The Rotaract Club and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a Happiness Sharing Programme at Carmel Centre for the Differently abled on 09 June 2026. The initiative aimed to spread happiness and create memorable moments for the special children at the centre.

As part of the program, toys were distributed to the children. The volunteers enthusiastically interacted with them through friendly conversations, games, and engaging activities. The children received the gifts with great excitement, and their cheerful smiles made the occasion truly special.

The event provided an opportunity for the volunteers to experience the values of empathy, compassion, and inclusion while building meaningful connections with the children. The Happiness Sharing Program was a heartwarming experience that reflected the spirit of social responsibility and community service upheld by S.A. College of Arts & Science.

SACAS's Large-Scale Cleanup Drive Held in Pulicat Islands for World Environment Day

As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, a large-scale cleanup drive was organized on June 6, 2026, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. across the five islands in the Pulicat region. The initiative was jointly organized by Bisleri and S.A. College of Arts & Science in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. Thirty enthusiastic Rotaract students from S.A. College actively participated in the programme, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection and community service.

During the drive, volunteers collected large quantities of plastic waste and other litter scattered across the island areas. Their efforts contributed significantly to preserving the fragile ecosystem of the Pulicat region, which is known for its rich biodiversity. The programme also served as an educational experience, creating awareness among students about the importance of environmental conservation, waste management, cleanliness, and sustainable living. The event highlighted the value of collective action in safeguarding nature for future generations.

SACAS in Health Walkathon Promotes Public Health Awareness in Avadi

A Health Walkathon was organised by the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine on 13 March 2026 at Avadi from 5.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. The event aimed to create awareness among the public about the importance of health, fitness, and disease prevention.

Around 60 students from the Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science actively participated in the walkathon. The students walked enthusiastically through the designated route, supporting the initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle and spread awareness about preventive healthcare practices.

The programme encouraged community participation and highlighted the important role of youth in promoting public health awareness. Early morning walkers and local residents also showed interest and appreciated the initiative.

The walkathon turned out to be an energetic and meaningful event that inspired participants and the public to adopt healthy habits and maintain overall wellbeing. It also strengthened the spirit of social responsibility among the students.

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized Arise, a Club Orientation Program, on 11.02.2026 from 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm at the SACAS Preview Theatre. Around 100 Rotaract students actively participated in the program. The session aimed to introduce the objectives, values, and activities of Rotaract. The chief guest, Rtr. PP. Vignesh Kumar PS, delivered an inspiring speech about leadership, teamwork, and community service. He motivated the students to actively involve themselves in social initiatives. The program concluded successfully with an interactive session, encouraging students to grow and serve society through Rotaract.

The Red Ribbon Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science successfully organized a vibrant Rangoli Competition that combined creativity with an important message of cancer awareness. The event aimed to spread awareness among students through art and teamwork.

A total of 12 teams participated with great enthusiasm. Each team consisted of three members who worked together to create meaningful rangoli designs. The students used bright and attractive colors to express strong messages about cancer awareness, prevention, and support for patients. Their artistic ideas clearly showed their understanding and social responsibility.

The competition created a lively and energetic atmosphere across the campus. Students displayed passion, coordination, and creativity while preparing their designs. The event also encouraged unity and awareness among participants and viewers.

Overall, the Rangoli Competition was a great success. It not only highlighted the artistic talents of students but also helped in spreading an important social message about cancer awareness in a creative and impactful way.

The National Voter’s Day Pledge was observed on 24 January 2026 at 9.30 a.m. in the college premises of S.A. College of Arts & Science. The programme was organized by the Rotaract Club with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of voting and active participation in the democratic process.

Students and faculty members participated enthusiastically in the event. During the pledge, participants reaffirmed their responsibility to vote ethically, responsibly, and without fear or external influence. The programme highlighted the role of young voters in upholding democratic values and strengthening the electoral system of the nation.

Through the celebrations, Rotaract Club members emphasised values such as sharing, compassion, unity, and social responsibility, reminding students of the broader social significance of Christmas.

A Breast Cancer Awareness walk titled *“One Walk, One Hope”* was organized by the District Rotaract Council on 26th October 2025 at Island Ground from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The event aimed to spread awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of breast cancer. Rotaract and RRC students from S.A. College of Arts & Science enthusiastically participated in the walk, holding placards and raising slogans to promote women’s health. The initiative encouraged participants and the public to support regular health check-ups and extend hope to those fighting cancer, emphasizing that awareness can save lives.

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the Rotary Club of Ambattur (RID 3234/Rising Group 01), successfully organized “The Mentor Mashup 2025” at the SACAS Preview Theatre. The event was held to celebrate and recognize the significant contributions of faculty members in shaping the academic and personal growth of students.

During the event, four distinguished faculty members were formally honored for their exceptional dedication to mentoring, inspiring students, and fostering a culture of knowledge and excellence. These awards highlighted their commitment to innovative teaching practices, continuous support, and their role in empowering students to reach their full potential.

The ceremony commenced at 12:00 PM and featured motivational speeches, expressions of gratitude, and a structured award presentation. The program was presided over by the President and Secretary of the Rotaract Club, with faculty coordinators playing an active role in the event’s success.
