S.A College of Arts & Science, School of Management, organized a guest lecture titled “Entrepreneurship – A Curtain Raiser” to introduce students to the dynamic world of entrepreneurship. The session was delivered by Dr. K. Sankara Moorthy, Faculty of Management, SRMIST, Kattankulathur.

The lecture provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in today’s business landscape. With an interactive approach, more than 50 students from various departments actively participated in discussions, engaging in thought-provoking conversations about startup culture, risk management, and business strategies.

Dr. Moorthy encouraged students to ask questions, offering practical knowledge backed by real-world examples. The session inspired aspiring entrepreneurs to explore innovative ideas and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. The event was a great success, equipping students with a strong foundation in business innovation and problem-solving.

S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with Bisleri, organized a Clean-Up Drive at Thiruverkadu Municipality for Global Recycling Day. Sixty students from the Rotaract Club, UBA, and NSS, supported by municipality workers, cleaned a 2 km stretch, collecting plastic waste. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about recycling and responsible waste disposal. Volunteers educated residents on plastic pollution, encouraging sustainable habits. The event fostered community participation and environmental responsibility. Despite challenges like excessive waste, the drive was a success, highlighting the power of collective action in promoting a cleaner and greener future.

S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Annual Sports Meet 2025 with Grandeur Chennai, March 15, 2025 – The Annual Sports Meet 2025 at S.A. College of Arts & Science unfolded with remarkable enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship, perseverance, and discipline. The event witnessed vibrant participation from students across disciplines, transforming the campus into a hub of spirited competition.

The esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Amalraj Anthony Arputharaj, a distinguished table tennis player and Arjuna Awardee (2017), graced the occasion. In his keynote address, he underscored the importance of patriotism, urging students to channel their dedication and commitment not only into sports but also toward the greater cause of nation-building.

The day’s proceedings featured a series of track and field events, with competitors displaying outstanding athleticism and determination. The championship race culminated with the Department of Bank Management clinching the Women’s Overall Championship, while the Department of Commerce (General) secured the Men’s Overall Championship. The Marchpast Trophy, a testament to discipline and coordination, was awarded to the Department of Computer Applications for their exemplary performance.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were felicitated in the presence of faculty members and dignitaries. The management lauded the efforts of students and staff in orchestrating a seamless event, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering excellence in both academics and sports.

The Training and Placement Cell of SACAS organized an industrial visit for 25 students from B.Com (Accounting & Finance) to Brakes India on 15/03/2025. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into cost control, and accounting practices within a manufacturing environment. Students were given a guided tour of the facility, where they observed the production process, inventory management. Experts from the company explained how they engage in production with safety measures followed by HR policies and cost analysis which plays a crucial role in the industry. The visit bridged the gap between academic concepts and real-world applications, enhancing students' understanding of corporate manufacturing process.

The Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) at S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), in association with the SACAS Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals and SACAS’ians Fin.Tech Club, organized an engaging guest lecture on "Seamless Logistics – Endless Possibilities" at the SACAS Preview Theatre. The event featured Mr. Venkataramanan, Senior Officer at Delphi TVS Technologies, as the keynote speaker.

The lecture aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the logistics sector, highlighting its crucial role in modern commerce and finance. Mr. Venkataramanan delved into key topics, including supply chain optimization, digital transformation in logistics, and the increasing demand for efficient transportation and warehousing solutions. He emphasized how technology-driven logistics solutions, such as AI, automation, and blockchain, are revolutionizing the industry, enabling businesses to operate more smoothly and cost-effectively. The Department of Corporate Secretaryship and The Corporate Governance Professionals' Association organised the Farewell’ 25 for the third year students. The session commenced at 1:00 p.m., bringing together students and faculty for a memorable send-off. The event featured heartfelt speeches, nostalgic reflections, and moments of appreciation, making it a fitting tribute to the graduating class.

A special AV was prepared by the 1st and 2nd year students which was screened during the farewell session. The AV was dedicated to the 3rd year students, highlighting their journey, achievements, and memorable moments over the years. It featured heartfelt messages from professors, juniors, and friends, expressing gratitude and best wishes for their future endeavour.

The 2nd year students, Megavanan, Karthikeyan G and Hemanth JK captivated the audience with their hype and electrical dance performance. Dhivya Darshini and Abhitha from 2nd year and Janani from 1st year sang heartwarming songs that enlightened the atmosphere with their soulful melodies. The 2nd year boys created a compilation of memes dedicated to the 3rd year seniors and the faculty members, sparking laughs and giggles across the gathering.

The 3rd year students and faculty members exchanged heartfelt words, making the farewell an emotionally charged and unforgettable experience.

Several entertaining games were conducted, adding an element of fun and excitement to the event. The games were designed to engage both students and faculty, fostering a lively and interactive atmosphere.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship and The Corporate Governance Professionals' Association organized its Department Day. The session started by 2: 00 pm with Invocation and lighting of the lamp. The event featured the chief guest CA R. Krishnamurthy, Risk and Compliance Evangelist, formerly associated with as GENERAL MANAGER @ WIPRO, VICE-PRESIDENT BPS @ TCS, MANAGING DIRECTOR @ CHEMOIL CORP.

Gayathri Priya and Divya Darshini, Council Representatives, captivated the audience with their graceful and enchanting classical dance performance. Following this, Vignesh P, General Secretary, along with Thenissai K, Council Representative, and Guna Seelan R, Manoj K, and Shalini R Y, mesmerized the gathering with their professional and exhilarating Corporate Walk performance.

During the celebration, a special audiovisual (AV) presentation dedicated to Department Day was screened. The AV provided a comprehensive overview of the remarkable achievements, hard work, and contributions of the department's students. It highlighted their academic excellence, extracurricular accomplishments, and collaborative efforts, showcasing the dedication and spirit that define the department.

Mrs. R. Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Professor, presented the Annual Report of the department, offering a detailed account of its activities and accomplishments over the academic year 2024–2025. The report highlighted a comprehensive list of events organized by the department, the esteemed chief guests who graced the occasions, and the winners who excelled in various competitions along with the prestigious prizes they received. Additionally, it showcased remarkable student achievements, academic milestones, and other significant contributions.

The chief guest, CA R. Krishnamurthy, a Risk and Compliance Evangelist, formerly associated with Wipro as General Manager, TCS as Vice President - BPS, and Chemoil Corp as Managing Director, delivered a thoughtful and insightful guest lecture. His session provided students with valuable perspectives on risk evangelism, strategic thinking and planning, the significance of effective communication, decision-making, and excellence in emotional intelligence. He elaborated on the uncertainties associated with risk and various methodologies to manage them effectively. His expertise and practical insights enriched the students' understanding, encouraging them to develop a proactive approach to risk management and leadership in their respective fields. 

The alumni shared their diverse experiences from their respective corporate fields and professions, offering valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities they encountered. They inspired the students with their success stories, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, skill development, and adaptability in the professional world.
