The Department of Commerce (Bank Management), S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), is organizing an HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme on 19 August 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at the SACAS Auditorium.
The programme is organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about HIV/AIDS, its prevention, modes of transmission, available support systems, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The session will also focus on addressing common misconceptions and promoting a better understanding of HIV/AIDS.
The programme will feature Mr. S. Arputhanesan, Counselling Psychologist and Life Skills Coach, Counsellor, ICTC, Southern Railway Hospital, TANSACS, Chennai, as the Resource Person. His professional expertise will provide students with valuable insights into health awareness, responsible decision-making, emotional well-being, and the importance of seeking appropriate guidance and support.
The initiative aims to empower students with accurate knowledge and encourage them to become responsible contributors to a healthy, informed, compassionate, and stigma-free society. Through meaningful interaction and awareness-building, the programme seeks to foster empathy, social responsibility, and a positive attitude towards people affected by HIV/AIDS.
