SACAS in Health Walkathon Promotes Public Health Awareness in Avadi

A Health Walkathon was organised by the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine on 13 March 2026 at Avadi from 5.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. The event aimed to create awareness among the public about the importance of health, fitness, and disease prevention.

Around 60 students from the Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science actively participated in the walkathon. The students walked enthusiastically through the designated route, supporting the initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle and spread awareness about preventive healthcare practices.

The programme encouraged community participation and highlighted the important role of youth in promoting public health awareness. Early morning walkers and local residents also showed interest and appreciated the initiative.

The walkathon turned out to be an energetic and meaningful event that inspired participants and the public to adopt healthy habits and maintain overall wellbeing. It also strengthened the spirit of social responsibility among the students.
