The Department of Computer Applications, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a guest lecture on “Coding Beyond Classrooms: Excelling in Hackathons” on 24 July 2026 in the Data Science Lab. The programme aimed to encourage students to enhance their coding skills and explore opportunities through hackathons.

The session was led by Dr. R. Meena and Dr. K.P. Revathi, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Easwari Engineering College, Chennai. Dr. K. Jamberi, Head of the Department of BCA, welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of hackathons in developing creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical expertise.

The resource persons shared practical tips on hackathon preparation, team collaboration, and project development. They introduced students to various national and international hackathon platforms and explained how to identify real-world problems and build innovative technology-based solutions. Interactive discussions and inspiring success stories motivated students to participate confidently in coding competitions.
