The Inter-school competition "Kainotozappy," held on January 9, 2025, at the SACAS Auditorium, was a grand success, bringing together 185 students from various schools to showcase their talents in a vibrant and competitive atmosphere.
The event was inaugurated by the distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. Doreen Robin, Founder-Director of CIRF. In her address, Dr. Robin emphasized the importance of creativity, teamwork, and innovation in shaping young minds. Her words of encouragement resonated with the students and set an inspiring tone for the day's proceedings.

S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Seminar on Empowering the Next Generation of Women in STEM: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities under NEP On January 8, 2025, the “Empowering the Next Generation of Women in STEM: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities under NEP” seminar, organized by the School of Commerce at S.A. College of Arts & Science and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research - SRC (ICSSR-SRC), attracted widespread attention, receiving over 100 article submissions on its theme. The seminar aimed to address gender disparities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and align with India's Vision Viksit Bharat @ 2047, marking the 100th year of independence.
Focusing on the obstacles women face in STEM, such as gender bias, harassment, the glass ceiling, and work-life balance issues, the seminar sought to empower women to overcome these challenges and contribute to a more inclusive society under the National Education Policy (NEP). The seminar’s objectives included exploring the current status of women in STEM, identifying NEP opportunities, and proposing actionable recommendations for policymakers and educational institutions.
The event addressed key themes, including promoting gender equality in STEM education, enhancing leadership opportunities for women, and sharing national and international best practices.
An exceptional lineup of speakers shared valuable insights:
Dr. RameshBabu Boga, Managing Director of BogaR Laboratories LLC, USA, delivered the keynote address on the challenges and opportunities for women in STEM.
Ms. Jananee Jayakumar, State VP of the Karnataka Anti Sexual Harassment Council, spoke on work-life harmony.
Mr. Deepak, President of GUVI Geek Networks, discussed fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.
Ms. Ponniyinselvi K M, Senior Manager at Cognizant Technology Solutions, shared leadership strategies.
The seminar concluded with a valedictory address by Ms. Adhilakshmi Logamurthy, an accredited mediator and gender consultant.

The Department of Visual Communication, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized the screening of the Tamil suspense thriller LARA on 8th January 2025 in the SACAS Preview Theatre. This event was spearheaded by Mr. R.D. Balaji, Course Director of the Department of Visual Communication, as part of the department’s initiative to provide students with first-hand exposure to filmmaking and storytelling in contemporary Tamil cinema. The program commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. R. Srinivasan, Head of the Department of Visual Communication. Dr. Srinivasan emphasized the importance of integrating practical learning experiences like film screenings and interactions with industry professionals into the academic curriculum. Following the welcome address, Mr. R.D. Balaji delivered an Introduction of the Chief Guest and Program Overview. He highlighted the significance of the movie LARA in contemporary Tamil cinema, particularly for its narrative style, gripping screenplay, and the impactful performances of the cast. The screening of LARA began at 9:45 AM and captivated the audience for its entire runtime of 1 hour and 57 minutes. The film, which was released in theatres across Tamil Nadu on 3rd January 2025, has garnered attention for its intense storyline and powerful visuals. Written and directed by Mani Moorthi, LARA stars Ashok Kumar Balakrishnan, M. Karthikesan, Anusreya Rajan, and Varshini Venkat in pivotal roles. The movie delves into themes of resilience, betrayal, and justice, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with its suspenseful twists and emotionally charged performances.

To commemorate 75 years of Indian Constitution, the School of Management organised a human chain from SACAS gate to SAEC gate on January 7, 2025. The students of SOM enthusiastically participated in the human chain, displaying placards with slogans empasizing the Supreme Law of the land. This event was conducted to impact the young minds with positivity and to create awareness about their duties & responsibilities.

SACAS Hosts 1st State-Level Inter-Schools Staff Tournament
S.A. College Arts & Science's Department of Physical Education successfully organized the SACAS 1st State Level Inter-Schools Staff Tournament, "Unity Sports Carnival," showcasing remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship.
The event commenced with an inauguration by the esteemed Director, Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, and the beloved Principal, Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, who launched the Women's Staff Throwball Match. The Men's Staff Tennis Ball Cricket Match was inaugurated by Dr. S. Ganapathy, HoD of B.Com. CS, while Dr. R. Srinivasan, HoD of B.Sc. Vis Com, distributed prizes to the winners.
Special thanks were extended to the Correspondent Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja for his unwavering support, along with the Physical Education staff, Visual Communication Department, sports volunteers, and non-teaching staff, whose contributions were instrumental in the event's success. The participation of sports students as umpires ensured fair play and professionalism.
The tournament celebrated unity and sportsmanship, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.

SA College of Arts and Science witnessed an electrifying event on January 6, 2025, through the much-anticipated open mic program, PUDHU VIBE (New Vibe), brought to life today by the creative collaboration of Department of Visual Communication and Tamil Department. The Fueling pot for all the new youthful energies, creativity, really living up to its name of PUDHU VIBE, in association with the FM station, Radio City 91.1, who give a new launch pad for some of its best students to find their voice, singing.
There were about 135 participants, mostly students from the host institution and neighbouring schools and SA Engineering College. This would mean a mixture of participants that brought different perspectives and made the day lively and dynamic.
PUDHU VIBE was an open mic format where participants would do poetry, storytelling, singing, stand-up comedy, and much more. The students take this platform to share every minute thought on social issues to personal experiences; light-hearted to the performances of art.
The creativity and raw talent that the participants brought to the table were not filtered, making it a spectacular event. Many of the performances were emotionally touching for the audience, while others left them laughing in delight. Several students used the stage to bring to light some of the social concerns relevant to their lives, making the event not only entertaining but also thought-provoking.
Radio City 91.1 lent a professional edge to the program. The engagement of the FM station ensured mass reach and helped heighten excitement among participants and attendees.
Both departments' faculty members were thrilled to see the students' talent and creativity showcased. They agreed that such programs are essential for developing creative talent and making people feel like part of a group.
PUDHU VIBE left a mark on all of them by the end of the day. This event has been a proof that there is indeed a need for more platforms to hear young voices. The students and organizers alike are already looking forward to the next edition and eager to continue the tradition of celebrating creativity and innovation.
PUDHU VIBE was much more than an event and an experience with the vibrant spirit of SA College of Arts and Science.







Rotaract club of S.A. College of Arts & Science conduct “Gen Beta”, Club orientation program for Green Rotaracters on 06.01.2025
The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science successfully organized its much-anticipated event, GEN BETA - Club Orientation, on January 6, 2025, at the SACAS Preview Theatre. The session aimed to inspire and guide the newly inducted 150 Green Rotaractors about the essence and importance of being part of the Rotaract movement.
The program commenced with a warm welcome to the participants, followed by an insightful introduction to the club's vision and mission. The highlight of the event was an engaging address by the distinguished Guest Speaker, PDRR. Solomon Victor. His session on the "Importance of Rotaract Club" captivated the audience as he eloquently elaborated on how Rotaract serves as a platform for personal growth, leadership development, community service, and fostering global connections.
PDRR. Solomon Victor shared inspiring anecdotes from his journey in Rotaract, emphasizing the value of collaboration and the club's transformative impact on individuals and society. His insights motivated the young Rotaractors to take up responsibilities and actively contribute to both the club and the community.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session where participants enthusiastically raised queries, which were addressed with practical advice and encouragement. The energy and enthusiasm in the room underscored the success of the orientation program.
GEN BETA was a remarkable initiative by the Rotaract Club of SACAS, setting a strong foundation for its Green Rotaractors to embark on a journey of service, leadership, and fellowship.







Department of BCom CA Industrial Visit to Tiruttani Co-op Sugar Mills Ltd on 04.01.2025
This visit to the Tiruttani Co-op Sugar Mills Ltd was to enable the students to accompany practical ideas in a functioning of Sugar manufacturing plant by identifying the processes and methodologies in handling sugar manufacturing processes and quality checking measures in the sugar manufacturing industries. The purpose of this visit is therefore to reduce the theory practice gap.
Tiruttani Co-op Sugar Mills Ltd is the largest cooperative sugar mill manufacturer situated in Tamil Nadu that is renowned for its superior quality sugar. The mill which was established with the aim to support the economy of the state and promote independent sugarcane farmers in the region is the one that supports the sugar and sugary products manufactured from sugarcane. Organisation has well equipped machinery, the production practice uses is eco-friendly hence transforms it to one of the best organizations.
The student said that they enjoyed the visit as it enriched them with knowledge and gave them a special chance to watch the work of the industry. Some said that it enriched their academic course and helped them appreciate better aspects of sugar production.
They congratulated the mill for its management for hosting them and offering a filled with knowledge.
This was useful for participants to gain knowledge about the operations of the sugar industry and its impact to the economy.
