AI Avatar Workshop at SACAS Empowers Students with Global Insights.

The Department of Visual Communication, S.A. College of Arts & Science , successfully hosted a One-Day International Workshop on “AI Avatar” on 12th September 2025 in hybrid mode at the CG Lab, with live YouTube streaming for global reach.
Mr. Vigneshwar V G, AI Enthusiast and Digital Creator from New Zealand, delivered an engaging session on AI-driven avatar creation and its applications in gaming, VR, education, and healthcare. Over 100 students participated in interactive demonstrations and hands-on assignments. The workshop enhanced their technical skills, encouraged innovation, and provided valuable international exposure, making it a resounding success.

The Department of Physical Education,at S.A. CollegeofArts & Science, proudly hosted the University of Madras Women’s B-Zone Chess, Table Tennis, and Ball Badminton Tournament 2025–2026 on 10th September 2025. The  women’s Ball Badminton team displayed great talent and determination, securing the 4th place trophy.

In the opening round, SACAS outplayed Anna Adarsh College with a strong score of 35/14. Continuing their winning streak, the team defeated KCS Kasinadar College with impressive scores of 35/16 and 35/13. Entering the semifinals, the players put up a spirited fight but lost to Nazareth College, 27/35 and 23/35. In the playoff for 3rd place, SACAS battled hard against Women’s Christian College but finished 4th overall.

The championship title was claimed by Ethiraj College, followed by Nazareth College in 2nd place and Women’s Christian College in 3rd.

The Department extends heartfelt congratulations to our team and wishes them more victories ahead!


Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics, along with the F3 Nutrition Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized NutriFun Fiesta on 10.09.2025

The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics, along with the F3 Nutrition Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized NutriFun Fiesta on 10th September 2025 as part of the National Nutrition Month Celebrations.

The event took place at Sarojini Varadappan Girls Higher Secondary School and Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Poonamallee, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fiesta was designed to create awareness among school children about the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits through interactive sessions, fun games, traditional Villupatu, and a lively drama performance.

Students were encouraged to make smart food choices, adopt balanced diets, and embrace healthier lifestyles. The program combined learning with enjoyment, leaving a lasting impact on young participants.

The initiative highlighted the department’s commitment to building a Suposhit Bharat and concluded with appreciation for the active participation of students and the efforts of faculty and organizers.


Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the Rotary Club organized “The Mentor Mashup 2025” on 09.09.2025

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the Rotary Club of Ambattur (RID 3234/Rising Group 01), successfully organized “The Mentor Mashup 2025” at the SACAS Preview Theatre. The event was held to celebrate and recognize the significant contributions of faculty members in shaping the academic and personal growth of students.

During the event, four distinguished faculty members were formally honored for their exceptional dedication to mentoring, inspiring students, and fostering a culture of knowledge and excellence. These awards highlighted their commitment to innovative teaching practices, continuous support, and their role in empowering students to reach their full potential.

The ceremony commenced at 12:00 PM and featured motivational speeches, expressions of gratitude, and a structured award presentation. The program was presided over by the President and Secretary of the Rotaract Club, with faculty coordinators playing an active role in the event’s success.

This recognition emphasizes the college’s continued focus on academic excellence and its strong belief in the power of mentorship as a transformative force in education. The Mentor Mashup 2025 served as a platform to honor those educators who go above and beyond in nurturing the next generation of leaders.

SACAS Men’s Handball Team Clinches 3rd Place in B-Zone Tournament

The Department of Physical Education, S.A. College of Arts & Science, proudly announces that our Men’s Handball Team secured the 3rd place trophy along with merit certificates in the University of Madras Men’s B-Zone Handball Tournament 2025–2026, held at Nazareth College, Avadi, on 11th September 2025.

The team began their campaign with an impressive win against DG Vaishnav College, scoring 08–04. In the semifinal, they fought hard but lost a close match to Madras Christian College with a score of 10–12. The players bounced back in style in the 3rd place playoff, defeating St. Thomas College with an outstanding score of 13–02, thus securing the 3rd position overall.

The Department of Physical Education congratulates the team for their remarkable performance and wishes them continued success in future tournaments. Their teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship remain a source of pride for the college.

S.A. College National Welfare Project Student Leaders Oath Taking Ceremony and Pet Awareness Program

SA. College of Arts and Science organized a Pet Awareness Program for the Student Leaders of the National Welfare Project on September 4, 2025 at the college auditorium.

The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Sudha Chandrasekhar, President and Founder of the Chance Animal Welfare Foundation, as the special guest. The event was graced by the Coordinator of the National Welfare Project, Mr. Vijayakumar, who welcomed the special guests with a golden dress.

At this event, he provided students with a lot of information about domestic animals and how to protect animals. He explained the methods of raising pets, vaccination and care in a very interesting way for the students.

Then, the student leadership took place. The special guest presented badges to the student leaders of the National Welfare Project. National Welfare Program students participated enthusiastically in this event.


University of Madras Men’s B-Zone Badminton Tournament 2025–2026 on 03.09.2025

SACAS Men’s Badminton Team Shines as Runners-Up at University of Madras B-Zone Tournament.

The S.A. College of Arts & Science Men’s Badminton Team achieved a historic milestone by securing the Runner-Up Trophy at the University of Madras Men’s B-Zone Badminton Tournament 2025–2026, held on 3rd September 2025.

In a spirited final match against D.G. Vaishnav College, the SACAS team put up a strong fight but ended the game with a 0–2 scoreline. Despite the result, this marks the first-ever Runner-Up finish for the college, making it a proud moment for the institution.

CM Trophy Thiruvallur District Weightlifting Championship 2025-2026

our SACAS University women's weightlifter Oviya, from 2nd B.Sc. Nutrition, won the gold medal with a cash award of ₹3000 in the CM Trophy Thiruvallur District Weightlifting Championship 2025-2026 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai. She lifted a total of 112 kg in the 48 kg category (Snatch: 52 kg + Clean and Jerk: 60 kg). On behalf of the Department of Physical Education.

SACAS's Bank Management Students Gain Industry Exposure at Lotte India.

The Department of Bank Management , S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized an industrial visit to Lotte India Corporation Ltd, Chennai on 4th September 2025 as part of its academic enrichment program. A total of 54 students participated, accompanied by Dr. M. Prabhakar and Dr. M. Neelabai, Assistant Professors, who guided the visit.

The objective of the visit was to bridge classroom learning with real-world FMCG operations. Students were given an orientation session on the company’s history, products, and market strategies, followed by a guided factory tour. They observed raw material storage, production processes, quality control, packaging, and dispatch systems, along with safety and hygiene practices.

The visit provided students with practical insights into manufacturing, quality assurance, logistics, and corporate work culture. It also enhanced their understanding of teamwork, ethics, and industrial safety standards.

The department thanked Lotte India’s management for their hospitality and the faculty coordinators for organizing this enriching experience.
