A Breast Cancer Awareness walk titled *“One Walk, One Hope”* was organized by the District Rotaract Council on 26th October 2025 at Island Ground from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The event aimed to spread awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of breast cancer. Rotaract and RRC students from S.A. College of Arts & Science enthusiastically participated in the walk, holding placards and raising slogans to promote women’s health. The initiative encouraged participants and the public to support regular health check-ups and extend hope to those fighting cancer, emphasizing that awareness can save lives.

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the Rotary Club of Ambattur (RID 3234/Rising Group 01), successfully organized “The Mentor Mashup 2025” at the SACAS Preview Theatre. The event was held to celebrate and recognize the significant contributions of faculty members in shaping the academic and personal growth of students.
During the event, four distinguished faculty members were formally honored for their exceptional dedication to mentoring, inspiring students, and fostering a culture of knowledge and excellence. These awards highlighted their commitment to innovative teaching practices, continuous support, and their role in empowering students to reach their full potential.
The ceremony commenced at 12:00 PM and featured motivational speeches, expressions of gratitude, and a structured award presentation. The program was presided over by the President and Secretary of the Rotaract Club, with faculty coordinators playing an active role in the event’s success.
This recognition emphasizes the college’s continued focus on academic excellence and its strong belief in the power of mentorship as a transformative force in education. The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized grand Onam celebrations on 4th September 2025, marking the occasion with cultural vibrancy and festive spirit. The programme brought together students, faculty, and staff in a memorable celebration of tradition and togetherness.
The festivities began with the Onam Pookalam competition, held at the College Auditorium. Each department presented a floral carpet, symbolizing harmony and creativity. Teams of six participants showcased intricate designs within the allotted time of one hour. The auditorium radiated colour and artistry, capturing the cultural essence of Onam.
Simultaneously, the Onam Sadya was organized at the Nutrition Lab and college premises. Departments contributed a variety of pre-cooked traditional dishes, reflecting the culinary heritage of Kerala. The Sadya not only highlighted the richness of festive cuisine but also strengthened bonds among students and staff through the spirit of sharing.
Both events witnessed enthusiastic participation and wholehearted involvement from every department. The coordinated efforts, vibrant atmosphere, and active student engagement ensured the success of the celebration. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and a deep sense of cultural pride.

The event, exclusively designed for students, aimed to empower young minds with valuable insights into health, lifestyle, and personal growth.
The highlight of the program was the presence of Dr. Srinivasan Ganesan, MD (General Medicine), who served as the Guest Speaker. With his vast expertise and inspiring perspective, Dr. Srinivasan delivered an engaging session that emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle, cultivating healthy habits, and adopting a positive mindset. His address not only focused on physical well-being but also shed light on the significance of mental resilience and personal discipline in shaping a successful future.

The event featured Rtn. Biju Narayanan as the chief guest and keynote speaker. He spoke about the mission and values of Rotary and Rotaract, focusing on service, leadership, and global connection. He also shared real-life success stories from Rotary projects that motivated students to become changemakers.
The session was interactive, with students actively participating, asking questions, and showing keen interest in joining future Rotaract initiatives.

The Rotaract Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science, sponsored by Rotary International District 3234 – Rising Group One, held its 5th Installation Ceremony titled “Ready 2 Rise” on 31st July 2025 at the college’s Preview Theatre. The event marked the investiture of the new President, Secretary, and board for the 2025–26 Rotaract year. It began with a warm welcome, invocation, and traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku. The collaring ceremony symbolized a smooth transition of leadership. Highlights included the Annual Report video, heartfelt speeches, and the unveiling of the new club logo and standee under the theme “Unite for Good.” New board members took their oath and received badges, pledging commitment to service. Distinguished guests delivered inspiring messages, and the event ended with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem. The ceremony blended tradition and vision, setting the tone for a purposeful year ahead.

World Water Day Gram Sabha Held at Mettupalayam On March 29, 2025, The World Water Day Gram Sabha was successfully conducted at Mettupalayam Community Hall, bringing together students and local residents in a collaborative effort to promote water conservation.
Students from the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) and National Service Scheme (NSS) of S.A. College of Arts & Science actively participated alongside village residents to discuss sustainable water management, conservation techniques, and community-driven initiatives. The discussions emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring a water-secure future.
Speakers at the event highlighted practical steps for water conservation, including rainwater harvesting, efficient irrigation methods, and reducing water wastage. The Sabha served as a platform to strengthen awareness and commitment towards sustainable water practices.
With enthusiastic participation and valuable insights, the event reinforced the need for community-led actions to safeguard water resources for future generations.

S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with Bisleri, organized a Clean-Up Drive at Thiruverkadu Municipality for Global Recycling Day. Sixty students from the Rotaract Club, UBA, and NSS, supported by municipality workers, cleaned a 2 km stretch, collecting plastic waste. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about recycling and responsible waste disposal. Volunteers educated residents on plastic pollution, encouraging sustainable habits. The event fostered community participation and environmental responsibility. Despite challenges like excessive waste, the drive was a success, highlighting the power of collective action in promoting a cleaner and greener future.

SACAS Organizes Mega Blood Donation Camp - 'Kurudhikodai 2025' Chennai, March 4, 2025 – The National Service Scheme (NSS), Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and the Rotary Club of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a massive blood donation camp titled 'Kurudhikodai 2025' in association with Right Trust Blood Bank at the college auditorium.
With overwhelming participation from students, 102 units of blood were donated, marking a significant contribution towards saving lives. The event saw enthusiastic volunteers stepping forward selflessly to support this noble cause.
The college extends its heartfelt gratitude to Thiru. P. Venkatesh Raja, Correspondent, Dr. V. Sayi Satyavathi, Director, and Dr. Malathi Selvakkumar, Principal, for their guidance and encouragement. A special thanks to all department heads, faculty members, and non-teaching staff for their unwavering support in making this event a grand success.

The event "Delicious Duals - Cooking Up for a Difference" aimed to foster creativity, teamwork, and healthy competition among students and staff through an inter-departmental cooking competition.
