Aspiration Ignites: Investiture Ceremony of Management Club Held at SACAS On 11th August 2025 at 2:00 PM, the School of Management at S.A. College of Arts & Science hosted the Investiture Ceremony of its Management Club, “Aspiration.” The event marked a significant milestone in empowering future leaders through structured student engagement.

The ceremony was graced by Mrs. Gayathri Vasudevan, Associate Director – Business Development, QBurst, as the Chief Guest. She formally inducted the newly appointed office bearers and congratulated them on taking up key responsibilities.

In her inspiring address, Mrs. Gayathri encouraged students to lead with integrity, innovation, and initiative, emphasizing the club’s role in building leadership, team-building, and entrepreneurial skills. She also engaged in a lively interaction with students, sharing insights on effective management practices and club-based initiatives.

KAINOTOZAPPY’2025 Inspires Young Innovators at SACAS

The Department of Computer Science, S.A. College of Arts and Science, in association with ICT Academy, Computer Society of India, and Pantech, hosted KAINOTOZAPPY’2025 – an interschool symposium under The Nexus Technovate Club – on August 9, 2025, at the SACAS Auditorium and multiple venues. The event began at 9:00 a.m., drawing an enthusiastic participation of 332 students from Classes VIII to XII across various schools.

The symposium was inaugurated by Mr. Pradeep A M, Manager & Business HR, Campus & Institutional Alliances, Movate Technologies Pvt. Ltd., who delivered an inspiring address on innovation, creativity, and the value of continuous learning.

Competitions were judged by distinguished experts: Mr. Gurunathan, Full Stack Developer, MeYaa Technologies (Renew Creations – Best out of Waste); Smt. Sujipriya Rajkamal, Carnatic Vocalist & Proprietor, R.D Music School (Songstuck Mania – Singing); Ms. Vaishnavi S, Assistant Professor, English, SACAS (Inkwell Challenge – Essay Writing); Smt. Hemamalini, Classical Dancer, Navarasa Natya Kalalayam (Beat Stryke Fusion – Dance); and Mrs. Shridevi V, Assistant Professor, Visual Communication, SACAS (Imaginest – Drawing).

Guided by Mr. P. Chandrasekar, HoD of Computer Science and Applications, and supported by faculty and students, KAINOTOZAPPY’2025 successfully blended academics, arts, and industry insights, fostering creativity, collaboration, and confidence among young talents.


Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts & Science organizing a high-impact Two-Day Workshop on August 8 and 9, 2025

SACAS leads the Way in Virtual Reality Filmmaking Training Chennai, August 9: The Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts & Science, Thiruverkadu, took a major step forward in immersive media education by organizing a high-impact Two-Day Workshop on Virtual Reality Filmmaking on August 8 and 9, 2025. Fully supported by the Honourable Correspondent, Principal, and Director, the event set a new standard in hands-on media training.

The workshop was led by Mr. D. Gnana Livingston, Assistant Professor at LV Prasad College of Media Studies, who expertly combined theory with live VR demonstrations. Students learned about 360°/180° formats, 3D integration, camera rigging, stitching, editing, and colour correction, while also experiencing cutting-edge VR through Meta Quest headsets.

The sessions were praised for their depth and industry relevance. Mr. Livingston commended the college’s infrastructure and student engagement, calling it a model for immersive media education. The management reaffirmed its commitment to future-ready, industry-linked programs that empower students with real-world skills.


Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) successful meet of Pioneers & Professionals - Alumni Insights: Session 2 on 08.08.2025

In collaboration with the SACAS Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals, the Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)  arranged a successful meet of Pioneers & Professionals - Alumni Insights: Session 2 on Friday, 8 th August 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 11.00 a. m. at the TF 23.

This session was targeted to fill this gap between the academic curriculum and the professional practice by filing the information gap between the successful alumni of schools and those who are current students. The guest of honor on the day was one of the most prominent alumni of the department Ms. Sreemathi E who motivated students with a glimpse of her personal as well as professional life.

Ms. Sreemathi addressed approximately the same topic in her speech because she followed the example of students entering the corporate world after student life with its challenges and some issues that I have to face. She said that it is important to be adaptable, have a never-ending learning experience, and possess a good knowledge of accounting and finance rules and regulations.

The session proved to be very interactive and students engaged well with the speaker asking lots of questions and even having a discussion on the issue. Ms. The grounded experiences and pieces of advice given by Sreemathi gave insights and inspiration to students as they embark on their journeys of making their own career paths.

The session successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and real-world professional practice, offering students valuable exposure to industry expectations and career readiness.


Department of Bank Management at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an Industrial visit on 07.08.2025

Insight into Industry: SACAS Commerce Students Visit LLM Appliances Pvt. Ltd. On Monday, August 7, 2025, the Department of Bank Management at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an Industrial visit to LLM Appliances Pvt. Ltd. (Butterfly – Since 1935), located in Mambakkam, Chennai – 600127. The visit aimed to enrich students’ academic learning through real-world industrial exposure.

A group of 54 students, accompanied by Dr. M. Neelabai and Mr. T. Baladhandayudham, Assistant Professors, participated in the visit. The session began at 11:00 AM, with a warm welcome by Mr. S. Karthiban, Head of HR, who shared the company’s rich history and growth journey.

Mr. P. Premkumar, Executive – HRD, led a detailed plant tour, followed by an engaging technical session by Mr. A. Baskar, Head of Quality Control. He explained the production process, quality checks, packaging, and grading techniques, giving students deep insight into operational workflows.

The visit was both educational and inspiring, bridging theory and practice for the students.


Department of Corporate Secretaryship hosted a mentorship session on 07.08.2025

Empowering Financial Excellence: Lean Six Sigma Mentorship at SACAS On August 7, 2025, the Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association, under the Department of Corporate Secretaryship, at S.A. College of Arts & Science hosted a mentorship session on “Lean Six Sigma for Financial Process Improvement” at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was led by Mr. Rajesh Kannan, B.E., MBA, Managing Partner of EETTAL FINSERV, with 20+ years of expertise in investments, mutual funds, and financial consultancy.

The session began with insights on India’s economic rise, projecting it as the third-largest economy by 2030, driven by the MSME and startup sectors. Mr. Kannan introduced Lean Six Sigma—a blend of Lean’s waste reduction and Six Sigma’s error control. He explained the DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) and its role in financial process improvements like fraud reduction, faster transactions, and better risk management. The event was attended by 110 students and coordinated by student secretaries and office bearers.

“Bridge of Humanity” – SACAS Students Form Human Chain for Organ Donation Awareness On  August 7, 2025, the Red Ribbon Club (RRC), in association with the PG Department of Commerce at S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a powerful event titled “Bridge of Humanity” to mark World Organ Donation Day.

Held from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on the SACAS campus, the event saw active participation from students who came together to form a human chain. This symbolic gesture emphasized the importance of organ donation and encouraged a spirit of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about how organ donation can save lives and offer hope to those in need. The event also reinforced the role of educational institutions in promoting health awareness and community engagement, proving that even simple actions can create a lasting impact.

Bridging Academia and Industry: SACAS Signs MoU with FEDCOT On August 7, 2025, the Department of Accounting & Finance at S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the SACAS’ians Fin.Tech Club, hosted a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the Federation of Consumer Organisations of Tamil Nadu (FEDCOT), Chennai. Held at the SACAS Auditorium from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the event marked a crucial step toward strengthening academia-industry ties.

The MoU aims to promote consumer awareness, financial literacy, and ethical digital engagement among students. It lays the foundation for collaborative workshops, training, research, and outreach initiatives. Esteemed guests from FEDCOT and the Consumer Confederation of India (CCI), including Dr. M. Selvaraj and Mr. Joe Raymond, delivered impactful speeches on youth empowerment and social responsibility.

This collaboration promises long-term academic growth, real-time industry exposure, and a deeper understanding of consumer rights and ethical financial practices, shaping students into responsible, financially literate citizens.


Department of Corporate Secretaryship organised the Student Knowledge Transformation Study Circle on 06.08.2025

The Corporate Governance Professionals’ Association under the aegis of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship organised the Student Knowledge Transformation Study Circle #12 on the topic “Financial Discipline for Future Needs”. The session was presented by Ms. S. Shai Preethi, Vice President of the Association, Ms. K. Abitha, Cultural Secretary of the Association, from III B.Com. Corporate Secretaryship. A total of 115 students attended the session.

The presentation was initiated with an introduction to financial discipline and highlighted its importance. The presenters stated the common future financial needs of an average individual such as marriage and family expenses, purchase of houses/properties, medical expenses, purchase of vehicles, retirements savings, etc. They highlighted the 50-30-20 rule, which depicts 50% of income should be dedicated to essential needs, 30% to personal wants and desires and 20% to savings and investments. They discussed the actions one must take to achieve financial discipline such as setting financial goals, budgeting, aversion of impulse purchases, payment of bills on time, keeping track of financial transactions, etc. They also provided saving tips mainly applicable for students such as using student discounts, invest in Recurring Deposits and SIPs, limiting online subscriptions, etc. At the end of the session, the students understood why financial discipline is essential in achieving long-term goals and gained guidelines on how to make thoughtful choices about spending, borrowing and investing.


Department of Bank Management, hosted an “ED Orientation Program” on 05.08.2025

SACAS Celebrates World Entrepreneurship Day with Inspiring ED Orientation Program.

S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), ED Cell, and Department of Bank Management, hosted an “ED Orientation Program” on August 5, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the SACAS Auditorium. The event celebrated World Entrepreneurship Day and featured Mr. A. Thomas, Marketing Executive at Pidilite Industries Ltd., Chennai, and Ms. L. Karpagavalli, a professional artist associated with Fevicryl.

Ms. Karpagavalli shared insights into creative art forms like Lipan Art Painting, Kerala Mural Painting, and Tanjore on Fabric Jewelry. She explained how Fevicryl products can be used to create marketable artwork, encouraging students to explore art as a business.

Key topics included creative business skills, product usage, marketing, financial management, customer engagement, and workshop planning. Around 147 students and 3 faculty members attended, gaining valuable knowledge to turn their creativity into Entrepreneurial ventures.
