P.G. Department of Commerce (General) successfully organized an inter-collegiate event titled "Gamification for Happy Learning." This unique event aimed to explore innovative methods of integrating gamification into learning environments to enhance student engagement, motivation, and overall educational experiences. The event attracted participants from various colleges and provided a platform for both theoretical insights and practical applications in the field of gamified education.The event featured a series of academic sessions, practical workshops, and discussions led by distinguished guests and experts in the field. The event also included moments of recognition and celebration, fostering an atmosphere of academic enthusiasm and collaboration.

Dr.G.Monika Head-Department of Computer science and applications, Jeppiaar College of Arts and Science, gave an resounding session on Gamification application of game based tools in various disciplines, Dr.L.Lavanya Principal Jeppiaar College of Arts and Science, gave an hands on training on incorporating game elements in teaching methodology, and shared her knowledge about various Gamification tools such as Kahoot, quiz.com, Duolingo, black box, mystery box etc ,

The PG Department of Commerce (General) successfully organized a guest lecture program titled "Constitutional Campus: Navigating Democracy Day" on September 26, 2024, at the SF14. The event aimed to instill a deeper understanding of democracy and its principles among students and faculty while fostering active engagement in democratic practices. The program began with an inspiring Human Rally, showcasing the spirit of unity and democratic values. Following the rally, all participants took a solemn Democracy Pledge, emphasizing their commitment to upholding the principles of democracy in their daily lives. The event was graced by esteemed speakers who shared their expertise and insights on democracy and its relevance in today’s society: Dr. Karthick, Advocate: Delivered an enlightening talk on the legal and constitutional aspects of democracy, focusing on the role of individuals in safeguarding democratic rights. Mr. Nammala Krishna, District Youth Officer: Spoke on the importance of youth participation in democratic processes and how young minds can drive positive change in society. Mrs. A. Meenakshi Sundari, M.A. in Sociology: Highlighted the sociological dimensions of democracy, including inclusivity, diversity, and the role of education in nurturing democratic citizens.

The program concluded with a Speech Competition, where participants eloquently expressed their views on topics related to democracy. The competition saw enthusiastic participation, and the winners were awarded prizes to honor their efforts and insights. The guest lecture program was a resounding success, with active participation from students, faculty, and guests. It provided a platform to explore the significance of democracy and its application in real-life scenarios. The event not only enhanced the knowledge and understanding of democracy but also encouraged attendees to contribute actively towards a more inclusive and democratic society.

PG Department of Commerce (General)  organized Exhibition focused on raising awareness about Anti-ragging and addressing Women’s Sexual Harassment on 04.10.2024

The PG Department of Commerce (General)  organized Exhibition focused on raising awareness about Anti-ragging and addressing Women’s Sexual Harassment,  on 4th of October 2024 between 2. 00 pm to 3.00pm at SACAS. This initiative has taken with the  motive of educating the society's well being.  This event offered a forum to promote a safer and more respectful campus environment among students. Totally 53 Students participated were showcase their talents in craft work.

The Citizen Consumer Club, in association with the PG Department of Commerce (General), organized a thought-provoking guest lecture on Consumer Rights, featuring CMA, CS, Ln. Dr. V.N. Parthiban as the esteemed speaker. The event aimed to educate students and community members about their rights as consumers, emphasizing the importance of informed decision-making in today’s complex marketplace.

Dr. V.N. Parthiban delivered a comprehensive presentation that covered various critical aspects of consumer rights. He began by outlining the fundamental rights that every consumer should be aware of, including the right to safety, information, choice, and redress. He further elaborated on the legal frameworks in place, such as the Consumer Protection Act, that safeguard these rights. Dr. Parthiban highlighted the significance of being an informed consumer and the ways individuals can advocate for their rights in various situations.

The lecture also provided practical tips on how to effectively resolve consumer disputes and the role of consumer forums in promoting justice. The audience was engaged throughout the session, with participants encouraged to ask questions and share personal experiences related to consumer issues. Dr. Parthiban addressed these inquiries thoughtfully, offering practical insights and solutions.

The PG Department of Commerce (General), S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a Guest Lecture “How to crack your First Interview” was successfully conducted at SF13 on 29/08/2024. The program was organized to provide participants with valuable insights of an interview during their placement and the benefits of it to enhance their personal as well as professional skills for their Professional development. Mr. Rifai Ahamed Gani, the Guest Lecture for the event, delivered an excellent Speech How to Present themselves in a better way for an interview. He highlighted the following key points:

An interactive session was happened where participants had the opportunity to ask questions about cracking of an interview with Mr. Rifai Ahamed Gani on career objective topics related to personal and professional development. PG Department of Commerce (General), S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a seminar on "ProEdge: Empowering Your Professional Career" was successfully conducted at Auditorium on 28/08/2024. The program was organized to provide participants with valuable insights into the significance of education at all levels and the benefits of pursuing additional courses to enhance their professional skills.400 Students participated in the programme.

PG Department Of Commerce (General) conducted  Freshers' day Celebration "Freshers Party" on 28/8/24 between 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m at SACAS Auditorium for Commerce Students. Boys dances, Karoge, Girls group dance were the highlight of the event. Coordinators taught Importantance of Gestural communication by Solo dance movements. Followed by influence message from Faculty and Senior Students. Day celebrated with full of joy and take of all the inhibitions of first year students to show unity of Commerce Department..

The PG Department of Commerce (General), S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a seminar on "Digital Banking and Cybersecurity" for both undergraduate and postgraduate students on July 26, 2024. Mr. Ranjith Kumar, Manager and Digital Banking Ambassador for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, served as the resource person for this informative event.

The seminar commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Dhanraj of II M.Com. Mr. Ranjith Kumar then delved into the following key aspects of digital banking and cybersecurity:

  • Evolution of Digital Banking
  • Advantages of Digital Banking
  • Digital Banking Products
  • Importance of Cybersecurity
  • Types of Security Issues

The session was engaging and provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of digital banking and the critical importance of cybersecurity. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of cybersecurity measures and the various types of cybercrimes.

Inner Wheel Club organized Kappalil Mazhalai oli  (Diwali celebration ) for Government school children.

Dr. Easakkiammal, Department of Tamil, and Mrs. Karthika. P,PG Department of Commerce (General) Inner wheel club coral members represented the S.A. College of Arts &  Science for this event.

The journey started at 7.20 a.m. from Sacas and reached 8.30 a.m. to Chennai Primary School,Adyar from there  we accompanied 58 students and 10 staff members,  along with the students we went to Chetpet eco-park at 10.30 a.m., students enjoyed attending games,  magic show, the aquarium, free boating, and lot of students showcased their craft talents, etc. 

IWC provides a special lunch and dessert for all participants and gifted school bags to all students carrying notebooks, colour pencils,  geometric boxes, and other stationery items. 

I would like to thank the Correspondent sir, our Director mam, and the Principal mam for giving us this opportunity and for providing 2 school buses to make an extraordinary journey.
