College of Arts & Science, Thiruverkadu, successfully organised the "Digital Marketing – One-Minute Video Presentation" event on 9 July 2026 at 1.00 p.m. The programme aimed to nurture students' creativity and digital marketing competencies through innovative presentations.
The event was graced by Dr. Sheik Mohamed S. H., who emphasised the significance of creativity, effective communication, and digital skills in the modern business environment. Four teams enthusiastically presented one-minute videos on various digital marketing themes, including brands, products, and promotional campaigns. The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised a Guest Lecture on "An Overview of Direct Taxation" on 9 July 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was delivered by CA. Deepika Ganesan, Chartered Accountant and Certified GST Trainer by NACIN.
The lecture provided students with a clear understanding of income tax and the latest developments in the New Income Tax Act, 2025. Key topics included the five heads of income, computation of total income, structural changes in the new Act, income tax return filing, and compliance procedures. The speaker also shared practical insights into the evolving taxation system and its importance in the field of commerce and finance.
Students and faculty members attended the interactive session with great enthusiasm. The programme enhanced students' knowledge of direct taxation and encouraged them to stay informed about changing tax laws, preparing them for successful careers in the finance and commerce sectors.

The Central Library of S.A. College of Arts & Science, Chennai, organized a User Awareness Programme on National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Resources for first-year students on 9 July 2026 at the college auditorium. The programme featured Dr. S. Dhanavandhan, Deputy Librarian, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, as the chief guest. He demonstrated the registration process, advanced search features, and effective use of the NDLI platform, highlighting its vast collection of e-books, journals, research articles, theses, question papers, and educational videos. Earlier, Dr. G. Muruganandham, Librarian, welcomed the gathering and explained the significance of digital learning resources. Dr. K. S. Prabhakar, Director – CDC & Administration, encouraged students to cultivate reading habits and make optimum use of digital resources for academic success. The interactive session enabled students to clarify their doubts, making the programme highly informative. The event reinforced the institution's commitment to promoting digital literacy and lifelong learning among students.

தமிழ்த்துறை உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் திரு. கு. சுரேஷ் வரவேற்புரை வழங்கினார். கல்லூரி இயக்குநர் முனைவர் வி. சாய் சத்தியவதி திருக்குறளின் மாண்பை எடுத்துரைத்து முன்னிலை உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். நிர்வாகம், பயிற்சி மற்றும் வேலைவாய்ப்புத் துறை இயக்குநர் முனைவர் கே.எஸ். பிரபாகர் கல்வியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து முன்னிலை உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் திரு. முயற்சி முருகேசன் அவர்களை முனைவர் இரா. கவிதா அவைக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார்.
தமிழின் சிறப்புகளையும் குறளின் மாண்புகளையும் எடுத்துரைத்து கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் சொ. அன்பழகன் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார். அதனை அடுத்து, மகாகவி பாரதி முத்தமிழ் மன்றப் பொறுப்பாளர்களுக்கும், உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் பேட்ஜ்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.
சிறிய விஷயங்களில்தான் மாற்றம் அடங்கி இருக்கிறது. காலத்தினால் செய்த பல்வேறு உதவிகளை உலக நிகழ்வுகளின் வாயிலாக எடுத்துக் காட்டினார். நல்ல மனித சமுதாயத்தை உருவாக்க மாணவர்கள் திருக்குறளைப் படிக்க வலியுறுத்தினார். கல்வி மிகப்பெரிய மாற்றத்தை உருவாக்கக்கூடிய கருவி.ஒரு முறை கல்வி கற்றால் ஏழு தலைமுறைகளும் வாழும் என்று கல்வியின் சிறப்பைச் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் எடுத்துரைத்தார்.

Mr.Vinai Katariya, Associate Vice President, Barclays is the Resource Person. The Faculty Development Programme was conducted with the objective of equipping faculty members with innovative teaching methodologies and contemporary educational practices. Mr.Vinai shared valuable insights into transforming management education through experiential learning, digital technologies, and outcome-based teaching. The Resource person focused on the use of case studies, simulations, role plays, project-based learning, flipped classrooms, and technology-enabled instructional tools to create engaging and effective learning experiences. The program encouraged educators to adopt learner-centric approaches that meet the evolving needs of higher education and the business world. The programme was highly interactive and provided meaningful insights into innovative teaching practices and reinforcing the importance of continuous professional development for educators.

The Department of Commerce (Computer Application), S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an industrial visit to Simpson & Co. Ltd., Anna Salai, Chennai, on 7 July 2026 for 51 students to provide hands-on exposure to industrial operations and manufacturing practices.
The students were welcomed by the company's officials, who introduced them to the organization's history, products, and contributions to the Indian automobile industry. Participants toured various departments, including production, quality assurance, inventory management, maintenance, and administration, gaining firsthand knowledge of modern manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and workplace safety practices.
An interactive session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding industrial management and career opportunities in the manufacturing sector. The visit significantly enhanced their understanding of production planning, organizational workflow, teamwork, and professional discipline.

The Department of Bachelor of Computer Applications, S.A. College of Arts & Science, inaugurated the Skill Elevation Club on 7 July 2026 at the college auditorium, followed by a guest lecture on "Corporate Expectations from Freshers." The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Asha Hariharan, Business Growth Strategist at TVS Next, Chennai. The event began with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu and a welcome address by Dr. K. Jamberi, Head of the Department. Newly elected student office bearers received badges and pledged to lead the club with dedication. In her address, Ms. Asha Hariharan highlighted the importance of communication, technical skills, teamwork, adaptability, professionalism, and continuous learning for career success. She also shared practical tips on resume writing, interviews, and career planning while encouraging students to participate in workshops, certifications, and hackathons. The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics of S.A. College of Arts & Science successfully organized a workshop on “Beyond Basics: Advanced Approaches in Nutrition Assessment” on 24 June 2026. The session was led by Dr. T. H. Hema, Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Nutrition, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Porur.
The workshop provided students with valuable insights into advanced nutrition assessment techniques, with a special focus on anthropometric assessment. Dr. Hema explained accurate measurement methods and their role in evaluating the nutritional status of adults, children, bedridden patients, and individuals with liver, cardiac, and renal disorders. Case studies and interactive discussions helped students understand the practical applications of these concepts.
An OSNE based activity was conducted to reinforce learning. Nineteen stations featuring nutrition assessment tasks and questions allowed students to apply their knowledge in a hands-on setting. The workshop was highly informative and strengthened students’ practical skills in nutrition assessment.

The Career Development Cell of SACAS organized a Government Exam Awareness Session for second-year students on 6.7.2026 to help them explore career opportunities in the public sector. The resource person provided detailed information on various competitive examinations, including RRB, TRB, and other government recruitment exams. Students were introduced to the exam pattern, syllabus, eligibility criteria, selection process, and job opportunities available while pursuing their degree. The session also highlighted current vacancy trends, appointment procedures, and effective preparation strategies. The interactive programme motivated students to begin their preparation early and make informed career decisions, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to pursue government careers successfully.

SACAS Hosts Men's Tennis Tournament
The Department of Physical Education of S.A. College of Arts & Science, Thiruverkadu, successfully conducted the Men's Tennis Tournament on campus today. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 20 players representing various districts across Tamil Nadu, making the event both competitive and vibrant.
The tournament was organised under the guidance of Dr. A. Ramakrishnan, Director of Physical Education (DPE), with the support of Mr. R. Hari Babu, Assistant Directors of Physical Education (ADPE). The event was conducted smoothly, providing participants with an excellent platform to demonstrate their technical skills, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit.
After a series of closely contested matches, S.R. Abishek Raja of Thirunelveli emerged as the champion, while R. Selvam of Chennai secured the runner-up position. The tournament concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, appreciating the outstanding performances of the players and reaffirming the college's commitment to promoting excellence in sports.
