The Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance), in collaboration with the Association of Accounting & Finance Professionals and the SACAS'ians Fin-Tech Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), organized a two-day Industrial Visit to Hatsun Agro Product Ltd., Redhills on 23rd and 24th June 2025. The visit was scheduled from 09.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. on both days.
This visit was aimed at bringing an end to the theoretical knowledge and imparting practical exposure to the students through giving them an actual understanding of the working and financial domain of a top dairy firm.
The Department visited it on 23rD June 2025 and 37 girls students attended the visit, on 24th January 2025 35 boy students were involved in the visit. Three faculty members accompanied the students throughout the program and made sure that they were guided, safe and coordinated.
The students were also shown different areas of the plant namely procurement, processing, packaging, and distribution plants. They also had the interactive session with the company personnel who discussed about the company supply chain management, quality control practices, financial activities and technological intervention in dairy product. The experience gave the students a good exposure to real-life learning which supplemented their learning in accounting and finance.
The feedback session at the end of the visit demonstrated gratitude on behalf of the students, who described their impressions and gained insights accompanied by the visit. The Department will continue to train more such industrial visits that will allow experiential learning to the students and develop career readiness.

Department of Commerce (Computer Application) successfully conducted a thought provoking guest lecture on "Overcome Fear and Self-Doubts as an Entrepreneur " on JUNE 24, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The session was led by the esteemed Dr. S. Smile Bose, an accomplished academic and motivational speaker with significant expertise in entrepreneurial mindset development. This empowering session aimed to equip students with the psychological and emotional tools necessary to transform fear and uncertainty into confidence and proactive decision- making in their entrepreneurial journeys.

positive self-talk, and peer support can build emotional strength. Dr. Smilee Bose

S.A. College of Arts & Science Celebrates 11th International Yoga Day with Enthusiasm
Chennai, June 21, 2025 – S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS) observed the 11th International Yoga Day with great spirit on its campus from 6:15 AM to 7:20 AM. Organised by the Department of Physical Education, the event welcomed Dr. Pon Anbarasu, Associate Professor, Y.M.C.A. College of Physical Education, as the chief guest. He was honoured with a shawl by Mr. G. Sivamaran, Director of Physical Education, and a bouquet by Mr. R. Haribabhu, Assistant Director.
Dr. Anbarasu led the session with Diyanam, Pranayama, and Surya Namaskar, explaining the significance and health benefits of yoga. Yoga Sports Scholarship students G. Pavithra and Y. Natchatra demonstrated advanced asanas under his guidance.
Around 120 sports students and staff actively participated. The event concluded with the National Anthem, with smooth arrangements managed by Tmt. Vasantha Laxchumi and Ms. Sandiya, Assistant Lady Physical Directors.

A Women’s Welfare Awareness Seminar was conducted on June 13, 2025, at the Auditorium of S.A. College of Arts & Science. This seminar was jointly organized by the college’s National Service Scheme (NSS) and Madha Medical College and Hospital. The seminar was successfully held with the valuable guidance of the College Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar.
The special guests for the event were Dr. P. Josephine Rosy, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Madha Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Vijayalakshmi Gnanasekaran, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from ACS Medical College and Hospital, and Dr. P.P. Premalatha, Former Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Tagore Medical College and Hospital. Dr. P. Josephine Rosy spoke about the importance of a nutritious and balanced diet for girls, how to manage food intake properly, and the value of good sleep in maintaining a sound physical health. Following her, Dr. Vijayalakshmi Gnanasekaran gave a speech on problems related to menstruation, how to face menstruation positively, awareness of diseases affecting women, and the importance of HPV vaccine to prevent Cervical cancer. Dr. P.P. Premalatha delivered a speech on mental health for women, how to protect a healthy mind, and the importance of developing positive thoughts.
At the end of the event, the Doctors answered various questions of the students and faculty members, clearing their doubts related to women's health. This event highlighted the college’s strong commitment to women’s welfare.

In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day, S.A. College of Arts & Science, Thiruverkadu, in collaboration with Madha Medical College and Research Institute, successfully organised the Uthiram 2025 blood donation camp on June 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event was jointly conducted by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) units of the college. A large number of NSS volunteers and UBA student members enthusiastically participated and donated blood.
The event was held under the guidance of College Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Director Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and Principal Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar. Participation certificates were distributed to all student donors. NSS Coordinator Mr. M. Vijayakumar, along with UBA Coordinators Dr. R. Srinivasan and Mr. S. Deepan, graced the occasion and encouraged the volunteers. The camp served as a meaningful gesture to promote the spirit of social responsibility among students.

SACAS Students Gain Hands-On Industry Exposure at Addison & Co. Ltd. On June 5, 2025, the Department of B.Com. (Computer Applications) of S. A. College of Arts & Science organised an industrial visit to Addison & Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of precision cutting tools. From 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, students explored real-time manufacturing operations and observed the operation of advanced machines, including CNC and PLC systems.
The objective was to bridge the gap between classroom theories and industrial practices. Students gained insights into tool manufacturing, quality control, automation, and sustainability. They also had the opportunity to interact with professionals and understand the challenges faced in real-world settings.
Key takeaways included hands-on learning with high-speed steel (HSS) and carbide tools, tool grinding, finishing processes, and the importance of safety and precision in production.
The visit proved to be a valuable learning experience, encouraging students to consider careers in manufacturing, automation, and R&D.

The Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts and Science organized a Fans Meet for Mugen Rao in anticipation of his upcoming Tamil film “JINN: The Pet”, set to release worldwide on 30th May 2025. The event was initiated and presented by Mr. R.D. Balaji, Course Director of the Department of Visual Communication, as part of the department’s extension activities. It was conducted exclusively for Visual Communication students, offering them a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the world of filmmaking. The core team of “JINN: The Pet”, including Director T.R. Bala and the film’s lead actor Mugen Rao, took the stage at 2:30 PM. The event quickly gained momentum with the participation of influencers, the technical crew, enthusiastic fans, and students. Anchor Diya gracefully welcomed the gathering and introduced Mr. Mugen Rao, highlighting his achievements from the early stages of his career. Mugen, who is also a singer and actor, emphasized that consistent effort is the key to success. Director T.R. Bala engaged the audience with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the horror-comedy film. He discussed the use of CG, animation, SFX, and prosthetics to achieve realistic ghost effects.
