NOVAZEN’26 Inter-Collegiate Technical Symposium Conducted at SACAS

The Department of Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence of S. A. College of Arts & Science organized “NOVAZEN’26”, an Inter-Collegiate Technical Symposium, on 5th March 2026. The programme began with a warm welcome and formal inauguration, creating an energetic atmosphere for the participants. Around 280 students from various colleges actively took part in the symposium.

The event included five technical competitions and two non-technical events, providing students with opportunities to display their technical knowledge, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

The Chief Guest, Saravanan Thiagarajan, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of innovation, industry readiness, and continuous learning in the rapidly evolving technological world. His speech encouraged students to strengthen their skills and remain updated with advancements in Artificial Intelligence.

Participants showed great enthusiasm and competitive spirit throughout the events. Winners were awarded for their outstanding performance. Overall, NOVAZEN’26 was conducted successfully and served as an enriching experience for all the participants.

The Department of Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence organized a vibrant and energetic flash mob on 12th February 2025 as part of the promotional activities for NOVAGEN’25, the department’s upcoming intercollegiate symposium.

The flash mob was conducted within the campus premises to create awareness and excitement among students about the symposium. The performance showcased the enthusiasm, creativity, and team spirit of the students, drawing significant attention from the audience.

The initiative successfully generated curiosity and interest about NOVAGEN’25, encouraging active participation from students across various departments and institutions.

Hands-on Workshop on AI and Machine Learning at IIT Madras Research Park.

A One-day workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was successfully conducted on 10 January 2026 at GEMLABS, IIT Madras Research Park, Guindy. The programme was organized by GEMLABS in association with S.A. College of Arts & Science for the students of the Department of Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence.

The session was led by Mr. Vinish, who gave a clear and practical introduction to AI fundamentals. He explained important areas such as Artificial Intelligence basics, Data Science, Data Analyst roles, and Machine Learning Engineering. Students were also introduced to the Windsurf Editor, an AI-powered coding tool that supports real-time development.

A live demonstration using Plotly helped students understand data visualization through radar graphs. The speaker also explained the seven major AI patterns and highlighted AI-based certification courses like PMI–CPMAI. The workshop concluded with insights into future AI trends, making the session informative, engaging, and highly beneficial for students.

“Make Yourself Irreplaceable – Powered by AI Skills” Inspires Future Tech Leaders at SACAS.

The Department of Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence, at S.A College of Arts & Science, successfully organized a Guest lecture titled “Make Yourself Irreplaceable – Powered by AI Skills” on 07/01/2026. The session was delivered by Mr. Arun Charles, QA Automation, Venzo Technologies, who shared valuable insights into the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence.

During the lecture, Mr. Arun Charles explained AI as the ability of machines to learn, think, and make decisions. He emphasized the importance of prompt design, quality data, content creation, and feedback in developing effective AI-driven systems. The session also covered key Machine Learning concepts, helping students understand how AI models function behind the scenes.

Live practical demonstrations on Generative AI were conducted, enabling students to grasp real-time applications of AI tools. The programme concluded with a live demonstration of a simple AI-based Spoken English software model, making the session interactive and practical. Overall, the lecture enhanced students’ awareness of AI skills and the need for a strong technological foundation in the evolving digital world.


SACAS GOLU CELEBRATION 2025

DAY - 2

The second day of the Golu celebrations at our college was marked with devotion, creativity, and cultural vibrancy. The Department of Computer Science, Computer Science Application and Computer Science with AI staff and students took the lead, with Pooja performed under the guidance of the Heads of the Departments Mr.Chandrasekar.P and Mr.Krishnan.R. The rituals invoked blessings for wisdom, harmony, and innovation. Students enriched the day with cultural performances. A graceful classical dance by Ms.Rakshitha and team  ( III BCA ) rooted in Natya Shastra (IKS) highlighted tradition, while a devotional song sung by  Ms.Lakshana ( II BCA) uplifted the spiritual mood. A student also delivered an inspiring slogan by Mr.Dharshan Raj ( III B.Sc CS), connecting values of unity, sustainability, and responsibility. Adding uniqueness, students showcased innovative Golu displays. They created a forest miniature representing India’s age-old ecological wisdom, where nature is revered as sacred, representing and emphasizing the balance between humans and the environment (IKS). spreading awareness on nature conservation, reflecting SDG 15: Life on Land. To represent their department, students designed and placed a computer model and a robot made of cardboard, symbolizing technology, creativity, and problem-solving, aligning with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and signifies the IKS philosophy of integrating tradition with innovation.

The day beautifully blended Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), cultural expression, and modern innovation, promoting SDG goals through tradition and collective participation.

The Department of CS with AI celebrated a Freshers day on 26th August ,2025. The event started at 2 pm in the afternoon. Seniors warmly welcomed junior students with special games and talent shows. Two first-year students showcased their skills by playing the keyboard and singing a song. Several students participated in stage performances, displaying their talents. The event was filled with enthusiasm and excitement. The seniors presented welcome gifts to the juniors. The program concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impression. It was a memorable day for all participants. The event marked a wonderful beginning for the juniors in their new academic journey.

Unlocking Web Development:  Django & Python Workshop at SACAS.

The Department of Computer Science with AI, at S.A. College of Arts & Science recently organized a successful hands-on workshop featuring expert trainer Mr. Senthilan, who introduced students to the power of Python and the Django web framework.

The session began with the basics of Python, emphasizing its simplicity and wide usage, and then moved into Django’s core features like apps, models, views, and the MVT architecture. Students explored key web development concepts such as URL routing, templates, forms, and both front-end and back-end design.

A live demo guided students through installing Django and creating a project from scratch. Practical exercises helped them build simple web applications, reinforcing their learning through real-time coding.

The workshop provided a solid foundation in web development, leaving participants more confident in creating dynamic, database-driven websites. The event was a major step toward helping students bridge the gap between theory and practical implementation in modern web technologies.

SACAS Students Unite for World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

The Department of Computer Science with AI at S.A. College of Arts & Science observed the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30, 2025, through an impactful awareness program. Held on campus, the event brought together students from various departments for a series of thought-provoking group discussions.

Key issues addressed included child labour, Sexual exploitation, kidnapping through fake advertisements, and the role of labor organizations. Participants also explored solutions such as child protection initiatives, the Right to Education (RTE), NGO schemes, and the importance of mental health awareness.

The session aimed to deepen student understanding of human trafficking and promote action against it. A powerful resolution was adopted, declaring that childhood is a right, not a privilege, and underscoring the value of education and healthcare for all.

Students pledged their support to the Blue Heart Society, vowing to turn awareness into sustained action beyond the event.

Empowering Girls for the Future: SACAS Hosts Job Readiness Orientation

The Department of Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a free Orientation Program titled “Job Readiness Skills for Girls” on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The event took place from 2 PM to 3 PM at the SACAS Auditorium and was exclusively conducted for all II and III year female students.

Mr. B. Shankar from Team Everest led the session, which aimed to equip young women with essential career skills. The orientation was part of a broader initiative addressing the low 22% female employment rate. The main program included a 75-day training with 13 sessions on resume building, “Learning with AI,” and more. Participants received a ₹1000 stipend and a certificate upon successful completion.

The event inspired students and boosted their confidence, reflecting SACAS’s commitment to empowering women and promoting inclusive employment opportunities through practical and impactful learning experiences.

SACAS Hosts International Workshop on AI-Powered Healthcare Workstations

The Department of Computer Science with AI at S.A. College of Arts & Science successfully conducted a one-day International Workshop titled “AI PC Revolution: Building Next-Gen Healthcare Workstations” on 12th July 2025 at the College Auditorium and AI Lab.

The resource person for the event was Akshay Bhuvaneshwari Ramakrishnas, RA@LCICM Hopkins Medicine & Intel Innovator, who led the sessions with great expertise and insight.

The workshop featured in-depth discussions on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, emphasizing their transformative role in the healthcare sector. Participants gained exposure to the AI data pipeline—data integration, cleaning, transformation, and normalization—particularly tailored for medical applications.

A major highlight was the introduction to Intel Tiber Cloud and its advantages over traditional platforms like Google Colab, illustrated through a comparative study on pneumonia detection. The hands-on sessions offered practical training in Kaggle, OpenAI tools, and GitHub for AI-driven medical imaging projects.

The workshop offered a rich blend of theoretical knowledge and real-world application, equipping attendees with valuable technical skills and insights. It marked a significant move toward integrating AI in future healthcare solutions.
