The Viscom students from S.A. College of Arts and Science recently participated in an exciting video game competition at the IIT Research Center, centered around the Ayevee application. The event was a unique blend of creativity and technology, providing students with a platform to showcase their gaming skills and creativity. The competition featured a diverse range of games, and the students enthusiastically engaged in the event, enjoying both the competitive spirit and the opportunity to interact with peers from different institutions. The Ayevee application, known for its user-friendly interface and innovative features, allowed participants to explore new gaming dimensions, making the experience both challenging and enjoyable.

Department of Computer Science in association with the Department of Computer Applications organized an Orientation Session on *Campus to Corporate*,an Internship programme at our college auditorium. Mr. Abishek Ranjan, Director of Business Development PRS Group of Companies was the Guest of the Day. Around 200 students of various departments attended the programme.The Guest explained the various insights of obtaining an internship together with the placement opportunities. Totally it was an useful session for all the students.

SACAS's Department of Physical Education organizes the 3rd Inter-Department Cross Country & celebration of the 12th National Sports Day on 29.08.2024
SACAS's Department of Physical Education organizes the 3rd Inter-Department Cross Country running race: 8 km for Boys and 5 km for Girls in celebration of the 12th National Sports Day 2024 on our campus. The top 5 places will receive medals along with merit certificates for both Boys and Girls, with points awarded as follows: 1st place - 7 points, 2nd place - 5 points, 3rd place - 3 points, 4th place - 2 points, and 5th place - 1 point. Participation certificates will be given to all. After the event, our chief guest, Mr. R.G. Jayakumar, Inspector of Police, will present the medals and certificates to the prize winners.

On the Day 1 of the workshop, Mr.V.J.Saravanan tested the students’ knowledge, on digital marketing and shared the interesting aspects of digital marketing. He also taught the students on content management systems and taught them how to create website. The session was very interesting and interactive.

எஸ்.ஏ.கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களின் திறன்களை மேம்படுத்துவதில் முன்னணி வகிக்கிறது. மாணவர்கள் தங்கள் அறிவுத்திறனை மேம்படுத்த புத்தகங்களை வாசிப்பது முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்தது. அப்பழக்கம் தொடர்ச்சியான கற்றல் அனுபவத்தை மாணவர்களிடையே உருவாக்கும். அதைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு மாணவர்களின் வாசிப்புத் திறனை மேம்படுத்தும் வண்ணம் எஸ்.ஏ. கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த்துறையும், நூலகத்துறையும் இணைந்து 'புத்தகம் பேசுது' என்ற நிகழ்ச்சியை ஆகஸ்ட் 29, 2024 அன்று நண்பகல் 12 மணிக்குக் கல்லூரிக் கலையரங்கில் நடத்தியது. நிகழ்ச்சியின் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகப் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் இ.கே.தி. சிவகுமார் அவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தார்.
மாதந்தோறும் நடைபெற உள்ள இந்நிகழ்ச்சியின் முதல் நிகழ்வாகப் பாரதியார் கவிதைகள் மற்றும் பாரதிதாசன் கவிதைகள் ஆகிய இரண்டு நூல்களை எட்டு மாணவர்கள் விமர்சனம் செய்து உரை நிகழ்த்தினர். பாரதியார், பாரதிதாசன் ஆகியோர் கவிதைகளில் மூழ்கி முத்தெடுத்த சிந்தனைகளை அவையின் முன்வைத்தனர். சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் மாணவர்களின் நூல் விமர்சனத்தை மகிழ்ச்சியாகக் கேட்டு ரசித்ததோடு, நூலின் முக்கியத்துவம், வாசிப்புப் பழக்கத்தால் உண்டாகும் அறிவு நுகர்வு, நூல்களை வாசித்துத் தாம் பெற்ற நுண்ணறிவு ஆகியவற்றை மாணவர்களின் முன் பகிர்ந்து, பல்துறை நூல்களைப் படிப்பதற்கு மாணவர்களை வலியுறுத்தினார். பல நூல்களைப் பயின்று மிகச்சிறந்த கற்றல் அனுபவத்தைப் பெற மிகப்பெரும் உந்துசக்தியைத் தருவதாக இந்நிகழ்ச்சி அமைந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts and Science has organized a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Film Appreciation” -Day 3
The third day of the Faculty Development Program focused on film appreciation and critical analysis, led by Mr. M. Sivakumar. The session began with the screening of short films, followed by in-depth discussions on how to watch, appreciate, and critically analyze movies. Emphasis on active viewing, understanding the filmmaker's intent, and paying attention to details like color, lighting, and sound. Participants learned to appreciate the aesthetic elements, narrative techniques, and emotional resonance that contribute to a film's artistry. Focus on contextual, technical, and thematic analysis, along with character and performance evaluation, to form well-supported critical perspectives. The session equipped participants with tools to engage more deeply with cinema, enhancing their ability to appreciate and analyze films critically.

School of Management organised an Industrial Visit for MBA & BBA students on 27/08/24 and 28/08/24 to Adani Port , Katupalli, Chennai. The visit to the port provided the students and indepth understanding of Port Operations, logistics at one of the modern multi Terminal Private port in India. The project manager at Adani, educated the students on the working of the port and also took them around the port and explained about various activities in the port, The students had the opportunity of seeing the loaded cargo ship entering the port and leaving the port. The industrial visit was truly educative and informative.
