Onam celebrations at S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized by the Rotaract Club on 16.09.2024
The Onam celebrations at S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized by the Rotaract Club of SACAS, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Kerala through a variety of traditional events.
*Onam Pookalam:*
Each department contributed to the vibrant Onam Pookalam competition by creating intricate and colourful floral designs. The event celebrated creativity and teamwork, with prizes awarded to the most outstanding floral arrangements.
*Onam Sadya:*
Departments presented a delightful array of pre-cooked traditional dishes in the Onam Sadya competition. Prizes were awarded for the best presentations, celebrating the rich culinary traditions of Onam.
*Exposition of Mahabali Chakravarthy:*
The festivities continued with a grand exposition of Mahabali Chakravarthy on the college grounds, bringing the legendary king’s story to life and adding a cultural dimension to the event.
*Drum Ecstasy – Chenda Melam:*
A highlight of the celebrations was the exhilarating Chenda Melam performance, where traditional drummers filled the air with rhythmic beats, creating an electrifying atmosphere and drawing the celebrations to a vibrant close.
The Onam celebration fostered a sense of unity and cultural pride, with prizes awarded for excellence in both the Pookalam and Sadya events. The event successfully brought the spirit of Onam to life within the college.

Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organised an Awareness program " The Boys " session II, on the Psychological and Biological aspects of Teenage boys on 14/8/24 between 12 p.m to 1:30 p.m. at CG Lab for First year boys from B.Com ( Accounting & Finance, Corporate secretaryship), BSC CS CS, BCA, and English actively participated the event.Dr. Srinivasan, MD General Medicine, was the speaker for the program.150 Students participated the event

Rotaract Club of S.A College of Arts & Science Organised " *Mind Over Matter* " awareness session on Suicide Prevention at Auditorium between 2 :00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. on 13/8/24(Tuesday). Mrs. Jayashree Parasuram is the Speaker of the session. Mam highlighted Demographics factors, Socio-economic factors and peer influence. 40 students from different departments participated this Counselling session.

College of Arts & Science organized an Awareness program " The Boys" on the Psychological and Biological changes of Teenage boys on 12/8/24 between 12 p.m to 1:30 p.m. at Auditorium for First year boys from B.Com ( General, Computer Application), BSC CS AI, BBA, NFSMD & Psychology actively participated the event.Dr. Srinivasan, MD General Medicine, Navins Housing is the speaker for the program.





Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science – Suryan Walkthon, organised by Surya FM on 28.07.2024 at Island Ground
Suryan FM 93.5 organised one day Walkthon *Suryan Walkthon* at Island Ground, Chennai on 28/07/2024, Sunday between 5 a.m to 9 a.m.Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science,Sponsered by Rotary Club Ambattur, RID 3234 Coordinated the event along with Suryan FM 93.5. 23 Students from different departments participated this mega Walkthon to spread awareness on Liver cancer. Healthy liver Healthy you was the tagline for the Walkthon. Program was started early morning 6 a.m., for a 5 k.m. walk. Volunteers and Participants got medal and certificates as token of happiness.





Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organises Kargil Vijay Diwas on 25.07.2024
Rotaract of S.A. College of Arts & Science, Sponsered by Rotary Club of Ambattur, RID 3234, organised Kargil Vijay Diwas on 25/07/24 between 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m at SACAS Auditorium. Colonel Bhupinder Singh, Assistant Governor, served more than 30 years in Indian Army shared inform on Kargil battle war. Chief guest also highlighted Army job opportunities to students. 55 students from various departments participated the event.Club facilitated the guest and a two minutes silent prayer for all Indian Soldiers,who Sacrificed life for the country.



The Rotaract Club – 2nd DRR visit on 31.05.2024
A DRR official visit provides each Rotaract club with the invaluable opportunity to showcase their records and activities, aiming to impress and earn recognition from the DRR. The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science held their 2nd DRR visit on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the CG lab. Twenty students from various departments participated, and we were honored to have RTR. Essaki Shekar, RTR. Rohit Kumar, and RTR. Sundar as our special guests. Dhayandhan, President of the Rotaract Club, presented the annual report, proudly noting the successful completion of 48 programs during the 2023-24 academic year. These included 10 community service projects, 13 professional service projects, 10 club service projects, and 15 international service projects.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Principal Mam, Director Mam, and Correspondent Sir for their unwavering encouragement and motivation. Their support was instrumental in enabling us to successfully conduct these 48 programs.






Walkathon - walk for your dream on 10.03.2024
As a part of International Women's day celebration, Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science Sponsored By Rotary Club of Ambattur (RID - 3232) coordinated one day *Walkathon - walk for your dream* organized by *Suryan FM 93.5* at Island Ground, Chennai on 10/3/24. 43 Rotaract students came coordinated Walkathon activities. “The idea is to celebrate sisterhood and create a safe environment where women don't feel watched. When better than Women's Day to achieve that?” shares Anoushka Jain, founder, Enroute Indian History, adding, “Exploring heritage via such walks helps women reclaim the city where they live." We would like extend our gratitude towards Principal mam, Director mam and Correspondent sir for giving this opportunity.




A one day Walkthone on " *What with Understanding for Peace* " on 23/02/2024
Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science in association with Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Coral conducted one day Walkthone on " *What with Understanding for Peace* " on 23/02/2024 ( Friday) at S.A. College Campus between 8 a.m to 9 a.m.
130 students from various departments were participated the event. Walkthone started from College main gate to Sudharasanam school, followed by S.A. Engineering College. Students hold pluck cards and explains about Peace.



One Day Soft Skill Personal Development on *The Emcee Era* on 20.2.2024
Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Sciences, Sponsered by Rotary Club of Ambattur, Conducted One Day Soft Skill Personal Development on *The Emcee Era* at SACAS Auditorium on 20/02/2024 ( Tuesday) between 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. *Ms. Paviethra Sarathi* was the Speaker for the event. Rotaract coordinators along with students from various departments participated this Skill enhancement program.The core concepts of the event are enhancing communication skills, instilling discipline, and identifying driving factors for personal and professional growth.
