Breaking Myths, Building Awareness: Know HIV, No Fear at SACAS.

The Red Ribbon Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organised a National Level Seminar titled “Know HIV, No Fear” on 29 January 2026 at the SACAS Campus from 12.00 PM to 2.00 PM. The programme aimed to create awareness about HIV/AIDS and eliminate stigma, spreading the messages “End Stigma, Spread Awareness” and “Awareness Today, Safety Tomorrow.”

The session was led by Mrs. B. Punitha, MA, MSW, ICTC Counselor, IPH Poonamallee. She delivered an informative talk on HIV/AIDS, addressing myths, modes of transmission, prevention methods, and the importance of empathy and responsible living. Through real-life examples and interactive discussion, students understood that HIV is a health condition that can be prevented and managed, not a social stigma.

A total of 110 students actively participated and gained valuable knowledge. The seminar encouraged students to spread awareness, break misconceptions, and contribute towards building a stigma-free and inclusive society.
