Objective: The awareness session was organized to commemorate World Organ Donation Day by educating students and staff about the importance of organ donation. The session aimed to highlight the value of organ donation and to inspire participants to become organ donors

The Department of Computer Applications, in association with the Department of Computer Science at S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a special event to commemorate World Organ Donation Day. The event featured esteemed guests, Dr. Sankara Subramanian, a renowned neurologist, and Mr. Ganesh from the Mohan Foundation, who both delivered insightful talks highlighting the importance of organ donation.

The session began with a keynote address by Dr. Sankara Subramanian. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of brain health and the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle. He stressed the importance of early bedtimes, consuming high-protein foods, and taking proactive measures to protect our organs. His advice resonated with the audience, encouraging them to be more mindful of their daily habits in order to maintain overall well-being.

Mr. Ganesh from the Mohan Foundation followed with an informative discussion on the value of each organ in the human body. He detailed the critical role that organs play in sustaining life and elaborated on how organ donation can save countless lives. Department of Computer Science and Department of Computer Applications organized a significant national workshop titled "Unlocking the Power of AI (Exploring ChatGPT, Prompt Engineering & Co-Pilot)"on 27.07.2024

SACAS Hosts National Workshop on AI Advancements On July 27, 2024, S.A. College of Arts & Science, Department of Computer Science and Department of Computer Applications organized a significant national workshop titled "Unlocking the Power of AI (Exploring ChatGPT, Prompt Engineering & Co-Pilot)". The event featured Mr. Sathish Raja, System Software Engineer at HP Inc., Bangalore, and Mr. Balachandar K, Senior Software Engineer at Lionbridge Technologies, Chennai, as key speakers. Mr. Sathish Raja's session commenced with an exploration of Machine Learning, followed by insights into AI fundamentals, Gen AI, and the practical application of Prompt Engineering through a live demonstration. Subsequently, Mr. Balachandar K engaged participants with topics on UI/UX design, Front End Basics, and Co-Pilot, culminating in a live project demonstration and hands-on session. The workshop attracted a total of 127 participants, including 47 onsite and 80 online attendees from various colleges nationwide. It provided a comprehensive platform for learning and skill development in cutting-edge AI technologies, fostering collaboration and knowledge dissemination among aspiring technologists and industry professionals alike.


The Skill Elevation Club of the Department of Computer Applications - expert Lecture on Ethical Hacking on 09.07.2024

The Skill Elevation Club of the Department of Computer Applications of S.A College of Arts & Science organized an expert Lecture on Ethical Hacking at the college auditorium on 09-07-2024.

The Resource Person for the Expert lecture was Mr. Santosh Chaluvadi, CEO, Supraja Technologies. He, being an expert in cyber security and ethical hacking, delivered an enlightening session aimed at broadening students' understanding of cybersecurity and the role of ethical hacking in today's digital landscape. The expert lecture started with the welcome note from Mr.P.Chandrasekar , Head, Department of Computer Science and Applications followed by the speaker’s session.. The Speaker discussed the critical need for ethical hackers in protecting organizations from cyber threats. He highlighted real-world examples where ethical hacking has helped prevent cyber-attacks and data breaches. Finally he provided insights into career paths in ethical hacking and cybersecurity and shared information on certifications and skills required to pursue a career in this field. He encouraged students to consider ethical hacking as a career option and provided guidance on how to get started. We thank our Correspondent, Director and Principal for providing us with this wonderful opportunity to organize this Expert Lecture.

The Skill Elevation Club of the Department of Computer Science & Applications of S.A College of Arts & Science organized an expert talk  on “Job Opportunities in Cyber Security” on account of the Department Valedictory function at the college auditorium on 10-04-2024. The expert talk on job opportunities in cyber security was organized to provide insights into the rapidly evolving field of cyber security and to enlighten the students about the diverse career paths available within this domain. The session aimed to highlight the increasing demand for skilled cyber security professionals and provide guidance on how individuals can prepare themselves for lucrative careers in this field. The Resource Person for the event was Ms.Shobana.M, Tech Lead, SMK Technologies Pvt Ltd, Chennai.

The Department of Computer Science and Applications organized an Awareness session on *Reducing Mental Stress during Placement Drives* on 3.2.2024 by our BCA Alumni students Mr.Abu and Mr.Vignesh currently working as Technical Support Engineers,Flowserve Technologies,Chennai.

During the session they gave various tips and techniques to handle interviews without fear and stress.

All together the session was very useful to our final year students.

Computer science Freshers day-” Fledgling Fiesta” on 18.10.2023

The Department of Computer Science and Applications of S.A.College of Arts & Science conducted Freshers day programme for the classes of First year BCA,B.Sc. Computer Science,B.Sc. Computer Science with Artificial intelligence students in the College Auditorium today ,(18-10-2023).

Various games and activities were organized for the students and all the students actively participated and enjoyed the event.

 


Inter college meet’23 on 17.10.2023

The Department of Computer Science and Applications students won First prize in Paper Presentation, Second prize in Art from the Waste and  Second prize in Adzap in the Inter College  Meet '23 conducted today at Nazareth College of Arts and Science. 


Inauguration of the Skill Elevation Club on 27.09.2023

The Department of Computer Science & Applications inaugurated of the Skill Elevation Club on 27.09.2023.   The inauguration was between 10.00 a.m. and 12. 00 p.m. at the Preview Theatre. 

Mr.S. Benny Mithun G.R, General Manager, Emerald Global Automation India, was the resource person of the Inauguration. He inaugurated the club and delivered his inaugural address.

He said,”It is indeed a momentous occasion for all of us as we embark on a journey of self-improvement and skill enhancement. This club is a testament to our commitment to nurture well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also possess a wide array of practical skills”. Mr.P. Chandrasekar, the head of the department listed the planned events for the year under the club. The event garnered strong support from the correspondent Mr.P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr.V.Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr.Malathi Selvakkumar.
