The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised a Guest Lecture on "Professional Development Guidance" on 10 July 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was led by CA. R.M. Mangayarkarasi, Auditor, ICAI & CMA Institution.
The resource person explained the structure of the Chartered Accountancy course and highlighted the important role of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in shaping future finance professionals. She discussed scholarship schemes, the "Earn While You Learn" initiative, virtual learning facilities, campus placements, and the wide range of career opportunities available to Chartered Accountants. She also motivated students with the message, "Dream CA, Believe CA, Achieve CA."
The interactive session enhanced students' understanding of career planning, professional ethics, and industry expectations. Students and faculty members participated in the programme, gaining valuable guidance to make informed career choices and prepare for successful careers in commerce, accounting, and finance.

Students Gain Valuable Insights into Direct Taxation at SACAS.
The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised a Guest Lecture on "An Overview of Direct Taxation" on 9 July 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was delivered by CA. Deepika Ganesan, Chartered Accountant and Certified GST Trainer by NACIN.
The lecture provided students with a clear understanding of income tax and the latest developments in the New Income Tax Act, 2025. Key topics included the five heads of income, computation of total income, structural changes in the new Act, income tax return filing, and compliance procedures. The speaker also shared practical insights into the evolving taxation system and its importance in the field of commerce and finance.
Students and faculty members attended the interactive session with great enthusiasm. The programme enhanced students' knowledge of direct taxation and encouraged them to stay informed about changing tax laws, preparing them for successful careers in the finance and commerce sectors.

The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized the inauguration of its Department Logo and a guest lecture titled "Unlocking Potential: The Power of Life Skills" on 6 July 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The newly unveiled logo symbolizes the department's vision, values, and commitment to academic excellence and student development. A total of 21 students were also appointed as office bearers and received badges from the dignitaries, marking the beginning of their leadership journey. The guest lecture was delivered by Mrs. Ann Hepzibah Niraja, Educator and Student Development Facilitator, who highlighted the importance of communication, leadership, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and problem-solving for personal and professional success. Through practical examples, she encouraged students to build confidence, embrace challenges, and become lifelong learners. Around 130 students and faculty members participated enthusiastically, making the programme an inspiring and memorable experience that reflected the department's commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals.

The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised the Farewell Ceremony 2026 on 2 April 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and heartfelt emotions to bid a warm farewell to the outgoing students.
A total of 131 students actively participated in the programme, engaging in various activities that made the event lively and memorable. The ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of the Head of the Department and faculty members, whose support and involvement contributed significantly to its success.
The programme was filled with joyful moments, laughter, and nostalgic reflections, as students shared their experiences and cherished memories. Cultural performances and interactive sessions added vibrancy to the occasion, creating a positive and celebratory atmosphere.
Overall, the farewell ceremony was a grand success, leaving behind lasting impressions and emotional connections among students and faculty.

Account Opening Campaign Promotes Financial Inclusion at SACAS
The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with Indian Bank – SAEC Branch, organised an Account Opening Campaign on 12 March 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Room TF 02A on the college campus. The programme aimed to promote financial inclusion and encourage students to open and manage their own bank accounts.
The campaign received enthusiastic participation from students, many of whom showed keen interest in learning about banking services essential for academic and professional needs. Around 70 students successfully opened savings accounts during the event with the assistance of bank officials.
The representatives from Indian Bank explained the importance of maintaining bank accounts for financial security, scholarship transactions, and digital payments. Students were also guided through the required documentation and application procedures.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. T. Bala Dhandayudham, Faculty Coordinator, and Shakthipriyan C, Student Coordinator, under the guidance of Dr. P. Pandian, Head of the Department of Bank Management, with the support of the college management.

ED MART–2026 Ignites Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Students at SACAS
The Entrepreneur Development Mart (ED MART–2026) was successfully organized on 14th February 2026 with vibrant enthusiasm and active participation at S. A. College of Arts & Science. A total of 215 stalls were registered, presenting a diverse range of products and services including food items, mobile accessories, fashion products, stationery materials, gaming activities, chaat items, herbal products, and entertainment games. The event served as a dynamic platform for students to exhibit their entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and business acumen.
The highlight of the programme was the gracious presence of the Chief Guest, KPY Bala, along with his crew, who motivated students through their interaction and encouragement. The event commenced at 9:00 a.m. and witnessed energetic engagement throughout the day. Students from various colleges and external visitors explored and supported the stalls.
With dedicated coordination by staff members and disciplined participation by students, ED MART–2026 emerged as an inspiring and successful entrepreneurial initiative.

The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organized a Guest Lecture on “RBI – Management and Structure” on 12 January 2026 at TF-13. The programme aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of the structure, functions, and regulatory role of the Reserve Bank of India.
The session was handled by Mrs. Anantha Lakshmi MS, Company Secretary in Practice, who delivered a clear and informative lecture. She explained the organizational structure of the RBI, its management framework, and its key roles in monetary policy, banking regulation, currency management, and financial stability. Special focus was given to RBI’s regulatory functions, financial inclusion initiatives, recent banking reforms, and their practical relevance.
The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts related to banking operations and career opportunities. Around 133 students attended the programme.
Overall, the session was academically enriching and helped students connect theoretical concepts with real-world banking practices, making it a meaningful learning experience.

The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, successfully organised a guest lecture titled “Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) – A Way to Professional Development” on 24 December 2025 at the Thiruverkadu campus, Chennai.
The session was delivered by Mr. K. Balaji, Global Certification Expert at Imarticus Learning, who provided an in-depth overview of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification. He explained its global recognition, curriculum structure, skill orientation, and wide-ranging career opportunities in accounting, finance, auditing, and strategic management.
The lecture highlighted the importance of aligning academic learning with industry expectations and pursuing international certifications for professional growth. Students actively participated in the interactive discussion and gained clarity on global career pathways and professional development strategies.
The programme successfully strengthened academia–industry linkage and enriched students’ career planning, confidence, and readiness to meet global professional standards.

Insightful Guest Lecture on Equity Market Enlightens SACAS Students.
The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and the Department of Bank Management of S.A. College of Arts & Science organized a guest lecture on the Equity Market on October 10, 2025, at the Thiruverkadu campus. The session was led by Dr. R. Amuthan, Program Officer at SEBI and Coordinator for NSE and CDSL – Investor Protection Department.
Dr. Amuthan shared valuable insights on the structure and functioning of capital markets, investment strategies, and the importance of investor protection. He explained trading mechanisms, the role of SEBI in ensuring transparency, and the significance of CDSL in secure transactions. Students learned about Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) and safe investment practices through real-life examples.
The lecture saw active participation from 62 students and provided practical financial knowledge that bridged theory and real-world application. The event was both informative and inspiring, leaving students motivated to explore careers in finance.

United in Gratitude: SACAS Students Form Human Chain for World Gratitude Day.
S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the Department of Bank Management, celebrated World Gratitude Day on September 25, 2025, with a vibrant human chain formation at the SAEC Main Gate. The event highlighted values of gratitude, unity, and social harmony, creating a meaningful atmosphere across the campus.
Over 180 students enthusiastically participated, expressing their appreciation through heartfelt performances and surprise tributes to their faculty. A captivating magic show by Mr. E. Venkatesh Ranganathan, II year Bank Management, kept the audience enthralled. Adding a personal touch, students and staff exchanged “kutti sticky notes” filled with messages of thanks, sorry, and love, while “Gratitude Bytes” created touching moments of connection.
Special appreciation was extended to the management, faculty, and volunteers for their constant support. Notably, Mr. C. ShakthiPriyan of II year Bank Management received praise for his active involvement, ensuring the event’s success.
