The session featured Mr. Jayaprakash Gandhi, Career Consultant & Education Analyst, as the distinguished resource person.
The session aimed to empower students with practical guidance on career opportunities, higher education options, emerging career pathways, and evolving industry requirements. Mr. Jayaprakash Gandhi shared valuable insights into the changing employment landscape and guided students on choosing career paths based on their interests, competencies, and aspirations.

The PG Department of Commerce – General, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), organised the prestigious IWR Book of Records Awards to recognise and honour excellence among educators and talented achievers.
The award ceremony witnessed the participation of nearly 50 schools and colleges, making it a significant gathering of educational institutions and achievers. Around 500 individuals were felicitated for their outstanding achievements and contributions in various fields.
Faculty members of S.A. College of Arts & Science were also recognised with prestigious honours, including the Best Teacher Award and Best Talent Award, in appreciation of their dedication, professional excellence and individual talents.
The ceremony provided an inspiring platform to celebrate achievement and acknowledge the valuable contributions of educators and talented individuals. The PG Department of Commerce General, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a One-Day IKS (Indian Knowledge System) Educational Visit to Pondicherry for M.Com. (General) students on 19 August 2026. The visit aimed to connect classroom learning with the rich historical, cultural, spiritual, and heritage traditions of Pondicherry.
As part of the educational visit, students explored several significant places, including the French Library, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Mahatma Gandhi Statue, French War Memorial, and Tribute Wall, along with other heritage sites. The French Library introduced students to Pondicherry’s literary and intellectual heritage, while the Sri Aurobindo Ashram offered insights into the spiritual and philosophical contributions of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The Mahatma Gandhi Statue highlighted the values of peace, truth, and non-violence. The French War Memorial and Tribute Wall provided opportunities to understand history, remembrance, and cultural heritage.
The visit enriched students’ understanding of Indian knowledge, history, culture, literature, architecture, and social values while highlighting Pondicherry’s unique multicultural heritage.

Fire Safety Awareness Programme Conducted at SACAS
The PG Department of Commerce (General), in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a Fire Safety Awareness Programme and Mock Drill on 22 June 2026 at S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), Thiruverkadu. The programme aimed to educate students on fire prevention, emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and the effective use of fire extinguishers.
All first-year students from various departments actively participated in the event. The Fire Safety Team served as resource persons and delivered an informative session on fire hazards, safety measures, and emergency response strategies. Through presentations and videos, students gained valuable insights into preventing fire accidents and maintaining safety in educational institutions and public places.
The highlight of the programme was a practical mock drill, during which students received hands-on training in operating different types of fire extinguishers and learned proper evacuation techniques. The programme enhanced students’ awareness, preparedness, and confidence in responding effectively during emergencies.

Guest Lecture on Financial Mindset Empowers Commerce Students at SACAS
The PG Department of Commerce (General), S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised a Guest Lecture on “Dream – Plan – Prosper: The Financial Mindset of Modern Youth” on 18 March 2026 at 9:30 AM in SF12. The programme aimed to create awareness among students on the importance of financial planning and responsible decision-making at an early stage.
The session was delivered by CMA V. Subha, Faculty at the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Chennai, US-CMA Course Faculty, and SEBI-approved SMART Trainer (NSE & NSDL). The speaker highlighted key aspects of personal finance, including budgeting, saving, disciplined spending, and informed investment decisions.
The lecture also emphasised financial literacy and encouraged students to adopt a proactive approach towards their financial future. It further provided insights into career opportunities in finance.
The interactive session proved highly informative, equipping students with essential financial skills for long-term stability and success.

The PG Department of Commerce , S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, successfully organized the academic programme titled “Art of Business Storytelling: Turning Ideas into Influence” on 02 March 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the SACAS Auditorium.
The programme was inaugurated by Ramesh Dugar, President of the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, whose presence added great value to the occasion. The highlight of the event was the insightful special address delivered by Sivakumar Bellan, Business Mentor, who emphasized the power of storytelling in shaping brands, influencing decisions, and building meaningful business relationships. The visit covered prominent heritage and research centres including the French Institute of Pondicherry, Brihadeeswarar Temple, Thanjavur Palace Museum, and the Saraswathi Mahal Library, Thanjavur.
The programme was thoughtfully designed to provide academic exposure beyond the classroom and to deepen students’ understanding of India’s intellectual traditions. Students explored rare manuscripts, ancient documentation practices, temple architecture, and historical administrative and economic systems that shaped India’s scholarly heritage.
The tour successfully connected India’s cultural wisdom with modern commerce education, offering a meaningful and enriching learning experience for all participants.

The programme was held at SF 13 from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. The session aimed to help students identify suitable career paths and achieve professional success.
Ms. Devi Anand Raj, Proprietor of RPS Academy, served as the resource person. She stressed the importance of goal setting and proper career planning. The speaker explained various career opportunities available in the field of commerce. She also highlighted the need for skill development and continuous learning. Students were encouraged to understand their strengths and interests before choosing a career.
The session provided valuable information about higher education opportunities and professional courses. Practical examples were shared to make the session more effective. It provided an excellent platform for students to connect theoretical concepts with real-world business practices. The session focused on modern management ideas, professional expectations, and emerging business trends.
The session was led by Ms. Sashvika J, MBA, from ISSM Business School, Perungudi. She shared valuable insights from her academic and professional experience. Her interactive teaching style encouraged active student participation. She explained various career opportunities, skill development strategies, and practical applications of management principles.
