ZERAG 2025: SACAS Unites Against Ragging with Powerful Awareness Events.

The Department of Accounting & Finance at S.A. College of Arts & Science, along with the SACAS Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals and the SACAS’ians Fin.Tech Club, hosted ZERAG – Anti-Ragging Week Events on August 13, 2025. Students from all departments were invited to take part in a series of impactful activities promoting a ragging-free campus.

The day began with a Human Chain by A&F students from SV School Gate to SAEC Gate, symbolizing unity and spreading public awareness. They also conducted an Anti-Ragging Rally from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., starting from the college entrance and proceeding to the arch. Students actively participated, holding placards displaying anti-ragging slogans. Following this, inter-departmental events based on the anti-ragging theme included Essay Writing, Poster Making (online/offline), Speech, Slogan Writing, and Short Film.

ZERAG aimed to educate students about the serious consequences of ragging while encouraging values like respect, empathy, and inclusion. The event not only raised awareness but also strengthened SACAS' commitment to safety and harmony, leaving a strong message across the campus.

எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறை பேச்சுப் பயிற்சிப் பட்டறையை ஆகஸ்ட் 13, 2025 அன்று கல்லூரித் திரையரங்கில் நடத்தியது. இந்நிகழ்வில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் புகழ்பெற்ற பட்டிமன்றப் பேச்சாளர் திரு. துரைப்பண்டியன்  அவர்கள் உரையாற்றினார். 

இந்நிகழ்வில், இவர்  மாணவர்களுக்கு மேடையில் எவ்வாறு பேசுவது என்பதையும் மாணவர்கள் எவ்வாறு இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதையும் எடுத்துரைத்தார். மேடையில் பேசுவதற்கான உத்திகளையும் எவ்வாறு தகவல்கள் சேகரிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதையும் பயமின்றிப் பேச வேண்டும் என்பதையும் எவ்வாறு பேச வேண்டும் என்பதையும் மாணவர்களுக்கு எடுத்துரைத்தார்.  அதுமட்டுமின்றி, நம் அன்றாட வேளையில் செய்யக்கூடிய செயல்களையும் கூறினார்.

 இந்நிகழ்வில் தாய், தந்தை மற்றும் உறவினர்களுடன் வாழ வேண்டும் என்பதை நகைச்சுவையாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். இவர் பாடல்வழியாக மாணவர்களுக்குச் செய்தினைக்  கூறியதால் மிகவும் ஈடுபாட்டுடன் கவனித்தனர். பிறகு நாட்டுப்பண்ணுடன் நிகழ்வு நிறைவடைந்தது. இதில் 250 மாணவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிற்பித்தனர்.

Faculty Development Programme on Strategic Leadership and Team Synergy at SACAS.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme on Strategic Leadership and Team Synergy on August 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

Mr. Vinai Katariya, Vice President – Barclays, led the inaugural session on Leadership in Academia, stressing the vital role of leaders in higher education, key competencies, and the challenges they face.

The second session, Leadership Pizza, conducted by Dr. Viji, Director – SOM, was interactive. Participants assessed their leadership strengths and weaknesses through a visual self-evaluation. Dr. Viji concluded by emphasizing that self-awareness, focused growth, and meaningful dialogue are the cornerstones of effective leadership.

Dr. Sreeya, Professor – SOM, led the final session, Synergize for Success – Unlocking the Power of Teams. Through team activities, the session demonstrated how collaboration, creativity, and shared goals enhance leadership and team performance.

The programme was insightful and highly engaging for all participants.

Unlocking Web Development:  Django & Python Workshop at SACAS.

The Department of Computer Science with AI, at S.A. College of Arts & Science recently organized a successful hands-on workshop featuring expert trainer Mr. Senthilan, who introduced students to the power of Python and the Django web framework.

The session began with the basics of Python, emphasizing its simplicity and wide usage, and then moved into Django’s core features like apps, models, views, and the MVT architecture. Students explored key web development concepts such as URL routing, templates, forms, and both front-end and back-end design.

A live demo guided students through installing Django and creating a project from scratch. Practical exercises helped them build simple web applications, reinforcing their learning through real-time coding.

The workshop provided a solid foundation in web development, leaving participants more confident in creating dynamic, database-driven websites. The event was a major step toward helping students bridge the gap between theory and practical implementation in modern web technologies.


Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science hosted an inspiring session 09.08.2025

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ambattur (RI District 3234 / Rising Group 1), hosted an inspiring session titled “Why Rotary? Why Rotaract?” on August 9, 2025.

The event featured Rtn. Biju Narayanan as the chief guest and keynote speaker. He spoke about the mission and values of Rotary and Rotaract, focusing on service, leadership, and global connection. He also shared real-life success stories from Rotary projects that motivated students to become changemakers.

The session was interactive, with students actively participating, asking questions, and showing keen interest in joining future Rotaract initiatives.

This event not only introduced the importance of community service and personal growth but also inspired students to take on leadership roles with a purpose. The positive energy and engagement clearly reflected the event’s success in connecting youth to Rotary’s global vision.


S.A.College of Arts Science organised Human chain on the theme “Smog Free Future” on 06.08.2025

The Petrichor (Sustainability Club) and the Eco Club of the School of Management, S.A.College of Arts Science organised Human chain on the theme “Smog Free Future” on 6.08.2025 at 8.00 am. from College Gate. Students carried placards highlighting the importance of saving environment and saying “No to pollution”. Members of both clubs worked together in a coordinated manner to engage participants and spread the message of protecting nature through responsible practices. Students of BBA & MBA actively participated in the Human Chain by spreading appositive note to adopt sustainable measures in their daily lives, thus reinforcing the belief that small steps by individuals can lead to a big change for the planet.


Department of Commerce (Computer Application) at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a powerful awareness session on 12.08.2025

The Department of Commerce (Computer Application)at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a powerful awareness session titled “POSHitive Workplace – Safety with Respect” on 12th August 2025, focusing on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013. Around 200 students participated in this two-hour interactive event led by Mrs. Sudha Murali, a certified POSH & POCSO enabler and corporate trainer.

The session aimed to create awareness about sexual harassment at workplaces, educate students on their rights, and encourage respectful behavior. Key topics included types of harassment, complaint procedures, and real-life case studies. Students actively engaged in role-plays, group discussions, and Q&A sessions, making the session lively and impactful.

Participants left the event feeling confident and informed. Certificates were given to all attendees, acknowledging their commitment to creating safe and inclusive spaces. The session inspired many to become awareness ambassadors in their future workplaces and communities.


Department of Corporate Secretaryship at S.A. College of Arts & Science, hosted a mentorship session on 11.08.2025

Empowering Minds: Mentorship Session on Research Methods and Statistics at SACAS On 11th August 2025, the Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association, under the Department of Corporate Secretaryship at S.A. College of Arts & Science, hosted a mentorship session on “Research Methodology & Statistical Tools Used in Higher Education.” Held at the SACAS Auditorium, the session was led by Dr. S. Venkatesan, Assistant Professor with 22 years of experience.

With 121 students in attendance, the session explored key research concepts including data types, levels of measurement, hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and tools like Chi-Square and Fisher’s Exact Test. Dr. Venkatesan clearly explained parametric vs non-parametric data and the importance of confidence intervals. Visual aids like scatter plots and box plots made complex ideas easier to grasp.The event was well-organized by the student leaders.

Librarian’s Day Celebrated with Inspiring Talk on Competitive Exam Preparation at SACAS On 11th August 2025, the Central Library of S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with Anna Centenary Library, organized a Special Talk on “Basic Preparation for Competitive Exams” at the SACAS Auditorium. The event, held in celebration of Librarian’s Day, honored the legacy of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan.

Two distinguished speakers, Mr. S. Raju and Mr. S. Manikandan from Anna Centenary Library, led the session. They shared practical tips on exam strategies, time management, essential study resources, and effective use of libraries and e-resources.

Around 400 students, faculty, and aspirants actively participated, finding the session insightful and motivational. The talk served not only as a tribute to librarians but also as a valuable guide for students aiming for success in competitive exams. It highlighted the evolving role of libraries as vital hubs for academic growth and skill development.

SACAS Spreads Awareness: United Stand Against Drug Abuse On 11th August 2025, the Department of  Accounting & Finance at S.A. College of Arts & Science conducted a powerful Anti-Drug Awareness Programme as part of the “Drug-Free Tamil Nadu” initiative. The event aimed to educate students on the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, inspired by the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin.

Over 2,000 students took the anti-drug pledge in their classrooms under the guidance of faculty mentors. The session featured Mr. Akash, Sub-Inspector, Thiruverkadu Police Station, who delivered an informative and eye-opening talk on drug types, their availability, and the mental, physical, and social impacts of usage.

The programme effectively raised awareness, encouraged self-discipline, and promoted collective responsibility among students. It left a lasting impact, motivating youth to say NO to drugs and build a safer, healthier society through shared commitment and peer awareness.
