The School of Management, at S.A. College of Arts and Science, organized a heartfelt farewell programme for the II MBA students on 15.04.2025. The event was joyfully arranged and hosted by the I MBA batch, filled with warm wishes, vibrant performances, and tokens of appreciation.

The event commenced with a welcome address, where the I MBA students warmly received their seniors and faculty members, expressing gratitude and admiration for the II MBA batch’s contributions and leadership throughout their time in the department.

The atmosphere came alive with cultural performances, including dance and singing, all performed enthusiastically by the I MBA students. These performances added color, energy, and a festive spirit to the occasion.

To mark the moment and express their love and best wishes, gifts were presented to the II MBA students by their juniors. The gesture was received with smiles, cheers, and a few emotional moments, as memories of shared experiences were revisited.

The Valedictory Function of the School of Management was conducted on 7/04/2025 at SACAS Theater. and participation from Students and faculty members participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event marked the culmination of various academic and co-curricular activities held throughout the academic period. The Director of the School of graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address, appreciating the efforts and achievements of the students. As a highlight of the function, the Director presented prizes and certificates to students who had excelled in academics, leadership, and other co-curricular areas. These awards served as a recognition of their dedication, hard work, and outstanding performance. The students were applauded for their achievements, and the atmosphere was filled with pride and encouragement. S.A. College of Arts and Science Hosts Case-A-Thon 2025

The School of Management at S.A. College of Arts and Science successfully inaugurated the Case-A-Thon 2025 on April 7, 2025, at the SACAS Preview Theater. The event brought together MBA students from S.A. College of Arts and Science and Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, fostering collaboration and critical thinking.

Dr. S. Praveen Kumar, Dean, School of Commerce and Management, Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, served as the resource person. He conducted an engaging session on solving real-world business cases, sharing valuable insights and practical approaches. His interactive discussion, enriched with case demonstrations, captivated the participants and deepened their understanding of business problem-solving.

Following the session, participants were assigned cases, with submissions due by April 10, 2025. The winner will be selected based on their analytical prowess and problem-solving skills, earning an exclusive opportunity to visit Singapore.

The Case-A-Thon 2025 proved to be a resounding success, leaving participants inspired and eager to apply their learning in real-world business scenarios.


S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Guest Lecture on 18.03.2025

 

S.A College of Arts & Science, School of Management, organized a guest lecture titled “Entrepreneurship – A Curtain Raiser” to introduce students to the dynamic world of entrepreneurship. The session was delivered by Dr. K. Sankara Moorthy, Faculty of Management, SRMIST, Kattankulathur.

The lecture provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in today’s business landscape. With an interactive approach, more than 50 students from various departments actively participated in discussions, engaging in thought-provoking conversations about startup culture, risk management, and business strategies.

Dr. Moorthy encouraged students to ask questions, offering practical knowledge backed by real-world examples. The session inspired aspiring entrepreneurs to explore innovative ideas and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. The event was a great success, equipping students with a strong foundation in business innovation and problem-solving.


School of Management inaugurated “SAMBAWI”  Women In Business Forum on 05.03.2025

The School of Management inaugurated “SAMBAWI”  Women In Business Forum on 5-02-2025. Mrs. Archana Rajamanickam , HR Leader, Bonfiglioli Technology Space, Chennai inaugurated SAMBAWI . Mrs.Archana in her inaugural address said that women symbolises power and emphasised the need for having SMART Goals and Dreams for achieving success. The inauguration was followed Workshop on Legal Status of Women by Mrs.Adhilakshmi Logamurthy, Advocate, Accredited Mediator- Arbitrator, High Court –Madras. Mrs. Adhilakshmi, educated the students on Rights of the girl child and legal protection given to a girl child through a story. She highlighted the need for women to appreciate herself and never to feel being let down by others words against her. The workshop was very interactive and the students felt motivated.

The School of Management organized Finclave 2025 on 25/02/2025 on “AI in the world of Finance” at SACAS Theatre. Mr.Hari Haran, Business Development Manager Guvi Geek Network delivered  Inaugural address. This was followed by educative session I on topic Role of AI in Finance. Session II was on topic Beyond spreadsheets: How AI is redefining financial decision making by CA Deepak Kumar Gulecha, Data Analyst and automation specialist. Session III was on Conquering the stock market with AI by Mr.Kishore Mohan, Founder Stock Trader Corps and Session IV was on AI and Robotic Process Automation in Industry 6.0 by CMA Rakesh Shankar Ravi Shankar, Member-Internal Auditing and assurance standards board, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Besides students of MBA of our college 62 students from 7 colleges participated in the Finclave’25. In the Valedictory session certificates were issued to participants.

S.A College of Arts & Science Hosts “Melange’25” – A Grand Success On February 14, 2025, the School of Management at S.A College of Arts & Science, in association with Business Standard, successfully organized “Melange’25” – Mela of Management. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 315 students across 29 colleges.

Mr. Bala Vummidi, Vice President & Global Head of HR at SRM Technologies, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The competition featured seven engaging events, including The Strategist, IPL Auction, Adzania, Step It Up, Bulls and Bears Challenge, Pitch Starter, and Thought Rattle, testing students’ analytical, creative, and entrepreneurial skills.

During the valedictory session, certificates were distributed to all participants, while winners and runners received cash prizes. The event provided a platform for budding managers to showcase their talent, network, and gain industry exposure. “Melange’25” was a resounding success, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.

The School of Management inaugurated Management Club ,”EVOLVE” for MBA students.Dr.Prabhakaran, specialist, Non Life Council of Insurance, Ombudsman, Mumbai was the Chief Guest.

Dr. K. Prabaharan began his session by explaining EVOLVE, which stands for Empowerment, Value, Objective, Learning, Versatile, and Every time, Everywhere, Everybody. He emphasized its importance in fostering a dynamic mindset for professional and personal growth. He then discussed Governance, Strategy, and Risk Management, highlighting their role in decision-making, accountability, and mitigating potential challenges in organizations. The session also covered Gemba Kaizen and Gemba Walk, along with the three elements of inefficiency—Mura (unevenness), Muri (overburden), and Heijunka (production leveling). He explained the Hoshin Kanri process, which aligns company goals with actionable objectives, and the Jidoka process, which integrates human intelligence with automation for quality control. Additionally, he stressed the importance of clarity in communication and shared insights on change management, emphasizing adaptability in a constantly evolving business environment.

To keep the session engaging, Dr. Prabaharan used funny videos and PowerPoint presentations, making complex concepts more accessible. His interactive approach encouraged enthusiastic participation, leading to an insightful Q&A session where students asked thought-provoking questions, reflecting their keen interest in the topic. He also took a moment to appreciate the students who designed the logo, recognizing their creativity and contribution. This acknowledgment, along with the engaging discussion, served as an eye-opening experience for students, inspiring them to embrace continuous learning, strategic thinking, and innovation in their future careers.

S.A. College of Arts & Science Organizes Education Awareness Programme On 31st January 2025, The School of Management at S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with UBA and IIC, organized an Education Awareness Programme on National Education Day at the Government School in Kannapalayam Village.

As part of the initiative, students from the School of Management engaged schoolchildren through games and activities to emphasize the importance of education. Additionally, they distributed books and stationery to encourage learning.

The school students enthusiastically participated in the activities, showcasing their talents and winning prizes. The Headmistress of the school appreciated the college students for their efforts in motivating young learners and fostering a positive learning environment.

This outreach programme successfully highlighted the significance of education and community engagement, leaving a lasting impact on the students of Kannapalayam Village.

It strengthens observation in STEM by exposing senior leaders to advancements in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, keeping them updated with modern trends like AI and automation. By fostering creative thinking, reverse mentoring encourages innovative solutions by combining younger employees' fresh ideas with seasoned leaders' strategic insights. It preserves intellectual heritage by facilitating a two-way transfer of knowledge—where juniors share insights into modern tools, and seniors impart wisdom and organizational values. The process also enhances critical thinking by challenging traditional mindsets, pushing both parties to re-evaluate existing processes and adopt new approaches. Furthermore, creative communication is developed as juniors teach senior leaders to leverage modern tools like social media, visual storytelling, and digital collaboration platforms for effective engagement. Through reverse mentoring, senior leaders gain adaptability, digital literacy, and fresh perspectives, while junior employees develop leadership skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of organizational strategies, fostering mutual growth and innovation.
