MOU was signed to provide a holistic learning experience that includes immersive lectures, peer discussions, practical projects, soft skills training, and dedicated career services such as resume building and interview preparation.

S.A. College of Arts & Science** joyfully marks the occasion of *National Nutrition Month – September 2025* with an inspiring initiative. The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics organised a unique campaign titled *“Thumbs Up for Nutrition”* through an *In-Campus Finger Printing Activity*.

The campaign symbolised the collective commitment of students and staff towards healthy eating and balanced living. By leaving their colourful fingerprints, participants pledged to embrace nutritious choices that support overall health and well-being. The activity not only created a vibrant display of unity but also served as a creative reminder of the importance of nutrition in daily life.

This celebration aimed at spreading awareness on making mindful dietary habits, reducing junk food consumption, and promoting balanced meals. With the message *“Let’s leave a mark for a healthier you!”*, the campaign reflected the spirit of *Suposhit Bharat* and sustainable health practices.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a workshop on communication for future leaders from 01/09/2025 to 03/09/2025, Timing: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the SACAS Theatre. Mr. Narendranath uppala, Chief mentor of Narenn edutech consulting Malaysia, was the guest speaker. 

The speaker covered overall English communication, helping students understand nouns, adjectives, prepositions, tenses, and more. He encouraged everyone to answer in order to improve their communication skills. Many students took the opportunity to participate by responding to the questions. The session provided practical exposure on how to use proper words while speaking in English. Every student gained a clear understanding of the basics of grammar and learned to form sentences without mistakes. The students also developed the courage to stand up and speak in English. Real-life examples and incidents were shared to enhance student efficiency. Overall, the session was enriching and impactful for every student, as individuals were given the chance to both speak and write in English.

Event Highlights

  The program commenced on schedule at 9:00 AM with a warm welcome address   by the Department of Visual Communication.

 The Head of the Department felicitated the chief guests, acknowledging their contributions to cinema.

 A series of interactive sessions were conducted where students engaged actively with the guests, raising several insightful and technical questions related to filmmaking, acting,                   cinematography, lyrics, direction, and production.

The discussions provided students with practical industry knowledge, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of future internship opportunities by the producer and director, offering students a platform to gain real-world exposure in the film industry.

The Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the Mathelets Club organized     an Inter Collegiate event MATH MAESTRO commenced with a welcome Address by Dr. G. Ambika, Head of Mathematics, and a special recognition of the Chief Guest, Mr.BalaChandar Sundarmoorthy Financial SAP Assistant  TCS Chennai, Tamil Nadu,    followed by the Special lecture along with 4 events conducted by our SACAS  alumni Mathelets club members as an event Judge.Total no.of participants 183. Overall Trophy won by Loyola college  and Cash prizes given to the winners and runners .

 The event received unwavering support from the Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar reaffirming the institution's commitment to promoting the department events.

The Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance), the SACAS Fin.Tech Club, and the SACAS Association of Accounting and Finance Professionals were proud to host INNOBIZ 2025 -AI in Finance Hackathon with a theme of Innovate, Compete, Conquer.

It was conducted on a Friday, 30 th August 2025, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM in SACAS Campus, Poonamallee - Avadi Main Road, Thiruverkadu, chennai - 600077.

Objective of the Event

The hackathon was to bring about innovativeness, critical thinking and entrepreneurial nature among young minds by exposing them to the future of finance that is integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI). It was strictly aimed at the students of Classes 9 to 12 and offered them an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and creative ideas.

The event witnessed active participation from five leading schools:

  3. AI in Finance Model - The Teams prepared models by showing the role of AI in revolutionizing finance.
  4. Elevator Pitch Contest- A competition where participants summarised and presented creative concepts in business in a short time.
  5. Reverse Pitching Challenge - This was a one-of-a-kind event and the judges asked problems and students provided solutions.
  6. Prompt Challenge - A time-based competition that depends on an AI-based challenge to test skill and creativity.

SACAS Launches Integrity Club to Promote Ethics and Responsibility.

The Department of Computer Application & Commerce , S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized the Inaugural Ceremony of the Integrity Club on 29th August 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the SACAS Auditorium. The eventwas  attended  by 120 students, aimed to instill values of honesty, ethics, and responsibility, in line with SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

The program began with a welcome address followed by the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the formal launch of the club. The Guest of Honour, Shri. N. Sridhar, CGM (L&D), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the role of integrity in personal and professional growth. He shared real-life corporate experiences that highlighted how ethics and responsibility shape strong leaders.

Students then took an Oath of Integrity, pledging to uphold truth, fairness, and accountability. Certificates of participation were distributed, marking their commitment to ethical conduct.

The event created a strong impact, motivating students to embrace integrity as a lifelong value. It also laid the foundation for future awareness programs and activities under the Integrity Club, promoting a culture of fairness and respect on campus.

Major Dhyan Chand (29 August 1905 – 3 December 1979) was an Indian field hockey player. He is widely regarded as the greatest field hockey player in history.He was known for his extraordinary ball control and goal-scoring feats, in addition to earning three Olympic gold medals, in 1928, 1932 and 1936, during an era where India dominated field hockey. Dhyan Chand's influence extended beyond these victories, as India won the field hockey event in seven out of eight Olympics from 1928 to 1964.

The Department of Psychology hosted a Guest Lecture on “Counseling skills - understanding the Micro and macro perspectives “ at the SACAS Auditorium on (29/08/2025) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The lecture emphasized counselling as a bridge between personal well-being and social change. It explored micro skills like empathy, listening, and therapeutic presence, as well as macro skills that influence communities, educational practices, and gender equality.
Key academic insights covered:
● Classical theories: Psychoanalysis, Behaviour & Cognitive Therapy, Humanistic & Existential Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy.
● Contemporary theories: Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
● Psychological foundations such as levels of consciousness, defense mechanisms, and the idea of tabula rasa .
Interactive activities encouraged participants to reflect on emotions by writing down experiences of anger or sadness, thereby applying theoretical concepts in a self-reflective manner. The lecture highlighted how counselling equips individuals with both practical coping skills and a societal outlook that advances mental health awareness, educational development, and gender inclusivity.
Both sessions by the Department of Psychology and the Wabi-Sabi Forum offered a blend of leadership, knowledge, and self-development, leaving students inspired and empowered.
