The Home, Prohibition and Excise Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, organized the Mass Anti-Drug Pledge 2026 on 11 August 2026 at Presidency College, Chennai, as a statewide initiative under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The programme aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a healthy and responsible society.

Representing S.A. College of Arts & Science, 50 students and two faculty members actively participated in the event. The participants joined the statewide initiative by taking the Anti-Drug Pledge and expressing their commitment to preventing drug abuse and promoting healthy lifestyles.

The programme highlighted the importance of educating young people about the dangers of substance abuse and encouraging them to make responsible choices. The participation of S.A. College students reflected the institution’s commitment to supporting social awareness initiatives and promoting the well-being of the younger generation.

The event served as a meaningful platform to strengthen the collective resolve to build a healthier, safer, and drug-free society.
