The Department of Psychology organized a guest lecture on the Psychological Well-being of Persons with Disabilities on 20.1.2025 in our college premises. Mr. A. Amrudhin, a Rehabilitation Officer in the Department of Clinical Psychology, NIEPMD with over a decade of experience, was invited to lead the session. The lecture aimed to shed light on the psychological challenges faced by persons with disabilities and to explore strategies to promote their mental health and overall well-being. The speaker highlighted the multifaceted challenges faced by persons with disabilities, which include: Social Stigma; Physical Barriers; Economic Constraints & Emotional Struggles. The lecture proposed several strategies to enhance the psychological well-being of persons with disabilities which provides Support Systems; Inclusive Policies; Mental Health Services & Education and Awareness.
The guest lecture was eye-opening and thought-provoking which underscored the importance of prioritizing the psychological well-being of persons with disabilities. It inspired the students to adopt a more empathetic and proactive approach to support this community. By fostering an inclusive environment and addressing barriers, society can enable persons with disabilities to thrive and contribute meaningfully to all aspects of life.

ICICI Prudential Organizes Campus Drive at SACAS Chennai, January 20, 2025: The students of SACAS witnessed an exciting opportunity today as ICICI Prudential Life Insurance conducted a campus recruitment drive at the college premises.
The selection process commenced with a Group Discussion, during which participants showcased their critical thinking and communication skills. This was followed by a One-on-One Interview, which provided students with a platform to present their abilities and qualifications on a more personal level.

The Department of Computer Science with AI, S. A. College of Arts & Science, hosted a celebration of Vivekananda Jayanti at the college grounds, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Indian Knowledge System (IKS).
The event began at 7:30 a.m. with an inaugural ceremony where dignitaries from Nehru Yuva Kendra, senior professors, and the institution’s Principal and Director honored Swami Vivekananda with a flower-pouring tribute.
An oath-taking ceremony followed, where students and faculty pledged to uphold Swami Vivekananda's values of courage, compassion, and societal betterment. The program highlighted the revitalization of IKS and its role in building a sustainable future, emphasizing SDGs 4 and 11.4.
The event concluded with active participation from all, serving as an inspiring reminder of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and their relevance today.

S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Grand Pongal Celebration Thiruverkadu, January 11, 2025: S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS) celebrated Pongal Sangamam 2025 with grandeur, organized by the Tamil Department and the Department of Commerce - Computer Application. The event was conducted under the guidance of Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar.
The celebration began with students preparing Pongal to mark the traditional festivities. A vibrant showcase of Tamil folk arts followed, presented by Sri Rangamma Kalai Koodam under the leadership of trainer Mr. Senthamizh Selvan. Performances included Thappattam, Oyilattam, Karagattam, Kavadiattam, Mayilattam, and Kattaikkal Aattam. Renowned folk singer Mrs. Palaniyammal enthralled the audience with her melodious songs.
Special guests from Zee Tamil's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, including Dinesh Pandey, Karthikeyan, and Simbu Jayakumar, captivated students with their film songs. SACAS students also contributed with performances in silambattam, group dances, and folk songs.
Adding excitement to the day, traditional games like Uriyadi and tug-of-war were held, with trophies awarded to the winners. Folk artists received certificates of appreciation for their performances.
This grand celebration highlighted Tamil heritage and traditions, further establishing SACAS as a proud promoter of cultural values.

The event took place in Preview Theatre on 10th January 2025, at 12:00 p.m. onwards. The Chief Guest Mr. P.A Joseph Dinesh, a Financial Wellness Coach with expertise in Financial Industry. As a dedicated professional and educator, Mr. P.A Joseph Dinesh aimed to help students to improve their skills in financial areas. In this session, more than 196 students and 7 faculty members participated. The following contents were discussed in the session.

The Times Fresh Face, Season 16, organized by S.A. College of Arts & Science in collaboration with Chennai Times, took place on January 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event showcased young talent across various performing arts, including acting, dancing, singing, stand-up comedy, and mimicry.
With 120 enthusiastic participants, the event was a platform for students to display their creativity and skills. The vibrant performances captivated the audience, creating an energetic and entertaining atmosphere. Each participant brought unique flair, reflecting the diversity of talent.
The competition not only celebrated artistic excellence but also fostered confidence and camaraderie among students. Judges, comprising notable personalities, had a tough time selecting winners due to the high quality of performances.
