SACAS Conducts Value-Added Course on Cinematography
The Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a five-day Value-Added Course titled “Cinematography & Visual Storytelling” from March 9 to 13, 2026, at the SACAS Theatre. The programme was conducted between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. under the coordination of Prof. R.D. Balaji.
The course was led by renowned cinematographer and educator Mr. R. Narayan Kumar, who shared his 30 years of professional experience with the students. The sessions covered the fundamentals of cinematography, visual storytelling, shot composition, and cinematic techniques.
Industry experts also interacted with the participants. Mr. Ramcharan from Zeiss Lens demonstrated cinema lenses, while Mr. Yuvaraj from Sony introduced high-end cameras. Cinematographer Mr. Shermin delivered a session on lighting techniques and screened his short film. Director Mr. Avinash Prakash screened his film Naangal and shared insights into filmmaking.
