The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized an HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme on 19 August 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at the SACAS Auditorium. Mr. S. Arputhanesan, Counselling Psychologist and Life Skills Coach, Counsellor, ICTC, Southern Railway Hospital, TANSACS, Chennai, served as the Resource Person. The session provided students with valuable information on HIV/AIDS, including its causes, modes of transmission, prevention, treatment, and the importance of timely healthcare and counselling. The resource person also addressed common myths and misconceptions and emphasized the need to eliminate fear, stigma, and discrimination against people living with HIV. Students were encouraged to make responsible health choices, maintain healthy lifestyles, and approach HIV/AIDS-related concerns with empathy and sensitivity. The interactive session witnessed the active participation of 161 students and faculty members. The programme successfully strengthened health awareness, social responsibility, and compassionate attitudes among the participants, inspiring them to become responsible awareness ambassadors in their communities.

College of Arts & Science, through the Department of Bank Management, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a Human Chain Formation for HIV/AIDS Awareness on 19 August 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at the SAEC Gate. Around 150 students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the awareness initiative. Students formed a human chain and displayed placards carrying meaningful messages on HIV/AIDS prevention, healthy practices, social acceptance, compassion, and the importance of eliminating stigma and misconceptions. The activity created a powerful visual message of unity and collective responsibility while helping spread authentic information about HIV/AIDS among the public. The programme also encouraged students to understand the importance of health education, preventive awareness, social responsibility, and community participation. The initiative successfully transformed student participation into a meaningful public awareness campaign, reinforcing the message that knowledge, empathy, and collective action are essential for building an informed and stigma-free society.

The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with IQAC, organized a guest lecture on “First Aid and Emergency Response Care” on 18 August 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The programme was attended by students and faculty members.
The session was led by Mr. Neelagandan Sankar, Senior Project Lead and First Aid Trainer, Alert NGO, who provided valuable insights into first aid, emergency preparedness, safety precautions, and appropriate responses during critical situations.
A key highlight of the programme was the hands-on practical training. Students actively participated in demonstrations of basic first-aid procedures, emergency response techniques, basic life-saving responses, and safe ways to assist injured or affected individuals until professional medical help is available.
The resource person emphasized the importance of remaining calm, assessing situations carefully, ensuring personal safety, and seeking professional assistance when required. The interactive approach helped students connect theoretical knowledge with real-life situations.
The programme successfully enhanced participants’ awareness, confidence, preparedness, and practical skills, reinforcing the importance of first-aid knowledge as an essential life skill and a vital part of community safety and social responsibility.

The session was led by Ms. Sandhiya Jayachandran, M.Com., FCA, CS., Chartered Accountant and Partner, R. Jayachandran & Co., and Mr. R. Jayachandran, B.Com., FCA, Chartered Accountant and Founder, R. Jayachandran & Co. The resource persons shared valuable insights into the changing financial and corporate sectors and highlighted emerging career opportunities.
The lecture covered finance, accounting, auditing, taxation, banking, corporate finance, compliance, corporate law, and governance. The speakers also emphasized the importance of technical knowledge, analytical thinking, communication skills, professional ethics, adaptability, and continuous learning.

College of Arts & Science, organised a Guest Lecture on "Logistics and Supply Chain Management" on 13 July 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The session was delivered by Mr. Matthews Arockiasamy from the Indian Institute of Logistics, Egmore.
The resource person explained the fundamentals of logistics and supply chain management and highlighted their importance in global trade and business growth. Students gained insights into emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, Big Data Analytics, and warehouse automation. The session also covered the National Logistics Policy (2022), PM GatiShakti, ULIP, and career opportunities in the logistics sector.
Through real-world case studies and industry examples, the lecture enhanced students' understanding of modern supply chain practices and encouraged them to develop the skills required for successful careers in this rapidly growing industry.

The resource person explained the structure of the Chartered Accountancy course and highlighted the important role of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in shaping future finance professionals. She discussed scholarship schemes, the "Earn While You Learn" initiative, virtual learning facilities, campus placements, and the wide range of career opportunities available to Chartered Accountants. The lecture provided students with a clear understanding of income tax and the latest developments in the New Income Tax Act, 2025. Key topics included the five heads of income, computation of total income, structural changes in the new Act, income tax return filing, and compliance procedures. The speaker also shared practical insights into the evolving taxation system and its importance in the field of commerce and finance.

A total of 21 students were also appointed as office bearers and received badges from the dignitaries, marking the beginning of their leadership journey. The guest lecture was delivered by Mrs. Ann Hepzibah Niraja, Educator and Student Development Facilitator, who highlighted the importance of communication, leadership, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and problem-solving for personal and professional success. Through practical examples, she encouraged students to build confidence, embrace challenges, and become lifelong learners. Around 130 students and faculty members participated enthusiastically, making the programme an inspiring and memorable experience that reflected the department's commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals.

The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, organised the Farewell Ceremony 2026 on 2 April 2026 at the SACAS Auditorium. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and heartfelt emotions to bid a warm farewell to the outgoing students.
A total of 131 students actively participated in the programme, engaging in various activities that made the event lively and memorable. The ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of the Head of the Department and faculty members, whose support and involvement contributed significantly to its success.
The programme was filled with joyful moments, laughter, and nostalgic reflections, as students shared their experiences and cherished memories. Cultural performances and interactive sessions added vibrancy to the occasion, creating a positive and celebratory atmosphere.

Account Opening Campaign Promotes Financial Inclusion at SACAS
The Department of Bank Management, S.A. College of Arts & Science, in association with Indian Bank – SAEC Branch, organised an Account Opening Campaign on 12 March 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Room TF 02A on the college campus. The programme aimed to promote financial inclusion and encourage students to open and manage their own bank accounts.
The campaign received enthusiastic participation from students, many of whom showed keen interest in learning about banking services essential for academic and professional needs. Around 70 students successfully opened savings accounts during the event with the assistance of bank officials.
The representatives from Indian Bank explained the importance of maintaining bank accounts for financial security, scholarship transactions, and digital payments. Students were also guided through the required documentation and application procedures.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. T. Bala Dhandayudham, Faculty Coordinator, and Shakthipriyan C, Student Coordinator, under the guidance of Dr. P. Pandian, Head of the Department of Bank Management, with the support of the college management.
