The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics, in collaboration with the F3 Nutrition Club at S. A. College of Arts & Science organized a successful workshop titled “Budget Bites” on 4th August 2025. The session was led by Ms. Padmavathy, Senior Consultant Dietitian, and focused on the preparation of nutritious, low-cost recipes to promote healthy eating on a budget.
Held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the workshop emphasized creative meal planning using affordable, locally sourced ingredients. Participants enthusiastically took part in hands-on cooking sessions and explored innovative ways to make nutritious meals with limited resources.
The event also highlighted the significance of cost-effective nutrition in daily life, particularly for students and budget-conscious households.
The workshop was informative, engaging, and well-received, empowering attendees with practical culinary skills and confidence to create wholesome meals without financial strain.

எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறை நடத்தும் முத்தமிழ் விழா ஆகஸ்ட் 4 மற்றும் 5, 2025 ஆகிய இரு நாட்களில் சிறப்புற நடத்தியது. இந்நிகழ்வு ஆகஸ்ட் 4, 2025 அன்று மாணவர்களுக்கான தனிநபர் பாட்டுப் போட்டி, தனிநபர் நடனப் போட்டி ஆகிய போட்டிகள் பிற்பகல் 2 மணிக்கு நடைபெற்றது. அந்நிகழ்வில் வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு ஆகஸ்ட் 5, 2025 அன்று காலை 10 மணிக்கு நடைபெற்ற முத்தமிழ் விழாவில் மேனாள் அரசவைக் கவிஞர், திரைப்படப் பாடலாசிரியர் கலைமாமணி கவிஞர் முத்துலிங்கம் அவர்களும், சென்னை மாநகரத் தமிழ்ச் சங்கத்தின் பொதுச் செயலாளர் கவிஞர் தங்கசாரா அவர்களும் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களாகப் பங்கேற்று சிறப்பித்தனர்.
இந்நிகழ்வில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் தங்க சாரா அவர்கள் யாப்பிலக்கணக் கவிதையை கூறி அரங்கத்தையே மகிழ்வித்தார். இந்நிகழ்வில் திரு. முத்துலிங்கம் அவர்கள் ஆசிரியர்களது பெருமையையும் மாணவர்களது கவனிக்கும் திறனையும் பாராட்டி 99 குறிஞ்சி மலர்களைப் பற்றியும் கூறி உரையைச் சிறப்பித்தார். பிறகு, மாணவர்களுக்கு பரிசினை அளித்தனர். பரிசுப் பெற்ற மாணவர்கள் நடனமும் பாடலும் பாடி அரங்கத்தையே அதிர வைத்தனர். இந்நிகழ்வில் 350 மாணவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

Empowering Students: Awareness Session on Digital Technologies and Consumer Rights at SACAS.
The Citizen Consumer Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the PG Department of Commerce , organized an awareness session on Digital Technologies and Consumer Rights on 4th August 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m .The session aimed to educate students about their rights in the fast-growing digital world.
Advocate Mr. Karthik Eswaran, a renowned legal expert, served as the resource person. He delivered an insightful talk on consumer protection laws related to e-commerce, digital payments, and cybersecurity. He highlighted challenges such as online fraud, misleading advertisements, and data privacy issues. He also explained the legal remedies available to consumers and the importance of being informed and alert while using digital platforms.
The session was interactive and informative, with active student participation. It successfully raised awareness and empowered students to be responsible and safe digital consumers.

The Department of English at S.A. College of Arts & Science hosted “The Art of Arts”, an Orientation and Freshers' Fiesta 2K25, on August 2 at the auditorium. The event began with Tamilthai Vazhthu and lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, wishing light and knowledge for the year ahead.
Mr. M. Thanga Kumaran, Head of the Department, welcomed everyone and introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. P. Beena, Associate Professor, SDNB Vaishnav College for Women. In her speech, Dr. Beena spoke about the power of language, the importance of communication, reskilling, equality, and success in English literature studies.
The day also saw the launch of the literary association “The Renaissance” and seven student clubs including The Bookmark, The Na Va Ra Saa, The Brainwave, The Hypothesis, The Coffee House, Alumni Insight Series, and Electoral Literacy Club.
The programme ended with a lively Freshers' Fiesta full of music, dance, and games, warmly welcoming the new students.

The Department of Accounting & Finance at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a session titled “Pioneers & Professionals: Alumni Insights” on 1st August 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The guest speaker was Ms. Jaya Shree, a proud alumna and a Banking Operations Associate, who shared her journey from college to the corporate world. She spoke about the transition from student life to the workplace and highlighted key skills such as adaptability, communication, and continuous learning.
The session was interactive, with students asking questions about career planning, resume building, interviews, and work-life balance. Ms. Jaya Shree’s friendly and engaging approach made the event both informative and inspiring.
She encouraged students to stay focused, seize opportunities, and always value their roots.The session gave students a clear insight into real-world expectations and motivated them to shape successful careers.

எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறை மாணவர்களின் தனித்திறன்களை மேம்படுத்தும் நோக்கில் மாணவர் திறன்வளர் நிகழ்வுகளை நடத்தி வருகிறது. அவ்வகையில் மாணவர்களின் பேச்சுத் திறனை மேம்படுத்தும் நோக்கில் 'நீங்களும் பேச்சாளர் ஆகலாம்' என்ற திறன்வளர் நிகழ்வு ஆகஸ்ட் 1, 2025 அன்று கல்லூரித் திரையரங்கில் நடைபெற்றது. எத்திராஜ் மகளிர் கல்லூரி தமிழ்த்துறை உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் ம. எஸ்தர் ஜெகதீசுவரி சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தார்.
சிறந்த பேச்சாளருக்கு அவையை தன்வயப்படுத்தும் திறன், செறிந்த தகவல்கள், தெளிவான உச்சரிப்பு, ஈர்க்கும் உரை வீச்சு, மிகச் சிறந்த கண்ணோட்டம் ஆகிய பண்புகள் இன்றியமையாதன என்று வலியுறுத்தினார். டாக்டர் அப்துல் கலாம், இரா.பி. சேதுப்பிள்ளை, பேரறிஞர் அண்ணா, கலைஞர் மு. கருணாநிதி, சுகிசிவம் போன்ற மிகச் சிறந்த பேச்சாளர்களை மாணவர்களுக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தி, அவர்களின் மிகச் சிறந்த பேச்சுத் திறனை சான்றுகளுடன் எடுத்துரைத்தார். சிறப்பு விருந்தினரின் உரையைக் கேட்ட மாணவர்கள் சிறந்த பேச்சாளராக உருவாவதற்கான உந்துதலைப் பெற்றனர். மாணவர்களின் பேச்சுத்திறனை இனங்கண்டு, அவர்களின் பேச்சுத் திறனை மேம்படுத்த இந்நிகழ்ச்சி களம் அமைத்துக் கொடுத்தது சிறப்புக்குரியது.

Spreading Awareness: Human Chain for Breastfeeding Support at SACAS
The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics at S.A. College of Arts & Science , along with the F3 Nutrition Club, organized a Human Chain Formation on August 1, 2025, from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM, as part of World Breastfeeding Week Celebration 2025.
The event focused on this year’s global theme: "Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems." Students and faculty joined hands to form a human chain, showing unity and commitment to promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for both babies and mothers. It also highlighted the need for supportive environments at home, work, and in the community.
The human chain drew attention on campus and inspired many to understand the long-term health benefits of breastfeeding. It was a strong visual reminder that collective efforts can build a healthier future for the next generation.
டால்பின் பாதுகாப்பு விழிப்புணர்வு முப்பெரும் விழா ஜூலை 31, 2025
எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறை டால்பின் பாதுகாப்பு விழிப்புணர்வு முப்பெரும் விழாவை ஜூலை 31, 2025 அன்று நடத்தியது. இந்நிகழ்வில் நாட்டு நலப் பணித் திட்ட மாணவர்கள் 50 க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் பங்கேற்றனர். இதில் டால்பின் என்னும் பாலூட்டி உயிரினம் மற்றும் கடல்வாழ் உயிரினங்களுக்கு ஏற்படும் தீங்குகளைத் தவிர்க்க வேண்டும் என்பதை உணர்த்துவதற்காக இவ்விழிப்புணர்வு நடந்தது.
இதில் 250 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் உறுதிமொழி எடுத்தனர். இரசாயன வேதியியல் கழிவுகளைக் கடலில் கலக்காமல் இயற்கைச் சமநிலையைப் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும் என்று உறுதிமொழி எடுக்கப்பட்டது. இந்நிகழ்வில் டால்பினை பற்றிய தகவல்கள் அடங்கிய காணொலி காட்சியைத் திரையிட்டனர்.
இதில், கடல்வாழ் உயிரினங்களுக்கு பெரும் கேடு விளைவிக்கும் நெகிழிக் குப்பைகள், குடுவைகள், பீங்கான் பாட்டில்கள் முதலியவற்றைக் கடலில் போடக்ககூடாது என்ற விழிப்புணர்வை அளித்தனர். இந்நிகழ்வில் மாணவர்கள் ஆர்வத்துடன் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

The Department of Commerce (Computer Application) at S.A. College of Arts & Science hosted two impactful events on July 31, 2025, blending inspiration and celebration for its students.
The day began with an international seminar titled “Triumph Through Balance: The Self-Victory Formula”, held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. via Google Meet. The session featured Dr. Gopu Chandran Lenin Perumal, Associate Professor and Deputy Dean from a reputed Dental college in Malaysia. He shared powerful insights on achieving self-victory through emotional balance, time management, and mental resilience. His scientific approach, real-life examples, and interactive Q&A session left a lasting impact on both students and faculty.
Following the seminar, a vibrant Freshers’ Day celebration welcomed the new batch of students from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the college auditorium. The event featured a graceful Bharatanatyam performance, an introductory video, badge distribution, and lively cultural programs by senior students. Singing, games, and a showstopping dance performance brought fun and unity to the gathering.
Both events reflected the department’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals by promoting personal growth, academic excellence, and a strong sense of community among students.

Ready 2 Rise”: Rotaract Club Hosts 5th Installation Ceremony with Renewed Spirit at SACAS.
The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, sponsored by Rotary International District 3234 – Rising Group One, held its 5th Installation Ceremony titled “Ready 2 Rise” on 31st July 2025 at the college’s Preview Theatre. The event marked the investiture of the new President, Secretary, and board for the 2025–26 Rotaract year. It began with a warm welcome, invocation, and traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku. The collaring ceremony symbolized a smooth transition of leadership. Highlights included the Annual Report video, heartfelt speeches, and the unveiling of the new club logo and standee under the theme “Unite for Good.” New board members took their oath and received badges, pledging commitment to service. Distinguished guests delivered inspiring messages, and the event ended with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem. The ceremony blended tradition and vision, setting the tone for a purposeful year ahead.
