S.A. College of Arts & Science and Indian Oil Corporation Commemorate Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 Chennai, November 7, 2024 S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), in partnership with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 with a prize distribution function, emphasizing integrity and transparency. The event commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu by the college choir, followed by a lamp lighting ceremony. Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal of SACAS, warmly welcomed attendees and honored the distinguished guests.
Key speakers included Mr. M. Sudhakar, Executive Director (RS) at IOCL, who led the Vigilance Pledge, and Mr. D. Suresh Kumar, General Manager of Vigilance at IOCL, who delivered the Presidential Address. Mr. Vetri Selvakkumar, CGM of Corporate Communication at IOCL, provided an impactful Keynote Address on the significance of vigilance.
The event concluded with prize distribution, felicitation, and a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mr. M. Bhaskar, DGM of Vigilance at IOCL, followed by the National Anthem.

Cycleathon on Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 Organized by NSS & UBA of S.A College of Arts & Science On November 6th, 2024, in celebration of Vigilance Awareness Week, a cycleathon was organized by the NSS and UBA units of S.A College of Arts & Science. The event, aimed at promoting awareness about integrity and vigilance, saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 200 students. The cycleathon commenced at 7:00 AM from the college campus and covered a scenic route through UBA-adopted villages, including Mettupalayam, Banavedu, Arunachala Nagar, Kannampalayam, and Melpakkam.
The event concluded at 9:00 AM, with students showcasing their commitment to promoting social causes. The cycleathon not only encouraged physical fitness but also highlighted the importance of vigilance in maintaining transparency and accountability in society. The successful event was a collaborative effort by the NSS and UBA teams, further strengthening the college's commitment to community engagement and awareness programs.

S. A. College of Arts & Science's Department of Physical Education organized the University of Madras Inter-Zone Men’s Best Physique, Men’s and Women’s Powerlifting, and Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Tournament 2024-2025 at the SACAS Campus on 26/10/2024. In this tournament, the Men’s Best Physique competition was conducted at the SACAS Auditorium with 8 categories. The welcome address was given by Mr. G. Sivamaran, Director of Physical Education. A special address was delivered by the beloved Principal, Dr. Malathi Selvakumar, who also presented a shawl to the special guest, Mr. Baskaran, Arjuna awardee, Mr. Universe, Mr. India, and President of TABBA. M. Arasu, M.A., Chairman of TABBA, and K. Balamurugan, General Secretary of TABBA, were also honored. V. Jayaprakash, Mr. World, was also recognized. Additionally, Tamil Nadu Weightlifting and Powerlifting officials were honored. Over 300 students from various colleges of the University of Madras participated in this tournament.Our college's top female weightlifter, pR.V.Oviya from 1st BSC NFSM&D won the gold medal in the 45kg category, and R.Aswini from 2nd BCOM BM won the gold medal in the women's powerlifting competition in the 63kg category.

Mr. Ganesh.S, Director of Technogems Inc, Chennai, was the resource person. Mr.Ganesh emphasized the importance of integrating sustainability inbusiness practices, where he explained about the Environmental sustainability focused by reducing carbon emissions, optimizing energy use, and minimizing waste. He also explained about Economic sustainability & its impact on profitability through cost-saving measures, he focused on innovation, and resilient business models. He also the need for social sustainability which promotes ethical labor practices, employee well-being, diversity, and community engagement. The session also highlighted on how businesses can implement these principles by adopting renewable energy, fostering innovation in green products, prioritizing employee welfare, and actively supporting communities.Mr.Ganesh, concluded the session by highlighting the need for embedding sustainability into core strategies by which companies can achieve profitability while creating positive environmental and social impacts. The session was interactive and students actively participated.
