S.A. School of Management conducted workshop on 01.09.2026

A workshop on “The Power of Retail & Supply Chain Analytics” was conducted at S.A. School of Management, with Dr. P. Jakulin Divya Mary, Assistant Professor, NITTR, Chennai, as the resource person on 01.09.2026.
The session focused on the practical applications of analytics in retail and supply chain management. She explained the importance of data analytics in business and provided students with practical exposure using demo data. She demonstrated the use of Pivot Tables for analysing retail data and creating effective dashboards. Students were asked to analyse data and this helped students gain practical knowledge of analysing and interpreting retail data.

The resource person also introduced Tableau and demonstrated its use in creating interactive dashboards for supply chain analytics. She explained the supply chain process and highlighted the importance of data at different stages for effective decision-making. The concepts, roles, and responsibilities of a Data Analyst and Business Analyst were also discussed, along with the types of data required for analysis. The session helped students understand how raw data can be transformed into meaningful business insights through analytical tools and data visualization. Overall, the workshop was highly informative, interactive, and practical, providing students with valuable hands-on exposure to retail and supply chain analytics and enhancing their understanding of data-driven business decision-making.
