The second day of the session took place on 28th August 2024, starting at 9:30 am and concluding at 4 pm. The day was marked by the screening of three short movies, each carefully selected to demonstrate different aspects of filmmaking. The session was graced by the presence of Mr. M. Sivakumar, an experienced filmmaker, who provided an in-depth analysis and explanation after each screening.
After the first movie screening Camera Angles and Shots discussion led by Mr. Sivakumar began by dissecting the various camera angles and shots used in the film. He explained how different angles can evoke different emotions and perspectives. For instance, he elaborated on how a low-angle shot can make a character appear powerful and dominating, while a high-angle shot can make the same character seem vulnerable. He also discussed the significance of close-ups in capturing the subtleties of an actor’s performance and wide shots in establishing the setting.
In the Second Short Film composition and Cinematic Techniques are discussed. The focus shifted to the composition of scenes in the second film. Mr. Sivakumar provided insights into how the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing contribute to the visual storytelling of a film. He highlighted the importance of balancing elements within a frame and how composition can guide the viewer's eye to the focal point of a scene. Additionally, he discussed the use of cinematic techniques such as panning, tilting, and tracking shots to enhance the narrative flow.
In the Third Short Film screening. He discussed about Script, Timeline, and Screenplay. The final film served as a case study for understanding the script, timeline, and screenplay of a movie. Mr. Sivakumar broke down the structure of the script, explaining how the timeline is crucial in maintaining narrative coherence. He discussed the screenplay’s role in translating the script into visual and auditory experiences, emphasizing the importance of scene transitions, dialogues, and pacing. His explanation also covered the nuances of story arcs, character development, and the integration of visual motifs.
Conclusion: The session was a comprehensive exploration of the filmmaking process, with Mr. Sivakumar offering valuable insights into the technical and creative aspects of cinema. Inauguration of Corporate Governance Professionals' Association On August 27, 2024, the Department of Corporate Secretaryship at S.A. College of Arts and Science inaugurated the "Corporate Governance Professionals' Association" in the SACAS Auditorium. The event, running from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, began with the recital of "Tamizhthai Vaazthu" and the lighting of the "Kuthu Vilakku."
Dr. S. Ganapathy, Head of the Department, honored the Chief Guest, CS Damodaran M., Chairman of SIRC, ICSI, who shared insights on the career prospects for Company Secretaries in India. He highlighted the increasing demand for the profession and detailed course scopes and salary ranges. The ceremony included the introduction of student leaders, distribution of badges and appointment letters, and the recognition of outstanding contributions with Spot Cards. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
The day also featured a Freshers' Day celebration, providing new students with opportunities to connect with peers and faculty through performances and interactive games.

College of Arts and Science has organized a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Film Appreciation" from August 27th to 31st, 2024, at the SACAS Theatre. The FDP focuses on the theme "Cinema as a Language and an Art," aiming to delve into the structure and elements that define cinematic storytelling.
The program runs daily from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The inaugural session held today featured renowned film expert Mr. Sivakumar as the chief guest. he has made an indelible mark in the world of cinema. With over 120 films to his credit, spanning corporate AVs, documentaries, commercials, NGO films, and short films, his work has garnered both national and international acclaim. He delivered an insightful talk, offering a clear and comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of cinema, emphasizing how films communicate and express artistic vision. His session set the tone for the program by highlighting the narrative techniques and visual grammar that shape the art of filmmaking.
The FDP promises to be a valuable learning experience for participants, with sessions designed to deepen their appreciation and analysis of films from both a technical and artistic perspective.

L., Zonal Head of Image Creative Education. His insightful presentation highlighted key aspects of UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) design, offering both foundational knowledge and advanced insights into this growing field.

Department of Accounting & Finance, the SACAS Association of Accounting and Finance Professionals students organised on 16.08.2024
A state-level intercollegiate competition was held on August 16, 2024, in honour of Anti-Ragging Week, by the Department of Accounting & Finance, the SACAS Association of Accounting and Finance Professionals, and the SACAS'ians Fin.Tech Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science.
The department's students organised this event and used the topic of "ANTI RAGGING" to host a variety of on-stage and off-stage competitions, providing a venue for other college students to showcase their abilities. This demonstrates the students' dedication to raising awareness of the significance of this event among the youngsters who will be tomorrow's leaders. The anti-ragging banner was signed by participants, as required by the organising committee. Participants in the competition included students from a variety of colleges in and around Chennai. In just a minute, they provided an opportunity to showcase their other talents as well. The winners received trophies, while Guru Nanak College of Chennai wins the overall trophy. There was a formal vote of thanks to close the occasion.

The workshop introduced fundamentals of graphic design, covering typography, color models, and logo creation, with real-world examples like Nike and Baskin Robbins. His talks also included branding, UX design, motion graphics, and digital marketing strategies. The session concluded with advanced discussions on 3D VFX, game development, and industry practices, offering attendees valuable insights into design principles.
