கிராமங்களில் தேசிய ஊட்டச்சத்து மாதத்தை ஒட்டி ஊட்டச்சத்து மற்றும் உணவு சார் விழிப்புணர்வு ஊர்வலத்தை ஏற்பாடு செய்து நடத்தியது. கல்லூரியின் தாளாளர் திரு.ப.வெங்கடேஷ் ராஜா மற்றும் கல்லூரி இயக்குநர் முனைவர் சாய் சத்யவதி கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் முனைவர் மாலதி செல்வக்குமார் ஆகியோர்களின் வழிகாட்டுதலில்  இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் 100 மாணவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு உணவு மற்றும் ஊட்டச்சத்து விழிப்புணர்வு குறித்த விளம்பரப்

பதாகைகளை கைகளில் ஏந்தி முழக்கமிட்டு ஊர்வலமாக நடந்து சென்று விழிப்புணர்வை ஊட்டினர். இந்நிகழ்ச்சியின் தொடக்க விழாவில் கண்ணபாளையம் ஊராட்சி மன்றத் தலைவர் திரு ஆதி கேசவன், மாமன்ற உறுப்பினர் திரு பகவதி கண்ணன் மற்றும் திரு முத்துகிருஷ்ணன் ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர். இரு கிராமங்களிலும் பொதுமக்கள் மாணவர்களின் ஊர்வலத்தில் வெளியிட்ட விழிப்புணர்வு வாசகங்களைக் கண்டு உடல் நலம் காக்கும் ஊட்டச்சத்து குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு பெற்றனர். இந்நிகழ்ச்சிக்கான விரிவான ஏற்பாட்டை கல்லூரி நிர்வாகம் மிகச் சிறப்பாகச் செய்திருந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

On September 5th, 2025, a program called "Empower Yourself & Empower Others" was held at the SACAS Auditorium to help people learn about investing. This event was put together by the Department of Commerce Computer Application and Fin Edu Connect, and was managed by Mr. Shameel Thomas, who is in charge of organizing programs for the group. This happened between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM..

Overview of the Program:

The main goal of the program was to teach people the basics of investing, the value of planning their finances, and how gaining financial knowledge can positively impact their community. Mr. Shameel Thomas stressed the importance of being financially knowledgeable in our rapidly changing economy.

Key Highlights:

Understanding Financial Literacy:

Mr. Thomas started by talking about what financial literacy is and why it's important for both individuals and communities to manage their money well. He pointed out that financial literacy involves more than just handling money; it's also about knowing how money functions in the economy.

Investment Strategies:

During the session, they explored different ways to invest money that fit various financial goals and how much risk someone is willing to take. Mr. Thomas spoke about the advantages and disadvantages of different investment choices like stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and real estate.

Risk Management:

A big part of the program focused on understanding risk and how to handle it well. Mr. Thomas emphasized the importance of not putting all your money in one place and how investing in different types of things can help protect you from risk.

The Role of Technology in Investing:

Mr. Thomas talked about how technology is becoming more important in the world of finance, especially when it comes to investing. He showed the group different online tools and websites that can help people make smart choices about where to put their money.

Empowering Others:

The program concluded with a discussion on how gaining financial knowledge empowers individuals to make better decisions and how they can further empower others by sharing their knowledge. 

Conclusion:

The "Empower Yourself & Empower Others" program did really well. People learned more about why knowing about money matters is important and how to make good choices with their money. Mr. Shameel Thomas shared some great ideas that everyone liked. The program was fun and people asked questions at the end.

College of Arts & Science. Starting at 2:00 PM, the event, organized by Ms. Logapriya S., featured students and faculty sharing brief insights into their favorite literary works. The meeting, noted for its careful planning and coordination, fostered an engaging discussion on various literary pieces, enhancing the appreciation of literature within the department. College of Arts and Science (SACAS) on 10th August  The program aimed to empower educators with innovative strategies, best practices, and cutting-edge techniques to enhance their teaching skills and stay updated with industry trends. Renowned experts in the field, Dr. Prabhu Shankar, Associate Professor, Department of Education, and Dr. Carol, Controller of Examinations, SDNB Vaishnav College, shared their insights and expertise with the participants. The FDP focused on upskilling and reskilling for academic excellence, integrating technology for effective teaching, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and enhancing student engagement and outcomes. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from educators across disciplines, who engaged in meaningful discussions, workshops, and sessions. Department of Psychology  and IQAC emphasized the importance of continuous professional development in shaping the future of education. The program concluded with a renewed commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

Dedicated to first-year students, the event showcased a wide array of talents including dance, music, Silambam, flute playing, and painting. Students participated enthusiastically in competitions like Naalaavadhanam and Mauna Nadippu, highlighting their creativity and skill development. The Department of Computer Science & Applications of S. A. College of Arts & Science, organized A Human Chain Formation in Connection with World Organ Donation Day. It centered around the crucial theme of organ donation and took place on 23rd August, 2023 at the S.A.E.C. Gate. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation, dispel myths, and encourage attendees to become organ donors. Around 300 students participated.

The Department of Computer Science & Applications of S. A. College of Arts & Science, organized an Awareness Session on Organ Donation for celebrating World Organ Donation Day centered around the crucial theme of organ donation. The session took place on 23rd August, 2023 at the Preview Theatre. The Resource Person for this session was Dr. Hemal Kanvinde Quality Assurance Officer, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai-10, (along with Mr. Ganesh), who shared her(their) insights on the significance or organ donation.
The programme started with a welcome address by Mr. P. Chandrasekar, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science & Applications. Ms. Guru Karthika from II B.Sc. CS introduced the Resource Person Dr. Hemal Kanvinde. Nearly 180 students attended the session.
A series of engaging discussions with the audience, these discussions shed light on the medical aspects of organ transplantation, the emotional journeys of recipients awaiting transplantation, and the selfless contributions of donor families. Personal stories shared by the speaker(s) underscored the transformative impact of organ donation on individuals and families alike. The event also featured quite engaging interactions, and a Question and Answer session that aimed to educate students about the misconceptions surrounding organ donation, to clarify doubts, and engage in open discussions with the speaker. Attendees had the chance to register as donors on the spot, marking a concrete step towards increasing the pool of potential donors.
As a result, the students who took part in the session were equipped with accurate information and a heightened sense of responsibility towards saving lives through organ donation. This event served as a reminder that each person has the power to make a profound impact on the lives of others, even beyond their lifetime. The event concluded with a strong call to action, urging attendees to pledge their support for organ donation.

Five Days FDP on “CLOUD PRACTITIONER”

The Skill Elevation Club of the Department of Computer Science & Applications of S.A College of Arts & Science organized a 5 days FDP on “CLOUD PRACTITIONER” in association with ICT Academy from 19-06-2023 to 23-06-2023.

Mrs.Chitra, an experienced AWS-certified professional was invited as a resource person to deliver lectures, conduct hands-on exercises, and provide guidance during the FDP.

The Faculty Development Programme on AWS Cloud Practitioner was organized with the objective of equipping faculty members with the knowledge and skills required to teach and mentor students in the field of cloud computing using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The programme aimed to provide an overview of the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification exam, familiarize faculty with AWS services and concepts, and enable them to effectively incorporate cloud computing into their curriculum.

The FDP curriculum encompassed the following key areas:

  • Introduction to AWS Cloud Computing
  • AWS Global Infrastructure and Service Models
  • AWS Core Services: Compute, Storage, and Database
  • Networking and Security in AWS
  • AWS Management and Monitoring Tools
  • AWS Security Best Practices
  • AWS Cost Optimization and Billing
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification Overview
  • Hands-on Labs and Practical Exercises

To provide practical exposure, hands-on labs were conducted where faculty members got the opportunity to work on the AWS console, create and manage AWS resources, and perform tasks related to compute, storage, and networking. The resource persons provided step-by-step guidance and addressed queries during the lab sessions.

To assess the participants' progress and prepare them for the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification exam, practice tests were conducted at regular intervals. These tests evaluated their understanding of AWS concepts, services, and best practices.

The FDP helped participants develop a strong foundation in cloud computing and AWS services. They gained in-depth knowledge of core AWS services, infrastructure, security, and cost optimization techniques. Participants also acquired practical skills through hands-on labs, enabling them to leverage AWS effectively.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Hands on Workshop on “CLOUD COMPUTING”

The Skill Elevation Club of the Department of Computer Science & Applications of S.A College of Arts & Science organized a hands on workshop on “CLOUD COMPUTINGon account of National Science Day on 28th  February 2023 in First Floor Computer Science Lab.

The resource person was Mr.Vigneshwaran, Senior Lead, Client Solution Specialist.

Objectives:

The primary objectives of the workshop were to introduce the participants to cloud computing, its benefits, and its various models, and to provide hands-on training on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

 

Methodology:

The workshop was held in computer science lab for two hours. The workshop was conducted by Mr.Vigneshwaran, Senior Lead, Client Solution Specialist who provided lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice on cloud computing concepts and platforms.

 

Participants:

The workshop was attended by 39 students of final year BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science departments. The participants had a basic understanding of cloud computing and were looking to expand their knowledge and skills.

Content:

The workshop covered the following topics:

  • Introduction to cloud computing and its benefits
  • Cloud computing models: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
  • Overview of cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Creating and managing virtual machines on cloud platforms
  • Deploying applications on cloud platforms
  • Cloud security and compliance

The resource person provided hands-on practice sessions after each topic to reinforce the concepts learned. Participants were also encouraged to ask questions and seek clarification on any doubts they had.

Outcome:

The participants gained a good understanding of cloud computing and its benefits. They were able to create and manage virtual machines on cloud platforms and deploy applications on cloud platforms. Participants also appreciated the hands-on practice sessions and found the workshop engaging and informative.

Conclusion:

The Introduction to Cloud Computing Workshop was successful in achieving its objectives of introducing the participants to cloud computing and providing hands-on training on cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure. The workshop was well-received by the participants, and they left with a good understanding of cloud computing and its capabilities.
