S.A. College Students Explore the Art of Visual Effects at Pixel Alchemy Workshop

The Department of Visual Communication, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a one-day workshop titled “Pixel Alchemy – The Art of Visual Effects” on 12 August 2026 at the SACAS Theatre. The workshop provided students with an opportunity to explore the creative and technical aspects of Visual Effects (VFX) and understand its growing role in modern media and entertainment.

The session featured industry experts Mr. Balaji Parthiban, 2D Supervisor, BOT VFX, and Mr. A.B. Govardhan, Creative Department Head, BOT VFX, as resource persons. They shared valuable insights into professional VFX workflows, creative processes, and the skills required to build a career in the visual effects industry.

Through interactive sessions, students learned how creativity, technology, and visual storytelling combine to create impactful visual experiences. The workshop also helped students connect classroom learning with real-world industry practices.

Mr. Prabakaran K., Convenor and Assistant Professor, coordinated the programme. The workshop concluded successfully, inspiring students to explore new possibilities in VFX and pursue creative opportunities in the rapidly evolving visual media industry.
