Department of Corporate Secretaryship, organized a Mentorship Session on 05.08.2025

SACAS Hosts Mentorship Session on Labour Law Compliance in Manufacturing Sector On August 5, 2025, the Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association, under the Department of Corporate Secretaryship, organized a Mentorship Session on “Compliance with Labour Laws in Manufacturing Sector: Challenges and Opportunities” at the SACAS Auditorium, S.A. College of Arts & Science, Chennai. The session, held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., was led by Dr. B. Ezhilan, a practicing advocate at the Madras High Court, known for his legal expertise and impactful public speaking.

Dr. Ezhilan delivered a valuable and interactive presentation covering the evolution of the manufacturing sector, the definition of labour, and historical industrial revolutions. He explained causes of disputes between workers and management and outlined key procedures like strike, lay-off, and lockout. Important labour laws and landmark cases were discussed, including the Industrial Disputes Act, Workman Compensation Act, and more.A total of 106 students participated the event.
