The Department of Visual Communication, Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, in collaboration with the ED Cell and Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) at S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized a *“Hands-On Drone Workshop” on March 12, 2025, at the SACAS campus.*
The session was led by *Mr. Solaiyappan Ganesan* from *GMS Drone Enterprise,* who provided an enriching learning experience for the participants. He shared in-depth insights into drone technology, its significance, and its diverse applications across various industries.
During the workshop, *Mr. Ganesan* elaborated on the role of drones in agriculture, surveillance, filmmaking, and disaster management, while also shedding light on the promising career opportunities in the rapidly evolving drone industry. He guided students on how they could build a future in this field, emphasizing the growing demand for drone technology experts.
The session also highlighted the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and automation benefits of drone usage. Participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in drone assembly, flight control, and operations, enhancing their technical proficiency and practical understanding.
With nearly 180 students in attendance, the workshop proved to be an engaging and insightful experience. It not only broadened students’ knowledge of drone technology but also inspired them to explore new possibilities in this dynamic field.

S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Inspiring Guest Lecture on "Flora & Fauna" March 11, 2025: The Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) at S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the SACAS Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals and SACAS’ians Fin.Tech Club, successfully hosted a guest lecture on "Flora & Fauna" at the SACAS Auditorium. The event, organized in partnership with SANS Animal Welfare Trust & Awareness India Movement, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty.
Eminent speakers Mrs. Sudha Chandrasekhar, Chairperson of SANS Animal Welfare Trust, and Mr. Vetrivel Kumaravel, Founder of Awareness India Movement, emphasized biodiversity conservation and sustainable practices. Their insights aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – Climate Action, Life Below Water, and Life on Land.
The interactive session inspired students to engage in environmental initiatives, reinforcing SACAS’ commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility. The institution looks forward to more such impactful events in the future.

SACAS Celebrates Academic Triumph at Graduation Day Chennai, March 10, 2025 – S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS) marked a momentous occasion with its Graduation Day, celebrating the academic achievements of 350 graduates. The event, held at the college premises, was graced by the distinguished presence of Dr. Irai Anbu, Former Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu, as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Irai Anbu delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the role of perseverance, knowledge, and character in shaping a successful career. His words resonated deeply with the graduating students, motivating them to contribute meaningfully to society.
The ceremony commenced with a formal academic procession, followed by an invocation and a warm welcome address. The dignitaries on the dais included Thiru S. Gopinath, Joint Secretary; Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, Director; Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal; and Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent. The administration extended their heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, acknowledging their hard work and commitment.

School of Management inaugurated “SAMBAWI” Women In Business Forum on 05.03.2025
The School of Management inaugurated “SAMBAWI” Women In Business Forum on 5-02-2025. Mrs. Archana Rajamanickam , HR Leader, Bonfiglioli Technology Space, Chennai inaugurated SAMBAWI . Mrs.Archana in her inaugural address said that women symbolises power and emphasised the need for having SMART Goals and Dreams for achieving success. The inauguration was followed Workshop on Legal Status of Women by Mrs.Adhilakshmi Logamurthy, Advocate, Accredited Mediator- Arbitrator, High Court –Madras. Mrs. Adhilakshmi, educated the students on Rights of the girl child and legal protection given to a girl child through a story. She highlighted the need for women to appreciate herself and never to feel being let down by others words against her. The workshop was very interactive and the students felt motivated.

SACAS Organizes Mega Blood Donation Camp - 'Kurudhikodai 2025' Chennai, March 4, 2025 – The National Service Scheme (NSS), Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and the Rotary Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a massive blood donation camp titled 'Kurudhikodai 2025' in association with Right Trust Blood Bank at the college auditorium.
With overwhelming participation from students, 102 units of blood were donated, marking a significant contribution towards saving lives. The event saw enthusiastic volunteers stepping forward selflessly to support this noble cause.
The college extends its heartfelt gratitude to Thiru. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent, Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, Director, and Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal, for their guidance and encouragement. A special thanks to all department heads, faculty members, and non-teaching staff for their unwavering support in making this event a grand success.

Department of HS-NFSMD and F3 Nutrition Club organised National Science Day celebration on 28.02.2025
National Science Day is being celebrated to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by physicist C.V. Raman on February 28.The theme for National Science Day 2025 is "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.
Department of HS-NFSMD and F3 Nutrition Club organised National Science Day celebration on 28th February 2025.
Various charts and posters emphasizing various sectors of Nutrition science were prepared and exhibited. Chemistry related games were arranged for the students. Models on human physiology, food pyramid and my plate were also exhibited
Live food analysis on adulteration were also performed by the students.

The event featured Mr. Vasanth R., Program Manager at Assurecare Healthtech LLP, as the Chief Guest.
Focusing on upskilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning, Mr. Vasanth emphasized the importance of adapting to technological advancements in fields like AI, Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity. SACAS Hosts Vibrant Cultural Fest 'ZIYA 2K25' Chennai, March 1, 2025 – S.A. College of Arts & Science came alive with energy and creativity as it hosted ZIYA 2K25, an intra-college cultural festival, on its premises from 12:00 PM onwards. The grand event provided a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents in music, dance, drama, and various cultural competitions.
Renowned Vijay TV fame Mr. Pugazh, known for his humor and entertainment, graced the occasion, adding excitement and laughter to the celebrations. Students participated enthusiastically, displaying their creativity, teamwork, and passion for cultural arts. The event featured a variety of performances that captivated the audience, making it a memorable day for all.

SACAS Celebrates College Day with Enthusiasm and Honor Chennai, March 1, 2025 – S.A. College of Arts & Science celebrated its College Day with grandeur at the SACAS Auditorium. The event commenced with Thamizh Thai Vazthu and the traditional lighting of the Kuthu Vilakku. Mr. M. Vijay Kumar, Assistant Professor & HOD of Tamil, delivered the welcome address.
The Presidential Address was given by the Chairman, Secretary, and Correspondent of SACAS, followed by the College Annual Report presented by Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal. Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, Director, introduced the Chief Guest, Kalaimamani Dr. G. GnanaSambandan, a renowned professor, orator, writer, and actor, who delivered an inspiring speech.
The event featured the release of the college magazine, prize distribution, and concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. S. Ganapathy, Asst. Prof. & HOD, Corporate Secretaryship. The celebration ended with the National Anthem, marking a successful and memorable occasion.















Department of Computer Science GUEST LECTURE ON IoT AND ITS APPLICATIONS on 27.02.2025
A guest lecture on “IoT and Its Applications” was organized on 27th February 2025 at SACAS Auditorium. The session was conducted by Mr. B. Abdul Azhar, an AI/ML Engineer from TechKnots Academy LLP. The objective of the lecture was to introduce students to the fundamentals of the Internet of Things (IoT) and its real-world applications.
Mr. Azhar began the session by explaining IoT, its significance, and how it connects devices through the internet to automate processes and improve efficiency. He highlighted how IoT is transforming industries such as healthcare, agriculture, and smart cities.
He then discussed the difference between a controller and a processor, emphasizing that controllers are dedicated to executing specific tasks efficiently, while processors handle more complex computations required for multitasking.
The role of sensors in IoT was another key topic. He explained various types of sensors, such as temperature, motion, and humidity sensors, and how they help in data collection for IoT applications.
Moving forward, Mr. Azhar introduced students to types of microcontrollers, including popular ones like ATmega328 (used in Arduino) and ESP8266 (used in IoT applications). He also discussed the different types of Arduino boards used in IoT, such as Arduino Uno, Mega, and Nano, highlighting their functionalities.
The session concluded with an engaging discussion on building IoT projects using personal ideas and everyday problems. Mr. Azhar encouraged students to identify real-world challenges and develop innovative IoT-based solutions.
The lecture was highly informative, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among students to explore IoT further. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker for sharing his valuable insights.
