The Department of Commerce (Computer Application), S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an industrial visit to Simpson & Co. Ltd., Anna Salai, Chennai, on 7 July 2026 for 51 students to provide hands-on exposure to industrial operations and manufacturing practices.

The students were welcomed by the company’s officials, who introduced them to the organization’s history, products, and contributions to the Indian automobile industry. Participants toured various departments, including production, quality assurance, inventory management, maintenance, and administration, gaining firsthand knowledge of modern manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and workplace safety practices.

An interactive session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding industrial management and career opportunities in the manufacturing sector. The visit significantly enhanced their understanding of production planning, organizational workflow, teamwork, and professional discipline.
