The Department of Visual Communication, S.A. College of Arts and Science, organized an educational visit to DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum on 1 August 2026 as part of the academic curriculum. A total of 47 students participated in the visit under the guidance of the faculty members.
The visit provided students with an opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage, traditional architecture, folk arts, crafts, and lifestyles of South India. Students explored the heritage houses, museum exhibits, artisan workshops, and cultural displays, gaining practical exposure beyond the classroom.
As part of their learning activities, students captured photographs and videos to enhance their understanding of visual storytelling, composition, documentary photography, and cultural documentation. The visit also encouraged observation skills, creativity, and appreciation for traditional art forms.
Overall, the educational visit was highly informative and engaging. It successfully enriched the students’ academic knowledge while providing valuable practical learning experiences related to visual communication and media studies.
