Students Gain Valuable Insights into Direct Taxation at SACAS.

The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised a Guest Lecture on “An Overview of Direct Taxation” on 9 July 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was delivered by CA. Deepika Ganesan, Chartered Accountant and Certified GST Trainer by NACIN.

The lecture provided students with a clear understanding of income tax and the latest developments in the New Income Tax Act, 2025. Key topics included the five heads of income, computation of total income, structural changes in the new Act, income tax return filing, and compliance procedures. The speaker also shared practical insights into the evolving taxation system and its importance in the field of commerce and finance.

Students and faculty members attended the interactive session with great enthusiasm. The programme enhanced students’ knowledge of direct taxation and encouraged them to stay informed about changing tax laws, preparing them for successful careers in the finance and commerce sectors.
