SACAS’s Large-Scale Cleanup Drive Held in Pulicat Islands for World Environment Day

As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, a large-scale cleanup drive was organized on June 6, 2026, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. across the five islands in the Pulicat region. The initiative was jointly organized by Bisleri and S.A. College of Arts & Science in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. Thirty enthusiastic Rotaract students from S.A. College actively participated in the programme, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection and community service.

During the drive, volunteers collected large quantities of plastic waste and other litter scattered across the island areas. Their efforts contributed significantly to preserving the fragile ecosystem of the Pulicat region, which is known for its rich biodiversity. The programme also served as an educational experience, creating awareness among students about the importance of environmental conservation, waste management, cleanliness, and sustainable living. The event highlighted the value of collective action in safeguarding nature for future generations.
