FINCLAVE’26 – Academic Conclave on Fintech and AI in Financial Services

FINCLAVE’26 was successfully organized by the S.A. School of Management (SASOM) on 4th March 2026, under the theme “Role of Fintech in Enhancing Financial Services & Informed Investing.” The conclave aimed to bridge academic knowledge with industry expertise by providing insights into fintech innovations and AI-driven investment strategies.

The program commenced with registration, prayer, and the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing the formal inauguration of the event. This was followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. Viji R., Director – School of Management, who highlighted the significance of fintech in the evolving financial ecosystem. The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent, S.A. College of Arts & Science (SACAS), who emphasized the transformative role of technology in modern financial services and the need for students to adapt to emerging digital financial platforms.

Panel Discussion I on the theme “Role of Fintech in Enhancing Financial Services” was moderated by Mr. Glenn Roger Carr, Founder & Director, FINMARK. The distinguished panelists included Mr. K. Suresh, President & CEO, India Cements Investment Services Ltd.; Mr. Vasanth Lakshman, Principal Partner, Urban Money; and Mr. B. Anandan, Channel Manager, ABSL Mutual Fund Ltd. The panel discussion focused on topics such as digital financial services, financial inclusion, transparency in transactions, and the importance of investor awareness in the fintech era.

Panel Discussion II, titled “AI’s Contribution to Better Investment Decisions,” was also moderated by Mr. Glenn Roger Carr. The panelists included Mr. Kannan Rajagopal, Managing Director, KSEMA Wealth Private Ltd., and Mr. K. Swaminathan, Former Global Chief Delivery & Wellness Officer, Bahwan Cybertek. The session explored the growing impact of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation in portfolio management, risk assessment, and informed investment decision-making.

As a token of appreciation, the dignitaries were felicitated for their valuable contributions. The event also featured a Business Quiz, which actively engaged students and enhanced their knowledge of finance and current economic trends.

The program concluded with the Valedictory Session, Certificate Distribution, Vote of Thanks, and the National Anthem.

Overall, FINCLAVE’26 proved to be a highly informative and successful academic conclave, offering students practical exposure to the latest developments in fintech, artificial intelligence, and modern investment practices, thereby contributing significantly to their academic and professional growth.

ZENITH 2.0: An Evening of Talent, Unity, and Celebration at SASOM.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized ZENITH 2.0 on 18 February 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the SACAS Lawn. The event was a vibrant evening filled with talent, entertainment, and togetherness. It provided a lively platform for students to showcase their skills, build team spirit, and create lasting memories.

The program featured cultural performances, interactive activities, and joyful celebrations, creating an energetic atmosphere. Dr. Viji R, Director – SOM, delivered the special address, highlighting the importance of extracurricular activities in developing leadership qualities and overall personality growth.

Students participated with great enthusiasm, and faculty members extended their active support, ensuring the event’s success. The well-coordinated performances and engaging sessions added to the excitement of the evening.

ZENITH 2.0 not only showcased diverse talents but also fostered unity, confidence, and camaraderie among students. The event offered a refreshing break from academic routines and remains a memorable milestone in the academic year 2025–2026.


S.A. School of Management Celebrates Grand Success of “Melange’26” On 12.02.2026

S.A. School of Management Celebrates Grand Success of “Melange’26” On February 12, 2026, the School of Management at S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with Business Standard, successfully organized “Melange’26” – Mela of Management, a vibrant intercollegiate management fest. The event drew an overwhelming response, with 433 students from 29 colleges participating enthusiastically.

The program was graced by Chief Guest N. Srinivasan, Director of Finance Operations at Freshworks, who inspired students with his insights on industry expectations and professional growth.

Melange’26 featured six engaging and competitive events designed to test students’ managerial and creative abilities. These included The Strategist, Pitch Starter, Step It Up, Bulls and Bears Challenge, and Thought Rattle, among others. Each event encouraged participants to demonstrate analytical thinking, innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills. An in house E-Newsletter SASOM Odyssey was released on the same day. 

The valedictory session marked a proud moment for all participants. Certificates were distributed to every student who took part in the fest, while winners and runners-up were honored with cash prizes and special recognition. The atmosphere was filled with celebration and a sense of achievement as students showcased their talents on a prestigious platform.

Melange’26 provided an excellent opportunity for budding managers to gain practical exposure, build confidence, and network with peers from various institutions. The grand success of the event reflects the college’s continued commitment to academic excellence, skill development, and holistic education.

Thinking Smart: Guest Lecture on Critical Thinking at SASOM.

The MMA Students Chapter of the School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised a guest lecture on “Critical Thinking” on 04 February 2026 at 10:00 AM in the SACAS Theater. The session aimed to help students understand the value of analytical and logical thinking in academics and professional life.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Sampath Raghav R, Manager at LTIMindtree. He explained that critical thinking involves using logic, reasoning, and evidence to make effective decisions while avoiding assumptions and personal bias. He also shared real-time corporate examples to explain how analytical thinking helps in solving workplace challenges and improving performance.

The session was interactive, and students actively participated by discussing real-life situations and sharing their opinions. The lecture encouraged students to develop a questioning mindset and improve their problem-solving abilities.

Overall, the session was informative and inspiring, motivating students to strengthen their thinking skills for future academic and career success.

International Multidisciplinary Colloquium 2026 Conducted Virtually by SASOM

The S. A. School of Management of SACAS co-partnered with the Department of Economics and Business Administration, College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA), Shinas, Oman, organised the International Multidisciplinary Colloquium 2026 on 29 January 2026. The virtual event was titled “Futurasia 2026: Bridging Continents, Forging Sustainable Futures.”

The International Multidisciplinary Research Colloquium 2026 (IMRC 2026), hosted with CEBA at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), Shinas, Oman, aimed to promote cross-disciplinary research collaboration. Conducted entirely in virtual mode, the colloquium ensured wide global participation, with over 1,000 participants from various countries.

The inaugural session featured a video presentation introducing the collaborating institutions and highlighting their academic strengths. Faculty members and students of the School of Management presented research papers on diverse themes aligned with the conference focus. Among 44 teams from the S. A. School of Management, two teams—Afrin Kathunof (III BBA) and Surya Prakash S. & Mohasina Asma G.(MBA) secured the Best Paper Award, marking a notable academic achievement for the institution.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science in association with Business Standard, inaugurated “Popcorn – The Management Theatre” on January 6, 2026, at the SACAS Theatre at 10:30 a.m. The event aimed to teach management concepts in a creative and engaging manner.

Mr. P.C. Balasubramaniam, Author, Entrepreneur, Co-founder & Director of Matrix Business Services India Pvt. Ltd., served as the Guest of Honour and resource person. Dr. Viji R., Director, School of Management, welcomed the gathering and explained the significance of the title “Popcorn.” Mr. S. Jayaraam, DGM – Market Development (South & East), Business Standard, delivered the special address.

Mr. Balasubramaniam conducted an energetic session using video clips from Superstar Rajinikanth’s movies to explain key management ideas such as leadership, communication, patience, courage, optimism, reputation, and dreaming big. Iconic dialogues like “En Vazhi Thani Vazhi” were used to highlight uniqueness and leadership.

The session, inspired by his book Rajini’s Panchatantra, combined fun with learning. The interactive discussion and Q&A made the programme enjoyable and highly informative for MBA students.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science organised an expert lecture titled “Career in Logistics” on December 24, 2025, at the SACAS Theatre. The session was held from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and witnessed active participation from management students.

The seminar was led by Vijayrao Ganpati Sharbidre, Managing Director of VJ’S Express, along with a team of six professionals. The speakers provided an in-depth overview of the logistics industry, highlighting its rapid expansion driven by initiatives such as Make in India, growth in e-commerce, green logistics, and digital transformation.

They discussed global career prospects in logistics hubs like Singapore and Dubai and stressed the importance of professional qualifications, technical tools, and soft skills. The interactive session encouraged students to pursue internships and industry exposure, inspiring them to view logistics as a promising and evolving career path.

School of Management Hosts Session on Analytics in Functional Areas of Business at SACAS 

The School of Management of S. A. College of Arts & Science successfully organised a two-day session on “Analytics in Functional Areas of Business” on 22nd and 23rd December 2025. The programme was conducted to equip students with practical knowledge of business analytics and its growing relevance in modern organizations.

Ms. Viola, Corporate Trainer and Consultant from Meta Cognitive Technologies Private Limited, served as the resource person. During the session, she explained how Business Analytics involves the systematic collection, processing, and analysis of data to generate meaningful insights that support efficient operations and informed strategic decision-making.

The students were provided with hands-on training in applying analytics across key functional areas such as marketing, finance, human resources, operations, and supply chain management. Ms. Viola emphasized the need for continuous practice in analytics and highlighted that, with rapid technological advancements and increasing data availability, business analytics has become a critical skill for future professionals.

The session witnessed active student participation and was highly informative, enhancing analytical thinking and industry readiness among the participants.

The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, conducted a four-day workshop titled “Communication for Business Leaders” on 18, 19, 22, and 23 December 2025. The programme aimed to strengthen students’ communicational intelligence and prepare them for leadership roles in the corporate world.

Mr. Narendranath Uppala, Chief Mentor, Nareen Edutech Consulting, Malaysia, served as the Chief Guest and resource person. He delivered highly engaging sessions on the fundamentals of English grammar, clearly explaining concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and verb tenses. Through real-life examples, interactive activities, and personal experiences, he helped students relate grammar to effective everyday and professional communication.

The workshop was interactive, informative, and motivational. Mr. Uppala’s practical teaching approach and insights on the importance of English for education and career growth made the programme a valuable and inspiring learning experience for management students.

SASOM Students’ Research Summit 2025 Promotes Research Excellence

The School of Management, S. A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organised the Students’ Research Summit 2025 for MBA students with the objective of providing a structured academic platform to present, discuss, and exchange research ideas and findings. The summit was designed to promote academic excellence, strengthen research orientation, and enhance analytical and critical thinking skills among management students.

The Research Summit was inaugurated by eminent industry leaders Mr. Jayaraam S., Deputy General Manager – Market Development (South & East), Business Standard, Chennai; Mr. Babu Nayagam, Head – Digital Transformation, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd.; and Mr. Rajesh Swaminathan, Global Talent Partner, Diligent Global, USA. Their inaugural addresses highlighted the importance of research-driven decision-making, industry-academia collaboration, and innovation in management education.

The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished industry experts including Mr. Srinivasan Varadharajan, Business & Investment Consultant and Director, SVS Investments; Mr. G. Uthramoorthy, Operations Manager, Finmark Trainers India Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Anandan, Deputy Chief Manager and Channel Manager, Aditya Birla Life Asset Management Company; Ms. Sudha Varadhan, Vice President, Divyaswaroopa Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.; and Ms. Surbhi Kothari.

A total of 94 MBA students presented their research papers, demonstrating strong subject knowledge and analytical competence. The presentations were evaluated through a comprehensive five-level assessment involving industry experts, external faculty, internal faculty, peers, and parents, ensuring diverse and constructive feedback.

Participants described the summit as highly informative and motivating. Overall, the Students’ Research Summit 2025 emerged as a successful academic initiative that significantly contributed to students’ intellectual growth and holistic academic development.
