The PG Department of Commerce (General) conducted a guest lecture session on *3rd July 2025,* from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., on the theme *Capvisory* ( Your Gateway to Investment Banking)
Mr. Bharani Kumar Y, an industry expert in finance and investment banking, served as the guest speaker. He provided an insightful overview of investment banking, discussing key services such as mergers & acquisitions, underwriting, and asset management. He also outlined career pathways, essential skill sets, evolving industry trends, and India’s role in the global investment banking landscape.
The interactive session concluded with a Q&A, where students engaged actively to deepen their understanding. The program was well-received, with attendees appreciating the practical insights and career guidance.

The Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts and Science proudly conducted Immersion Day 2025, a one-day induction programme designed to welcome and orient the first-year Visual Communication students. Held on 2nd July 2025 at the SACAS Theatre, the event was marked by the gracious presence of students, parents, faculty members, and distinguished guests.
The programme commenced at 10:00 AM, beginning with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu and a warm welcome to all attendees. The Course Director, Mr. R.D. Balaji, provided an insightful introduction and overview of the event, outlining its purpose and vision.He emphasised the role of media play vital role in day today life and instructed the students to be focused to catch their dreams.
The Placement Director shared insights on building discipline, nurturing creativity, and preparing for career opportunities.
The Head of the Department Dr.R. Srinivasan extended a heartfelt welcome to the Chief Guest, acclaimed film director Thiru. Rajesh M. Selva, known for his impactful films Thoongavanam and Kadaram Kondan. The support of Thiru. Venkateshraja, Correspondent; the Principal, and the Director of the institution ensured the success of the event through their continuous support and encouragement.
Purpose of the Event
Immersion Day 2025 aimed to:
Welcome the incoming batch of first-year Visual Communication students.
Offer orientation into the department’s academic and creative framework.
Provide exposure to real-world media practices through interaction.

SACAS Celebrates National Statistics Day with Insightful Session on Business Statistics
The Department of Mathematics, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the Mathelets Club, organized National Statistics Day on 30th June 2025 at the college premises. The event began with a warm welcome address and the introduction of the Chief Guest by Dr. G. Ambika, Head of the Department of Mathematics.
The highlight of the event was a thought-provoking session by Dr. A. Indumathi, Assistant Professor at DRBCCC Hindu College, who delivered an insightful talk on the Foundations of Business Statistics Tools for Data-Driven Decisions. Her session helped students understand the practical importance of statistics in business and analytics.
Certificates were distributed to winners of the Dumb Charades competition by the chief guest.

SACAS Students Gain Financial Wisdom at Behindwoods Wealth & Prosperity Summit 2025 Chennai, June 30, 2025 — A group of 65 enthusiastic students from SA College of Arts & Science participated in the prestigious Behindwoods Wealth & Prosperity Summit held at Holiday Inn, OMR (near SRP Tools), Chennai. The event ran from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM and featured 13 inspiring sessions led by top industry leaders, entrepreneurs, professors, and motivational speakers.
The participants included 6 students from BBA, 35 from MBA, and 24 from B.Com Corporate Secretaryship. The summit began with a powerful session by Mr. P.R. Sundhar, who emphasized the importance of creative and critical thinking. Mr. Nakkieran Gopal shared real-life lessons on overcoming challenges, while Mr. Soma Valliappan provided insights into trading, the stock market, and risk management.
Prof. Pattabiraman from IIT Madras guided students on equity investment strategies. Mr. Damodharan and Mr. Abdual Nabeel offered entrepreneurial insights, while Mr. Gopi shed light on gold investment. Mr. Sugi Sivam inspired students to view wealth beyond money—through knowledge and human connection.
Minister Thiru. Siva Mayyanathan spoke about education, women’s development, and government schemes. Other notable speakers included Mr. Gopinath, Mr. Faisal, Mr. Waseem Mubarak, and Mrs. Bharathi Baskar, each contributing valuable knowledge on finance, planning, and entrepreneurship.
The summit’s theme, “One Day Could Change Your Preparation Path Forever!” reflected the life-changing experience it offered. The event enhanced students' financial literacy, goal-setting skills, and business mindset, marking a significant step in their academic and personal growth.

The Department of Home Science – Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics, in association with the F3 Nutrition Club, organized an engaging guest lecture titled Fuel and Flex – Where Nutrition Meets Fitness on 28th June 2025 at S.A. College of Arts & Science.
The session was led by Dr. Enoch Newton Joseph, a renowned expert in sports medicine and fitness. He emphasized the vital connection between proper nutrition and physical fitness, stressing the importance of fueling the body correctly and maintaining flexibility through regular exercise.
Students actively participated in practical fitness testing methods including muscular strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and body composition assessments.
The interactive session offered both theoretical insights and hands-on experience, making it a valuable learning opportunity. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating Dr. Joseph’s contribution and the efforts of the organizing team and students.






S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign on 26.06.2025
S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign for all of its students. The purpose of the campaign was to create awareness about drug abuse, promote a healthy lifestyle among students, and encourage students to take a stand against drug abuse.
Key Highlights:
- Pledge Ceremony:
Each student participated in the Anti-Drug Pledge pledge as an active participant, pledging to stay away from drugs and assure others in the communities they belong to of the consequences of drug abuse.
- Form Submission:
A total of 1285 students completed and submitted the official anti-drug awareness forms, signifying their participation in the awareness campaign.
- E-Certificate Submission:
Students took pledge through Tamil Nadu Government Portal and then downloaded and submitted a soft copy version of their certificates to show they participated in the awareness campaign and completed the pledge.
- Awareness Sessions:
Students were given brief awareness messages that outlined drug abuse, peer pressure, and ways to reach out for help for themselves or others who may have issues with drug abuse.
Outcome:
Students developed a sense of responsibility and reaffirmed their commitment to be drug free in society and within their communities. The campaign also disseminated the message of having a healthier aware population of students thus having a positive contribution towards achieving the national mission of a Drug-Free India.

The Department of Computer Science, S.A College of Arts and Science, proudly organized an MOU Signing Ceremony and Guest Lecture under the banner of The Nexus Technovate Club on 25th June 2025 at 1:00 PM in the SACAS Auditorium.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Mr. P. Chandrasekar, Head of the Department. The guest lecture was delivered by Mr. K. Gowtham, Project Engineer at Pantech E-Solutions, later the company signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the department to foster academic-industry collaboration in emerging technologies.
The guest lecture focused on the trending domain of Prompt Engineering, a critical skill for optimizing human-AI interactions. Mr.K. Gowtham effectively covered the following key areas:
- Prompt Structure and Types
- Clarity and Specificity in Instruction Design
- Few-shot and Chain-of-Thought Techniques
- Iterative Prompt Refinement Strategies
- Ethical Considerations and Safety in AI Prompting
A total of 188 students actively participated in the session, gaining valuable exposure to
one of the most in-demand skills in the field of AI and machine learning.
Outcome of the Session:
Participants learned how to create effective AI prompts, write clearer and goal-oriented instructions, and utilize techniques such as role-based and step-by-step prompting. The session also emphasized the responsible and ethical use of AI systems, making students aware of their social and technical responsibilities while working with intelligent systems.
The event successfully bridged academic learning with industrial expectations and left a lasting impression on the students. The department extends heartfelt gratitude to Pantech E-Solutions and Mr. K Gowtham for their collaboration and impactful session. The MOU stands as a testament to the college’s commitment to continuous learning and innovation in the digital age.

Career Development Cell organized the “Placement Day 2025” celebration, which aimed to honour the alumni who had been placed in reputed corporate companies by issuing their offer letters.
The celebration started at 12:00 p.m. with the welcome address by Mrs. D. Mathivadhini, Assistant Professor, Department of Corporate Secretaryship. Dr. K. S. Prabhakar, Director of the Career Development Cell, presented the Annual Placement Report 2024-2025 which highlighted the training and placement drives such as department-specialized Value Added Courses, Aptitude training of varied difficulty to all years, HR conclaves, Faculty Development Programmes,etc and gave an overview about the percentage of passed-out students who have engaged in entrepreneurship, higher education and students who have placed.
Respected Principal, Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar delivered a special address, giving valuable guidelines on the importance of training and placement efforts,
The Chief Guest for the celebration, Mr. Joshwa David, India Campus Head – Mphasis delivered the guest address, in which he highlighted the importance of continuous learning, adaptability to new environment and technological mastery. He instilled the ideology of D.A.T.E - Discipline, Attitude, Time Management and Empathy, and the ideology of H.H.H – Being Human, Being Humble and Being Happy. He also touched upon the attitude and different skills that a candidate must have while attending interviews.
