Workshop on Communication for Business Leaders Held at SASOM
The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, conducted a four-day workshop titled “Communication for Business Leaders” on 18, 19, 22, and 23 December 2025. The programme aimed to strengthen students’ communicational intelligence and prepare them for leadership roles in the corporate world.
Mr. Narendranath Uppala, Chief Mentor, Nareen Edutech Consulting, Malaysia, served as the Chief Guest and resource person. He delivered highly engaging sessions on the fundamentals of English grammar, clearly explaining concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and verb tenses. Through real-life examples, interactive activities, and personal experiences, he helped students relate grammar to effective everyday and professional communication.
The workshop was interactive, informative, and motivational. Mr. Uppala’s practical teaching approach and insights on the importance of English for education and career growth made the programme a valuable and inspiring learning experience for management students.

SASOM Students’ Research Summit 2025 Promotes Research Excellence
The School of Management, S. A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organised the Students’ Research Summit 2025 for MBA students with the objective of providing a structured academic platform to present, discuss, and exchange research ideas and findings. The summit was designed to promote academic excellence, strengthen research orientation, and enhance analytical and critical thinking skills among management students.
The Research Summit was inaugurated by eminent industry leaders Mr. Jayaraam S., Deputy General Manager – Market Development (South & East), Business Standard, Chennai; Mr. Babu Nayagam, Head – Digital Transformation, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd.; and Mr. Rajesh Swaminathan, Global Talent Partner, Diligent Global, USA. Their inaugural addresses highlighted the importance of research-driven decision-making, industry-academia collaboration, and innovation in management education.
The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished industry experts including Mr. Srinivasan Varadharajan, Business & Investment Consultant and Director, SVS Investments; Mr. G. Uthramoorthy, Operations Manager, Finmark Trainers India Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Anandan, Deputy Chief Manager and Channel Manager, Aditya Birla Life Asset Management Company; Ms. Sudha Varadhan, Vice President, Divyaswaroopa Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.; and Ms. Surbhi Kothari.
A total of 94 MBA students presented their research papers, demonstrating strong subject knowledge and analytical competence. The presentations were evaluated through a comprehensive five-level assessment involving industry experts, external faculty, internal faculty, peers, and parents, ensuring diverse and constructive feedback.
Participants described the summit as highly informative and motivating. Overall, the Students’ Research Summit 2025 emerged as a successful academic initiative that significantly contributed to students’ intellectual growth and holistic academic development.

The School of Management of S. A. College of Arts & Science organised the Leadership Talk Series titled “Dabbawala: On-Time Every Time” on 15 December 2025 at the SACAS Theatre. The session featured a distinguished expert lecture by Mr. Sunil Gavande, Director & CEO, Dabbawal Enterprise Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, along with Mr. Sanjay Khumbar, Spokesperson of the Mumbai Dabbawala Association.
Mr. Gavande highlighted the unparalleled efficiency of the Mumbai Dabbawalas, focusing on their exceptional supply chain and logistics management. He explained the operational excellence, organisational culture, and unique management principles that enable the delivery of nearly 200,000 home-cooked lunchboxes every day with an error rate comparable to the prestigious Six Sigma standard. Mr. Sanjay Khumbar shared valuable insights into the communication system, coordination mechanisms, and collective responsibility that sustain the Dabbawala network.
A video presentation on the functioning of the Dabbawala system vividly illustrated their core values of discipline, trust, and teamwork. The lecture presented a compelling case study of a century-old, low-tech model that continues to serve as a global benchmark for precision, reliability, and employee engagement. The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, making it both insightful and inspiring.

The School of Management S.A.College of Atrs & Science organised workshop on "Wealth Management,"on 10.12.2025 and 11.12.2025 for MBA students. Mr. Glenn Roger Carr, Founder and Director of Finmark, was the resource person. On the first day, Mr. Glenn educated the students on the operations of the secondary market, role of derivatives and valuation of firm. He also explained how hedging of securities will help in reducing risk. emphasized the importance of these tools in stabilizing earnings and optimizing a firm's market value. On the second day, Students were given hands on training on Financial Planning and emphasising the need for insurance planning. The session not only provided an insight of secondary market but also emphasised the benefit of investment in secondary markets in spite of the risks involved. The session was interactive and thought provoking.

SASOM Hosts FDP on Creative Writing for Research Proposals at SACAS
The Centre for Research & Development, in coordination with the School of Management of S. A. College of Arts & Science organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Creative Writing for Research Proposals: From Proposal to Grant Success” on 27th November 2025 at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Dr. Mohan K., from the Centre for Climate Change and Environment, Vellore Institute of Technology, served as the resource person. He provided valuable insights into the structure and purpose of research proposals, highlighting key components of a strong proposal, expected outcomes, and the importance of demonstrating significance and innovation.
As part of the hands-on activity, faculty members were divided into groups and assigned to prepare and present their own research proposals. All teams participated enthusiastically, showcasing creative ideas and practical approaches to proposal writing.
The FDP proved highly beneficial, enhancing faculty competence in crafting competitive and impactful research proposals.

SASOM Launches NSE Smart Lab to Strengthen Industry-Aligned Learning.
The School of Management, at S.A. College of Arts & Science in collaboration with NSE Academy Ltd, a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd, Mumbai, proudly inaugurated the NSE Smart Lab (Simulated Trading) on 19th November 2025 at SASOM. The lab was officially launched by Mr. Ranganathan S., Associate Vice President, NSE Academy Ltd, and Mr. Vinodh James, Senior Manager, NSE Academy Ltd, along with Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, Director, Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar,Principal and Dr. Viji R., Director–SOM.
As part of this significant event, an MOU was signed to empower students with industry-relevant skills through capacity-building programs and virtual trading simulators. This initiative aims to bridge academic learning with real-time financial market experience, helping students gain practical exposure and confidence.
The new Smart Lab marks a major step toward preparing students for the dynamic world of finance and management.








24th MMA Students Convention attended by the students of SASOM on 27.10.2025
Students and Faculty of School of Management attended the 24th MMA All India Management students” convention at IIT Madras Research Park on 27th October 2025. The Theme of the convention was Future Ready-Leveraging AI, Agility & Human Skills to thrive in the Challenging World”. Participants were inspired by the insights shared by the experts from the industry on how technology and human potential can work together to shape the leaders of tomorrow. It was a great experience for the students of School of Management.

SASOM Organised Faculty Immersion Programme on Story Telling
S.A. School of Management, SACAS, JP Jacobs Research Foundation, UK & Faculty of Management, SRM University, Ramapuram, Jointly organised Faculty Immersion Program on Story Telling 0n 8th November 2025 for SRM and SASOM faculty members. Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of Management Studies, SRM University, Ramaparum was the curator. Dr.Praveen kumar highlighted the importance Storytelling and said that it will enhance educators’ ability as an effective pedagogy, fostering student engagement, creativity, and deeper learning. Dr. Praveen trained the faculties on how stories can be developed in their respective subjects through movie clippings relevant to their subject, role plays, which will demonstate effectiveness for knowledge retention, reflective thinking, and higher-order skills development. The faculty members were asked to form groups and cdevelop stories relevant to the subject of their interest. All the faculty members actively participated in the group activity.Such Faculty Immersion Programs will transform teaching methodologies, fostering a dynamic and participative learning atmosphere and will help educators create emotionally resonant, interactive, and contextually relevant lessons, resulting in greater student engagement and learning outcomes.













Golu Celebration Day 9
The Ninth day of Golu Celebration was organized by the School of Management on campus., The event reflected integration of tradition, devotion and cultural wisdom, highlighting the significance of Indian Knowledge System in fostering holistic learning and values. The students of SOM performed bajan . The celebration was aligned with SDG 3 Good Health and Wellbeing SDG4 Quality Education imparting traditional values.
The event demonstrated how celebrations like Golu blend devotion, creativity and learning reaffirming the role of Indian tradition in nurturing sustainable values and community well being.

Smart Investing: SASOM Students Gain Insights from Industry Expert.
The School of Management, S.A.College of Arts & Science in association with The Week, organized a Guest Lecture on Smart Investing and Recent Trends in Portfolio on September 23, 2025, at 11.00 a.m. in the SACAS Theatre. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Sridhar M., Assistant Vice President, White Oak Capital.
Mr. Sridhar emphasized the importance of investment and guided students on different avenues available for investors. He explained that smart investing means making decisions that align with financial goals, balancing risk and return, and avoiding overdependence on a single asset or sector. He stressed that investments should be cost-efficient, well-researched, and made only in government-regulated instruments.
Speaking about the Indian market, he highlighted that opportunities are strong, but risks exist, and success depends on discipline, good governance, and a balance between growth and safety. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and gaining practical financial knowledge.
