Muthamilarignar Kalaignar Centenary Celebration Women’s 10-Kilometer Marathon Race Inter-Collegiate Meet 2024-2025

Our SACAS University Long-Distance Women Athlete, SACAS's Women Athletic Champion 2024-25, R. R. Shaalu, 1st MBA, won the Gold Medal (10 Kilometers Marathon Race) with a cash award of ₹10,000 in the Muthamilarignar Kalaignar Centenary Celebration Women’s 10-Kilometer Marathon Race Inter-Collegiate Meet 2024-2025 at SDAT Ground, Thiruvalur, organized by Thiruvalur District SDAT.


State Level Badminton Men's Doubles Tournament 2025

Our SACAS Men's 🏸Badminton team 🏸player and University Men's B-zone Bronze Medalist, 👑Bharath M👑., a 2nd BCOM General student, won the Championship Trophy🏆along with a cash award of Rs 3000 in Men's Doubles at the State Level Badminton Tournament 2025, held at Champs Sports Academy, Iyyapanthagal, Chennai.On behalf of the Department of Physical Education.


SAVEETHA Engineering Inter-Collegiate Mr.SEC Bodybuilding Championship 2024-2025

Our SACAS one of the Mr. SACAS Bodybuilding Champion, Girithar.S, 1st MCOM, won the Mr.SEC, Gold Medal with 3000/- cash award in the Short Height category at the SAVEETHA Engineering Inter-Collegiate Mr.SEC Bodybuilding Championship 2024-2025, held at SAVEETHA University Campus., organized by SAVEETHA Engineering College. S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Annual Sports Meet 2025 with Grandeur Chennai, March 15, 2025 – The Annual Sports Meet 2025 at S.A. College of Arts & Science unfolded with remarkable enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship, perseverance, and discipline. The event witnessed vibrant participation from students across disciplines, transforming the campus into a hub of spirited competition.

The esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Amalraj Anthony Arputharaj, a distinguished table tennis player and Arjuna Awardee (2017), graced the occasion. In his keynote address, he underscored the importance of patriotism, urging students to channel their dedication and commitment not only into sports but also toward the greater cause of nation-building.

The day’s proceedings featured a series of track and field events, with competitors displaying outstanding athleticism and determination. The championship race culminated with the Department of Bank Management clinching the Women’s Overall Championship, while the Department of Commerce (General) secured the Men’s Overall Championship. The Marchpast Trophy, a testament to discipline and coordination, was awarded to the Department of Computer Applications for their exemplary performance.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were felicitated in the presence of faculty members and dignitaries. The management lauded the efforts of students and staff in orchestrating a seamless event, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering excellence in both academics and sports.


University of Madras B-Zone Men Ball Badminton Tournament 2025 on 17.02.2025

University of Madras B-Zone Men Ball Badminton Tournament 2025 Concludes Successfully at SACAS On Feb 17, 2025 – The Department of Physical Education at S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS) successfully hosted the University of Madras B-Zone Men Ball Badminton Tournament for the fourth consecutive time on February 17, 2025.

Mr. G. Sivamaran, Director of Physical Education, honored Mr. P. Ramesh, Joint Secretary of the Thiruvallur District Ball Badminton Association, with a shawl and welcomed all participating college officials, coaches, and players.

The tournament featured over 90 students from eight colleges under the University of Madras B-Zone. Nazareth Arts & Science College clinched the championship, with R.M.K. Vivekananda College as the runner-up. SACAS secured third place for the first time, while A.M. Jain College finished fourth.

Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar felicitated the winners with trophies and certificates. The event saw active participation from faculty, students, and staff, fostering a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Department of Physical Education, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the 1st State Level Inter-School Boys & Girls Tournament "PALESTRA' 25," held on the 23rd and 24th of January 2025.

First and foremost, I would like to sincerely thank our honorable Correspondent, Sir, for his unwavering support and encouragement in organizing this insightful Tournament . Your guidance has been a cornerstone in making this event possible.

I also extend my deep gratitude to our beloved Principal, Madam, and Director, Madam, for their inspiring leadership and constant motivation, which continually drives us to excel in the Department of Physical Education.

A special note of thanks to our Head of the Department, faculty members, and sports students for their enthusiastic participation and cooperation, which added immense value to this event and made it truly meaningful.

SACAS Hosts 1st State-Level Inter-Schools Staff Tournament

S.A. College Arts & Science's Department of Physical Education successfully organized the SACAS 1st State Level Inter-Schools Staff Tournament, "Unity Sports Carnival," showcasing remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship.

The event commenced with an inauguration by the esteemed Director, Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and the beloved Principal, Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, who launched the Women's Staff Throwball Match. The Men's Staff Tennis Ball Cricket Match was inaugurated by Dr. S. Ganapathy, HoD of B.Com. CS, while Dr. R. Srinivasan, HoD of B.Sc. Vis Com, distributed prizes to the winners.

Special thanks were extended to the Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja for his unwavering support, along with the Physical Education staff, Visual Communication Department, sports volunteers, and non-teaching staff, whose contributions were instrumental in the event's success. The participation of sports students as umpires ensured fair play and professionalism.

The tournament celebrated unity and sportsmanship, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.


University of Madras Women Inter-Zone Karate Tournament 2024-2025 at D. B. Jain College

SACAS Women Karate player, R. Aswini, 2nd BCOM B/M, won the Gold Medal in the University of Madras Women Inter-Zone Karate Tournament 2024-2025 at D. B. Jain College in Thoraipakkam, O. M. R., Chennai. She has been selected to represent the University of Madras (Form 3) women's karate team. She will participate in the 68 kg category in the All India University South Zone Karate Championship at Crescent University on 05.01.2025, Vandalur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
