The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics, in association with IQAC, S.A. College of Arts & Science, is organizing a Guest Lecture on “Role of ICDS in Child and Maternal Health” on 30th July 2026 at 12:30 p.m. The session will be delivered by Ms. Dhanya S., Child Development Project Officer, Poonamallee.

The lecture aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) programme and its role in improving the health and nutritional status of mothers and children. Participants will gain practical insights into maternal and child health services, Anganwadi-based interventions, and the implementation of community nutrition programmes.

By the end of the session, students will be able to understand the objectives and services of ICDS, recognise the importance of nutrition across the life cycle, appreciate the role of Anganwadi Centres, and strengthen their knowledge of public health nutrition and community-based interventions.
