SACAS Psychology Students Gain Practical Insights at Rehabilitation Centre.

The Department of Psychology, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a field visit for III B.Sc. Psychology students to Mithra Rehabilitation Centre on 16 July 2026. The visit offered students valuable practical exposure to rehabilitation services and strengthened their understanding of holistic mental health care.

During the visit, students learned about the roles of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other rehabilitation professionals in supporting individuals with special needs. They also gained insights into vocational and life skills training programmes that help children become more independent and improve their quality of life.

Students observed various therapeutic activities and interacted with professionals, enabling them to understand individualized care, rehabilitation techniques, and multidisciplinary teamwork. The experience emphasized the import8uance of empathy, patience, and ethical responsibility while working with special populations.

The field visit successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice, enriching students’ knowledge of rehabilitation psychology and preparing them for future professional roles.
