The Citizen Consumer Club, in association with the PG Department of Commerce (General), organized a thought-provoking guest lecture on Consumer Rights, featuring CMA, CS, Ln. Dr. V.N. Parthiban as the esteemed speaker. The event aimed to educate students and community members about their rights as consumers, emphasizing the importance of informed decision-making in today’s complex marketplace.
Dr. V.N. Parthiban delivered a comprehensive presentation that covered various critical aspects of consumer rights. He began by outlining the fundamental rights that every consumer should be aware of, including the right to safety, information, choice, and redress. He further elaborated on the legal frameworks in place, such as the Consumer Protection Act, that safeguard these rights. Dr. Parthiban highlighted the significance of being an informed consumer and the ways individuals can advocate for their rights in various situations.
The lecture also provided practical tips on how to effectively resolve consumer disputes and the role of consumer forums in promoting justice. Consumer Awareness Program on 20-07-2023
On 20th July 2023, CITIZEN CONSUMER CLUB in association with Department of commerce (general)organized Consumer Awareness Program at SF 13, 135 students attended the session. Chief Guest Dr.S Geetha Kumari, President of Consumer Rights Organization of Tamil Nadu enlightened the session with thoughtful lecture followed by other speakers Mr S Kishore, Mr N Saravanan, Mr Ezilarasu.
