S.A. College of Arts & Science in association with ED Cell, Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), IKS,EDII-TN & Department of Commerce(Bank Management) jointly  organized  a “GUEST LECTURE ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION AWARENESS”. 

The event took place in Preview Theatre  on 10th  January 2025, at 12:00 p.m. onwards. The Chief Guest Mr. P.A Joseph Dinesh, a Financial Wellness Coach with expertise in Financial Industry. As a dedicated professional and educator, Mr. P.A Joseph Dinesh aimed to help students to improve their skills in financial areas. In this session, more than 196 students and 7 faculty members participated. The following contents were discussed in the session.

S.A. College of Arts & Science Hosts Seminar on Empowering the Next Generation of Women in STEM: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities under NEP On January 8, 2025, the “Empowering the Next Generation of Women in STEM: Navigating Challenges and Seizing Opportunities under NEP” seminar, organized by the School of Commerce at S.A. College of Arts & Science and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research - SRC (ICSSR-SRC), attracted widespread attention, receiving over 100 article submissions on its theme. The seminar aimed to address gender disparities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and align with India's Vision Viksit Bharat @ 2047, marking the 100th year of independence.

Focusing on the obstacles women face in STEM, such as gender bias, harassment, the glass ceiling, and work-life balance issues, the seminar sought to empower women to overcome these challenges and contribute to a more inclusive society under the National Education Policy (NEP). The seminar’s objectives included exploring the current status of women in STEM, identifying NEP opportunities, and proposing actionable recommendations for policymakers and educational institutions.

The event addressed key themes, including promoting gender equality in STEM education, enhancing leadership opportunities for women, and sharing national and international best practices.

An exceptional lineup of speakers shared valuable insights:

Dr. RameshBabu Boga, Managing Director of BogaR Laboratories LLC, USA, delivered the keynote address on the challenges and opportunities for women in STEM.

Ms. Jananee Jayakumar, State VP of the Karnataka Anti Sexual Harassment Council, spoke on work-life harmony.

Mr. Deepak, President of GUVI Geek Networks, discussed fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.

Ms. Ponniyinselvi K M, Senior Manager at Cognizant Technology Solutions, shared leadership strategies.

The seminar concluded with a valedictory address by Ms. Adhilakshmi Logamurthy, an accredited mediator and gender consultant.

The seminar's discussions focused on shaping policies that will support the growth of women in STEM careers.

On December 20, 2024, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and the Department of Bank Management, hosted the much-anticipated ED MART at the SACAS campus. This vibrant event aimed to inspire budding entrepreneurs, with a special focus on women entrepreneurs from self-help groups (SHGs).

The event was a dynamic celebration of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, providing an empowering platform for entrepreneurs to connect, showcase their ventures, and learn from each other. It served not only as a marketplace but also as a testament to the college's commitment to fostering innovation and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs.

Highlights of the Event:

  • The college received an overwhelming response, exceeding expectations in terms of participation and engagement.
  • A total of 40 stalls were set up by participants, including both self-help groups and non-self-help groups.
  • The enthusiastic participation of staff and students added to the event’s success. They actively visited the stalls and supported the entrepreneurs by purchasing products with great enthusiasm.

The success of the SACAS SHG MELA demonstrates the college's dedication to promoting entrepreneurship and supporting community-driven initiatives. This event not only provided a platform for entrepreneurial growth but also reinforced the significance of collaboration and community support in fostering innovation.

S.A College of Arts & Science, Department of Commerce (Bank Management) organized a Guest lecture on Navigating career choices on 26th September 2024. This Program held at SACAS Auditorium at 12 P.M. onwards.

 The speaker of the program was Dr. L. A. Joy Femila, Principal, Indhira College of Education Tiruvallur. She has very rich experience in Navigating career choices.  She demonstrated excellence in Self-Assessment, Exploring Career Options, Career choices for Bank Management, Setting Career Goals, Decision-Making Process, Networking and Mentorship, Seek Professional Help & Decision and Action. In this Session 130 Students and staffs were participated and get benefited.

  • She taught many ideas, methods, techniques and concepts in the Career Development Session.

Department of Commerce (Bank Management) of S.A. College of Arts & Science formed a human chain - Say No to Drugs on 25.09.2024

In a united stand against drug abuse, 137 students from the Department of Commerce (Bank Management) of S.A. College of Arts & Science formed a human chain, conveying a powerful message of Say No to Drugs. With creativity and conviction, students crafted compelling charts and cards, visually narrating the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of drug-free living.

The human chain, organized on September 25, 2024, at SAEC college entrance from 8 A.M. to 9.30 A.M. They not only raised awareness but also ignited conversations on the critical role of youth in combating drug addiction. Through their public display of anti-drug messages, students took a meaningful step in reinforcing the significance of drug prevention and education among their peers and the larger community.  The event underscored the collective power of youth, channeling their voices and creativity into a strong, unified campaign for a healthier, drug-free future.

In an effort  to curb the rising tide of drug addiction, the Human Chain Formation was a visual and educational reminder of the need for informed choices and proactive prevention. The success of this program lies in its ability to transform awareness into action, encouraging students and the public alike to take a firm stance against drugs. By participating in this initiative, students not only educated others about the risks of drug abuse but also took a leadership role in shaping a drug-free society."


ED Cell and Department of Commerce (Bank Management) jointly organizes an “ED Orientation Program” celebrating an account of “world Entrepreneurship Day” (Udayamita Diwas) on 03.09.2024

College of Arts & Science in association with Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), ED Cell and Department of Commerce (Bank Management) jointly organizes an “ED Orientation Program” celebrating an account of “world Entrepreneurship Day” (Udayamita Diwas). This Event took Place in the SACAS Auditorium on September 3rd, 2024, at 10 A.M. The Chief Guest, Ms. L. Karpagavalli, is a well-known professional artist associated with Fevicryl, a brand under Pidilite Industries Ltd. Fevicryl is recognized for its range of art and craft products, including paints and embellishments. As an artist working with Fevicryl, she would likely be involved in creating art using their products, possibly participating in workshops, demonstrations, or exhibitions. Her work would showcase how Fevicryl ‘s materials can be used creatively, often inspiring others in the art and craft community. Further, she is focusing on key elements such as Lipan Art Painting, Kerala Mural Painting and Tanjore on Fabric Jewelry. The aim of this program is to encourage the students to face the challenges of societal problems and how they can be dealt with in an entrepreneurial way. Creating this painting is very useful to enhance concentration, patience, creative skills, memory, systematic work practice etc. In this Session around 300 students & faculty participated and benefited. The academic for the year of 2024-2025, ED Cell, Students coordinators were awarded by Chief Guest, Ms. L. Karpagavalli along with ED Cell SPOC Dr. P. Pandian.

  • Marketing and Promotion: Techniques for promoting artwork and crafts, including leveraging social media, building a portfolio, and networking within the art community.
  • Financial Management: Basics of managing finances for an art business, including budgeting, investment, and expense tracking.
  • Customer Engagement: Strategies for building and maintaining customer relationships, including providing excellent customer service and understanding customer needs.
  • Workshop Planning: How to organize and conduct workshops or classes, which can be a revenue stream for artists.

As a dedicated professional and educator, CA Jayamani J aimed to help students and professionals improve their skills in these areas. In this session around 186 students and 4 faculty participated. The event took place at the SACAS Auditorium from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. The students from the third year of B. Com (General, Bank Management, Computer Applications, Accounting & Finance, and Corporate Secretaryship) attended the session. In this session overall 300 students were participated.

Department of Commerce (Bank Management) - A Report on One Day Industrial Visit On July 15.07.2024

A Report on One Day Industrial Visit On July 15, 2024, the Department of Commerce (Bank Management) at S.A. College of Arts & Science organized an enlightening industrial visit to Modern Bakers Private Limited at  Madhavaram. Modern Bakers Pvt  Ltd produces biscuits for the Parle-G company. During this visit, students learnt about the raw material, quality analysis, recipe preparation, molding and baking conditions for Parle-G biscuit. Also, they learned about 5S method implementations, Cost cutting Price Method, Automated packaging systems, and hygienic practices adopted in this factory. Finally, students interacted with industry experts. The industrial expert explained the types of biscuits prepared in their unit and how they analyze for quality and sensory attributes by internal and external experts. They also shared the placement possibilities at their unit. The students were accompanied by Dr.M.Prabhakar Assistant Professor & Dr.M.Neelabai Assistant professor  from Department of Commerce ( Bank Management) along  with Mr.A.Rajpaul HR, Parle-G, Industrial Expert. Finally, students were enriched with knowledge about Parle-G biscuit manufacturing process. This industrial visit paved the way for future industrial visits, memorandums of understanding for technical problem solving and students’ placement.
