PG Department of Commerce General, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a One-Day IKS (Indian Knowledge System) Educational Visit on 19 August 2026

The PG Department of Commerce General, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a One-Day IKS (Indian Knowledge System) Educational Visit to Pondicherry for M.Com. (General) students on 19 August 2026. The visit aimed to connect classroom learning with the rich historical, cultural, spiritual, and heritage traditions of Pondicherry.

As part of the educational visit, students explored several significant places, including the French Library, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Mahatma Gandhi Statue, French War Memorial, and Tribute Wall, along with other heritage sites. The French Library introduced students to Pondicherry’s literary and intellectual heritage, while the Sri Aurobindo Ashram offered insights into the spiritual and philosophical contributions of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The Mahatma Gandhi Statue highlighted the values of peace, truth, and non-violence. The French War Memorial and Tribute Wall provided opportunities to understand history, remembrance, and cultural heritage.

The visit enriched students’ understanding of Indian knowledge, history, culture, literature, architecture, and social values while highlighting Pondicherry’s unique multicultural heritage.
