The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics (HS-NFSMD), S.A. College of Arts & Science, strengthened its industry–academia partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deepam Hospitals Group on 17 August 2026.

The MoU aims to create valuable opportunities for students through seminars, workshops, internships, industrial visits, project work, skill development programmes, curriculum enrichment, consultancy, and research and development activities.

The collaboration will provide students with greater exposure to real-world professional environments, enabling them to gain practical knowledge, industry-relevant skills, and valuable professional experience. It will also contribute to bridging the gap between classroom learning and professional practice.

This initiative reflects the Department’s commitment to promote experiential learning and preparing students for diverse career opportunities in healthcare, nutrition, food service, and allied sectors. The collaboration is expected to foster knowledge exchange, professional development, and meaningful academic and industry engagement.
