The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized an HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme on 19 August 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at the SACAS Auditorium. Mr. S. Arputhanesan, Counselling Psychologist and Life Skills Coach, Counsellor, ICTC, Southern Railway Hospital, TANSACS, Chennai, served as the Resource Person. The session provided students with valuable information on HIV/AIDS, including its causes, modes of transmission, prevention, treatment, and the importance of timely healthcare and counselling. The resource person also addressed common myths and misconceptions and emphasized the need to eliminate fear, stigma, and discrimination against people living with HIV. Students were encouraged to make responsible health choices, maintain healthy lifestyles, and approach HIV/AIDS-related concerns with empathy and sensitivity. The interactive session witnessed the active participation of 161 students and faculty members. The programme successfully strengthened health awareness, social responsibility, and compassionate attitudes among the participants, inspiring them to become responsible awareness ambassadors in their communities.
