S.A. School of Management organized a guest lecture on “Big Data: Industry Applications & Domain Analytics” on 24 August 2026. The session was delivered by Mr. Anush Joel Lawrence, Lead Analyst, who provided students with valuable insights into the fundamentals and growing importance of Big Data in modern industries.

The resource person explained how Big Data and analytics support better decision-making, improved efficiency, and business growth. Through practical examples, students explored the applications of Big Data across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, retail, and marketing.

The session also highlighted the increasing demand for data analytics skills in today’s technology-driven business environment. The School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a seminar on “Fundamentals & Technicals of Stock Market” on 12 August 2026. The session featured Mr. Ramesh Narayanan, Director, Sincere Syndication, and Mr. Rangachari, Research Analyst, Sincere Syndication, as guest speakers.

Mr. Ramesh Narayanan introduced students to the stock market and highlighted the importance of informed investment. Mr. Rangachari explained the functioning of primary and secondary markets, different investment options, and the relationship between risk and return. He also introduced students to fundamental analysis through practical examples and shared useful online resources for understanding capital market trends.

The seminar encouraged active participation through discussions, examples, and interactive sessions. Students learned how to interpret financial information to evaluate a company's financial health and growth potential. The session emphasized making investment decisions based on financial fundamentals rather than market speculation.

The seminar successfully enhanced students' knowledge of stock market analysis and strengthened their analytical skills, helping them make more informed investment decisions in the financial markets.

School of Management held  Investiture Ceremony (MBA) for the Management club "Evolve" on August 7, 2026, Mr.Karthick Ravichandran, Talent Manager, tesa , graced the event as Chief Guest. The Guest shared his personal experiences and through impactful short stories, inspired the students to develop skills and understand the role of education for a successful life. He highlighted the role of student clubs in holistic development and motivated the new office bearers to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to the club and the college community. He commended the club members on their induction and urged them to foster fellowship and take up leadership roles.. Badges were presented to the Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, of Evolve club which includes Money Matters –Finance club, Talent Hive- HR club, Catalyst-Marketing Club, Connect-Logistics club, Techtonic-Analytics club, Synergy-Cultural Club, Petrichor-Sustainability Club. The MMA Students Chapter, School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science in association with MMA, organized an expert lecture on "Banking Trends & Innovation" on 5 August 2026. The session was delivered by Mr. Venkatakrishnan, Vice President (Retd.), Axis Bank, and BFSI Trainer.

The resource person provided valuable insights into the transformation of the banking sector from traditional banking to technology-driven financial services. He discussed emerging trends such as digital banking, mobile banking, fintech collaborations, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital payment systems, open banking, and data analytics. He also highlighted the importance of financial inclusion, sustainable banking practices, and the impact of regulatory changes on the banking industry.

Real-world examples helped students understand the practical applications of these innovations and the challenges faced by financial institutions. The interactive question-and-answer session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding career opportunities in banking and fintech.

The tournament was held in Andhra Pradesh, where M. N. Yaakesh competed against talented badminton players representing universities from across South India. His selection to represent the university is a reflection of his sporting excellence, dedication, and perseverance.

SASOM Equips Future Business Leaders with Communication Skills.

The S.A. School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a three-day workshop on "Communication for Business Leaders" from 28 to 30 July 2026. The programme was designed to strengthen students' communication skills and prepare them for leadership roles in the corporate world.

The workshop was led by Mr. Narendranath Uppala, Chief Mentor, Nareen Edutech Consulting, Malaysia. Through engaging and interactive sessions, he explained the fundamentals of English grammar, including nouns, verbs, adjectives, and verb tenses. Using real-life examples, practical activities, and personal experiences, he demonstrated how effective communication plays a vital role in academic success, professional growth, and leadership.

Students actively participated in discussions and exercises, making the sessions lively and meaningful. The workshop enhanced their confidence in using English for both personal and professional communication. The programme proved to be informative, practical, and inspiring, equipping management students with essential communication skills needed to excel in today's competitive business environment.

MBA Students Gain Practical Insights into Financial Planning and Wealth Management at SACAS.

The S.A. School of Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a three-day workshop on "Financial Planning & Wealth Management" on 20, 21, and 24 July 2026 for MBA students. The workshop aimed to enhance students' understanding of investment strategies, financial planning, and wealth creation.

Mr. Glenn Roger Carr, Founder and Director of Finmark, served as the resource person for the first two sessions. He explained the functioning of the secondary market, the role of derivatives, firm valuation, and the importance of hedging in reducing investment risk and improving financial stability. Students also received hands-on training in AI-based financial planning and learned the significance of insurance planning for long-term financial security.

The third day's session on online trading was conducted by Mr. Uthiramoorthy, who provided practical exposure to trading platforms and shared valuable insights into the secondary market. He highlighted both the opportunities and risks involved in investing. The workshop was highly interactive and equipped students with practical financial knowledge and essential wealth management skills for their future careers.

The session featured Mr. Dinesh Sabanaikam, Head of Marketing, MG Select, FPL Vehicles, Chennai, as the resource person. He highlighted how luxury brands create and sustain value through exclusivity, heritage, superior quality, emotional branding, and strategic positioning. The session also explored customer relationship management, digital transformation, influencer marketing, experiential branding, sustainability, and premium pricing through real-world case studies. Students actively interacted with the speaker by raising thought-provoking questions on luxury consumer behaviour and emerging marketing trends. The programme effectively bridged the gap between academic learning and industry practice, enriching students' understanding of strategic marketing and preparing them for careers in luxury brand management.

The S. A. School of Management (SASOM), S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully conducted its Advisory Board Meeting on 18 July 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the SOM Board Room. The meeting was presided over by Mr. P. Venkateshraja, Correspondent, and Dr. Viji R., Director, School of Management.

The meeting was attended by distinguished Advisory Board members, namely Mr. Gokul Santhanam, Senior Vice President, Mphasis; Mr. Muthu Sathiamurthy, Startup Mentor; Mr. Murali Ravindran, Managing Director & CEO, Konrad Technologies; Dr. M. The meeting concluded on a positive note with meaningful deliberations and strategic recommendations that will further strengthen the School of Management's vision of producing industry-ready management professionals and taking the institution to greater heights.

The School of Management organised FDP on Reimaging Management Education through Experiential, Technology- Enabled and Outcome -Driven Teaching Practices on 8th July 2026. Mr.Vinai Katariya, Associate Vice President, Barclays is the Resource Person. The Faculty Development Programme was conducted with the objective of equipping faculty members with innovative teaching methodologies and contemporary educational practices. Mr.Vinai shared valuable insights into transforming management education through experiential learning, digital technologies, and outcome-based teaching. The Resource person focused on the use of case studies, simulations, role plays, project-based learning, flipped classrooms, and technology-enabled instructional tools to create engaging and effective learning experiences. The program encouraged educators to adopt learner-centric approaches that meet the evolving needs of higher education and the business world. The programme was highly interactive and provided meaningful insights into innovative teaching practices and reinforcing the importance of continuous professional development for educators.
