at S.A. College of Arts & Science and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research - SRC (ICSSR-SRC), attracted widespread attention, receiving over 100 article submissions on its theme. The seminar aimed to address gender disparities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and align with India's Vision Viksit Bharat @ 2047, marking the 100th year of independence.
Focusing on the obstacles women face in STEM, such as gender bias, harassment, the glass ceiling, and work-life balance issues, the seminar sought to empower women to overcome these challenges and contribute to a more inclusive society under the National Education Policy (NEP). The seminar’s objectives included exploring the current status of women in STEM, identifying NEP opportunities, and proposing actionable recommendations for policymakers and educational institutions.
The event addressed key themes, including promoting gender equality in STEM education, enhancing leadership opportunities for women, and sharing national and international best practices.

The seminar concluded with a valedictory address by Ms. Adhilakshmi Logamurthy, an accredited mediator and gender consultant.

College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and the Department of Bank Management, hosted the much-anticipated ED MART at the SACAS campus. This vibrant event aimed to inspire budding entrepreneurs, with a special focus on women entrepreneurs from self-help groups (SHGs).
The event was a dynamic celebration of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, providing an empowering platform for entrepreneurs to connect, showcase their ventures, and learn from each other. It served not only as a marketplace but also as a testament to the college's commitment to fostering innovation and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs.
Highlights of the Event:
- The college received an overwhelming response, exceeding expectations in terms of participation and engagement.
- A total of 40 stalls were set up by participants, including both self-help groups and non-self-help groups.
- The enthusiastic participation of staff and students added to the event’s success. They actively visited the stalls and supported the entrepreneurs by purchasing products with great enthusiasm.

The speaker of the program was Dr. L. A. Joy Femila, Principal, Indhira College of Education Tiruvallur. She has very rich experience in Navigating career choices. She demonstrated excellence in Self-Assessment, Exploring Career Options, Career choices for Bank Management, Setting Career Goals, Decision-Making Process, Networking and Mentorship, Seek Professional Help & Decision and Action. In this Session 130 Students and staffs were participated and get benefited.

In a united stand against drug abuse, 137 students from the Department of Commerce (Bank Management) of S.A. College of Arts & Science formed a human chain, conveying a powerful message of Say No to Drugs. With creativity and conviction, students crafted compelling charts and cards, visually narrating the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of drug-free living.
The human chain, organized on September 25, 2024, at SAEC college entrance from 8 A.M. to 9.30 A.M. They not only raised awareness but also ignited conversations on the critical role of youth in combating drug addiction. Through their public display of anti-drug messages, students took a meaningful step in reinforcing the significance of drug prevention and education among their peers and the larger community. The event underscored the collective power of youth, channeling their voices and creativity into a strong, unified campaign for a healthier, drug-free future.
In an effort to curb the rising tide of drug addiction, the Human Chain Formation was a visual and educational reminder of the need for informed choices and proactive prevention. The success of this program lies in its ability to transform awareness into action, encouraging students and the public alike to take a firm stance against drugs. By participating in this initiative, students not only educated others about the risks of drug abuse but also took a leadership role in shaping a drug-free society."
