Department of Tamil, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a poetry workshop on 15.09.2026

The Department of Tamil, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a poetry workshop titled “You Too Can Become a Poet!” on September 15, 2026. Tamil Nadu Government Award-winning poet Mr. Cuddalore Kalidas was the special guest.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. Sayi Satyavathi, Director – Administration and CDC Dr. K. S. Prabakar, and Principal Dr. S. Anbalagan.

The event began with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Jessie Carmel, II Year English student, delivered the welcome address, while Mariyammal, II Year Business Administration student, introduced the chief guest.

Poet Kalidas introduced students to the works of renowned poets including Vaali, Kannadasan, Vairamuthu, Na. Muthukumar and Muthu Nilavan. Through interactive activities, students composed and presented their own poems. The workshop inspired students to explore their creativity and encouraged them to pursue poetry writing. Santhini, II Year Commerce student, proposed the vote of thanks.
